gp where do you get the offense did not come through in big games? it was more like the defense did nothing in big games.we beat marshall two times. the offense scored 31 against wisconsin. all i know is the offense for a few years averaged over 30 points a game. jd has not come close to that yet.at the same time our defense under jd is alott better.

say what you want about winter,s but his teams scored points.you can they never came through in key games,but the fact is the defense did absolutley nothing to help the offense win games either.

saying the ol will be better is pretty much my thoughts also. last years was not very good. if we can rush for positive yards in a game that will be an improvment.

i think the d-line will be fine just no depth. we have guys who may not have started but saw pleanty of pt. if we have some injuries there things could get ugly though.what scare me is the new qb,and o-line. we have plenty of winnable games.there are plent of winnable games on the schedule. i think the occ we will be lucky to go 2-2.

hopefully the o-line will be better than last year.i think the dl will be ok.most of these guys got pt last year. injuries are going to be the key. we don't have much line depth on either side of the ball.

luckily we open with army.im not saying it's going to be an easy game,but a winnable game. it will give the ol,and qb some time to work things out.

if somone knows what happened to him / then to say things is pointless.im sure everyone on this board did some stupid things when tey were 18-21 also. people need to start looking in the mirror before critizing others.

any team always a chance.usually when a mac wins a game like top 25 team you need turnovers. while i think our defense should be pretty good our offense was terrible last year at the end of the season.hopefully it will be better this year,but how much.

i love the zips, but they osu pretty much hand picks there team.the only good thing is we open up with army.even though they lost people osu they will find a way to replace them.they probably won't have the offense from last year.at the same time we had touble geeting postive yards rushing against some mac teams let alone scoring.

the only issue is how much was dk hurt last year. we don't really know? he was not the same back as the first few games.im not making excuses just hopefully the guys is healthy to see what he can do.

good points. we need the offensive line this year more than ever.we have to able to run the ball with a new qb.i guess the running game can't get much worse than last year though. if we can rush for positive yards then that's a good thing.

all good post. the only real weakness is see is at pg.we have plenty of bodies in the front line for next year. even if the kid from pa,and bardo can come in, and give j.wood some rest we should be ok.we still have mcknight and quade for the front line help.

say what you want about harvey is was the one guy one this team coming back who could make big plays.im not trying to get on jd because it's the players who have to produce on the feild. if people think we are better team without d.harvey (whatever.)i just hope the guy comes back.not to sound negative ,but i just don't see this team going over 6-6 this year.at the same time we do play in the mac not the big ten;so there are plenty of winnable games on the schedule.it seems like every year there is a team in the mac that surprises eveyone. hope that will be us.

i think the schedule stinks.if we dont win the army game we could start out 0-4.how did the indiana game get changed. we also have western,and central not easy games. not to sound negative,but i think 6-6 would be a good mark since we have no kicker ,replacing the entire o-line,and qb.

i like the idea of one division for basketball. if we had that this year no way toledo goes to the nit. we need to play every team twice to make it fair. i think all the teams in the mac east would have been better off with a one divsion conference.

my point was about why we did not make the nit. i never thought we would make the ncaa tourney after lsoing to miami. everyone keps talking about our easy schedule.we won 26 and did not make the nit. we won less games last year ,and did make it and won a road game. as long as we are in the mac our b-ball program will go no where regardless of our w/l, or schedule strength. hopefully we willbe able to keep the coach,but if im kd why would i want to stay after what happened.

never going to happen. it's about the big conferneces making $$$,and putting teams in the tourney. it's how the big ten and other major conferneces get six-eight teams in every year while the mac gets one.

im sick of hearing how our schedule was the reason we did not make the post season. we were 13-3 in our conference. we beat teams that are in the nit ,and ncaa tourney.while i did not think we would make the ncaa nor do probably alott people.winning 26 games and not make the nit was total b.s.if the university sits by and does nothing about it i think we will eventually lose kd.just like we lost huggins.

we do not have to be independant in anything except football. with 12 games now we have a little bit more leverage in football scheduling as an independant.there are plenty of good b-ball conferences that would take akron for all sports except football. we really need to start looking at. i hope the administration is listing to kd.

like i said in my other post.we need to look at another conference even if it's b-ball only.if we have to go indi for football for a few years who cares. the alternative is losing our coach,and unable to re-cuit anyone. the slap is we won more games this year,and beat temple last year to boot.

i agree with zipboy. the university needs to do something. if it means joining another conference to b-ball,and go independant for football. i say do it. if not we will lose another coach just like we lost huggins.temple wanted in the mac for football let em have them.

forget the two divison formatt for basketball.having two divisons doe not matter anyways because all the teams are in the tourney.while it would cut down on the occ schedule this at least would make all the teams play each other 2x. nothing against toledo ,but we did not have a chance to play you on our court.im not saying we would have won. the point im making is unbalanced schedule is not fair to the teams in the east. then people would quit complaing also when we play garnder web also.

the sad thing is kd will be gone. as much as he loves akron i can't see how he will stay here. i hope i am wrong,but we lost huggins because of football.don't make the same mistake again.get out of the mac now.

the zips can go in a few different directions none of which are good for both programs.. as for b-ball i think if we stay in the mac it will kill our b-ball program. on the other hand what do you do then about football. if you can get into a b-ball conference that is 1-aa in football?i think we are good fit for the mac in football.especially with the way our stadium is right now.the mac for b-ball is another story. we are stuck unitl the adminstration decides what to do.
