zip 81 where do you see a foundation? the offense scored 0 points,and had negative yards rushing.the ap write up pretty much made fun of the zip offense.we had three first downs.i thought the defense played great.the offensive play calling and offense in general were a joke.

i agree with 74 zip.when you punt 14 times in a row you got our butt kicked.our offense was pathetic.i blame the offense problems on the coaching staff.the defense busted there butts,and we could not even get a first down.what was the purpose of running the dive play on first down every time.the only two plays on offense were the dive,and the pass in the flat.we never threw over the middle to te,or wr.for three quarters we could not run the ball yet jd was still running the dive play in the fourth qrt.at some point you have to take chances and throw the ball down field.i realize osu had a great defense but if you run the same play 20 times a game it's not hard to figure out.the offenese needs to get better and along with the offensive play calling.

the first q is crucial.i think our defense will be fine as long as the offense does not 3-out continually.osu will try to pound the ball on us which i think we can stop at first.there is no reason we cannot keep this one close.hope for lots of osu turnovers.akron 17 osu16.

all the guys on bucknuts as usual predict we will get blown out.hopefully osu players are thinking the same thing.i do give the admin a big plus for sheduling arm before this game.while i know army is not osu,but i feel alott better about playing osu now.i not saying we will win but no reason we cannot compete with these guys.if this would have been our first game i think it would be ugly.

if they would have had another team then it would have made sense.with 13 teams the mac cross division games dont really mean much.they should have left it at 12 or ad one to 14.just to add temple for football makes no sense at all.

no way gt beating nd is an upset.gt has one of the best d in football.they can play with anyone.

i thought our qb played very well.it was his first game and we had alott of dropped passes.i wish we would go to the different defense.no presure on the qb unless we blitz the house.the thought the o-line played well for the frist game.the zips will have to step up big time next week.i have no idea what to expect next week.to early in the season.i give army credit there kids play hard and don't quit.

how far has this program come.give me a break?the 2001 offense had five guys drafted in the pro's. we had the best at akron ever.we will have to see how this game is played out but no way we have the offensive talent. the 2001 team gave osu fits,and they were in the game until late in the fourth quarter.the team may have went 4-7, but our offense could score some points on anybody.our wr corps is no where near the talent of the 2001.

skip zip i agree 100% with you.we will never see most of the bcs teams on our schedule .even at the new stadium.they will buy out of the contract.we are giving up something now to maybe? get something in the future. Can't is smart for making the teams come to there place first.we should have made indiana come to our place first,and we blew it.

it's amazing how all the mac teams manage to get home games with bcs schools whilewe play army,and three away games. we play kentucky in the new stadium.other than that well see if the other teams on the schedule actually visit. what is our athletic dept doing? once again this is Can't we are talking about and dix stadium.they played minn,and now bc.we get north texas and army.

i know most of us complain about the lack of coverage by the beacon,pd, ect.when your own university website does not have coverage of the team how are we supposed to expect the newspapers to? we get a reports maybe once every few days for a few lines.the only way we get information alott of times is if someone on the board goes to a practice to get any info.from what i have been reading the patriot bowl is not getting much coverage either.say what you want about osu but in c-bus they know how to promote the product.

i have to agreee with one of the posters about bruce keys playing a lb.the guy was huge for a lb 6'5 245.he moved real well for a guy his size.i thought he was always one of the guys that should have had more pub.besides clark & hilk i thought he was one of our al time best.

i think it's a good idea.it should help our depth on the defensive line.we have plenty of lb's so the move makes sense.the kid must have alott of abilty to start as a true freshman.it would be nice to have someone be able to rush the passer this year.

faust had a good ol i think tim marconi was his name.he played with jackson and akron had decent ol that year.i thought he was in the chic bears camp at one time?i do remember seeing clark on campus,and i can say he was one big scary looking guy.

i think actually if it's close then you start the true freshman.the other guys have been in the program for two years already.if they were that much better it would have shown in practice.the first game will be on freindly turf,and against a team that we can beat.it would be perfect opening game before going to the shoe.if we redshirt him and does have an injury you lose him for a year.it's not like any of the other guys have any game experince either.all of them are green.it would be nice to see a qb for four more years at akron.i give jd credit for not hitting the panic button.it would be easy to name a starter just to do it.

akron needs to worry about beating army.us fans can debate the osu game but we have not beat anyone yet.the last time army beat 20-0 so until we beat them i could care less about osu

i was at the game and we made two big mistakes.im not saying we would have beat em but we would have had a really good chance at the upset.on of our db's tipped a pass and went right to there wr for a td.also we fumbled the ball on our own 1.osu got two easy scores because of our turnovers.the big thing that may help is we have army as the first game to help our offense line get some pt together

the last time we played them the score was 28-14.we also had the best qb to play at akron.both tackles,and a wr that were drafted in the nfl.while i think out defense is probably going to be better than last time;our offense personel is not even close to that team.

i think it all comes down to our pg play.not that ced or dials cannot play some pg we really don't have true pg.if one of kd's recruits can give us some decent play there we should be on top of the mac again.we lost romeo but adding two 6-9 guys should help at least if nothing esle to give us some front line depth.not to many mac teams have one let alone two decent big men.

the only thing is things can change quickly on football.if your third team qb you are only two spots away from starting.with injuries,and academic problems you never know.i wish the kid well but sometimes it's better to work through things in life.look at our rb situation last year.kennedy was beat up last year,and allen was out for the year.thing can change quickly.

say what you want about the kid but he was probably our best offense player last year asa freshmen.that does not say much about the level of offensive talent we had last year when you best player is a freshmen.

hopefully the kid will change. after he has to get a job in the real world.he is a young kid and hopefully will come around before his eligbilty is up.

while i did not want temple in the mac because of the 13 team.i still think they will be competitve in the mac.there are plent of winnable games in the mac east.now if you drop buffalo,and temple someone would have to come back over to the east.the mac either needs to add one more or drop someone.in the unbalanced schedule just like b-ball someone gets the shaft.in b-ball we had to go to toldeo but they did not have to come to akron.while i realize football is different than b-ball i am just trying to show what an unbalanced schedule does.

skip zip i agree 100%.the new mac stadium will help us recruit the best kids that do not go to osu penn state ect.still we have seen what top level mac teams can do with good talent.big ben's miami team is a good example.no more excuses about our facilities holding us back.jd needs to start winning now.
