nothing personal against steve ,but he acts like we can see the game on tv.

the penalties are killing us.

all i a saying is there are other problems on the team.like personal fouls, two of them. getsy is getting all the blame for everything.he did not miss the two fg goals.

zips should win big.no excuses. buffalo is terrible.up until last week they had not even scoed a td. they scored against wmu late in the ame after it was well decided. if we can't beat buffalo then we should not be d-1. even without getsy or bigss we should still win big. akron 28 buffalo 10. go akron.

the rubber bowl did not stop 25 k last year,marshall ,and 35k when we played Can't in the opener a few years ago. if we win the fans will show up. no doubt a new stadium on campus would help, but if you don't win for how long? if we win the fans will show at the rubber bowl. as for comments on the board being negative. some of the fans have been following the program for years, and paid a ton $ of money to frezze our butts off to see losing teams year after year.while i try to be positive ,and not overeact after one game i can see why some of the posters are so negative. i think the two wins got the expectations way to high.i did not think the cmu game would be easy, and was not surprised at the outcome.

tone of the reasons for the turnaround last year was who we were playing. granted we were learning a new system with a new coaching staff. we also were playing ou, Can't, and ucf. three bad teams. when we played miami they ripped our defense apart. we have ball state ,Can't,and ou at the end of the year.no reason we can not to the same thing again based on the competition. if we can beat buffalo, and army we have a shot at winning six to seven games;which is not bad nased on a rebuilding year.

i totally agree with the previous post. we just need to pound buffalo.no excuses or free passes on this game. they are a terrible team with no offense.

now maybe everyone will get off the qb's back. im sure the coaches see every guy in practice, and will play the best qb. i don't think jd say's "im playing getsy i dont care if cost me my job ,and even though he is really the fourth best qb we have." kinda strange how the other coaches from purdue,and niu pointed out how good of a qb he was yet according to some he is not the answer. well then who is??????? on our team.

the out come of the game really didn't suprise me. cmu beat miami at home.they did lose to penn state.penn state destroyed minn ;which beat purdue.im not trying to compare scores all,but cmu is probably a better team than arkon. that and given the fact we came off big win last week usually means trouble. we need to win big next week. no excuses!! if we can't beat ,or struggle against a terrible buffalo team we don't belong in 1-a. the biggest problem i see is we have is going to miami,and winning.we have never been able to do that. there is no reason to point fingers at any players. if we can't run the ball, you can't blame getsy for that.it's amazing how a good running game ,and all of sudden the wr will be wide open. the game is over. we need to move on ,and drill buffalo.

it would have been nice to d.earl back this year. we juts lost to many lb's this year to replace them; plus add some depth.

that's true. we did seem to wear down in the 4th qtr in both games.i think if we had more depth at lb,and dl you can keep people fresh.especially against the pass .it does wear a team out chasing the qb all day,and the dbs are running with the wr. im sure the d will get better, but this is not the best d we have had. as much as i hate to admit it faust had a few good lbs when he was here. keys,clark ,dunn,hilk, ect. wasn't jt a faust recruit to?go akron.

not to be negative because at this point of the season im thrilled we are 2-1. i don't care what defense we were in we still could not stop the passing attack. we knew they were going to throw the ball every play in the fourth qtr ,and will still could not stop them. purdue almost scored 50 on us. to call this the best defense ever ????? most of the mac teams don't play defense. i watched bg defense get beat up to ;so our defefense is no worse than any ther mac teams though. i think jd needs one or two more years to get all the players he needs for us to have a decent defense. go akron!!!

at least in their history with sipe,kosar they have played for afc championships.we have not even madethe championship game let alone won it. i sat through almost 20 years of some faust 1-10,owens 2-9 which can't compare to even some of the browns worsts seasons.

the rubber bowl has zero to do with attendance. the reason people don't go is we have won nothing. notice when we play in a big game mashall last year that matters, the fans show up. we could have a brand new downtown staduim ,but if we don't win it won't matter.no one will show up. i dont know any program that draws fans that loses year in year out. everyone loves a winner! that's the bottom line.

i have to disagree. a loss is not a loss when your playing top 25 team, first game ,and on the road. there is a big difference when your only down 10 points at the end of the third quarter, and have the ball. there is a difference from last year when penn state/virgina was scoring at will on our defense,and making the zips look silly. the guys at least were in the game, and playing hard. thats all you can ask for is a chance to win a game and know the guys are playing as hard as they can. last year we were totally outclassed by the big boys niu,penn state virgiana. this year for the first game with new starters everywhere minus frye i thought we played really well. jd had the team ready to play. we may habe lost but i am alott happier after the first game verses last year at penn state.

i have to agree with c/k it looks the race for the division is wide open. hopefully we can pull it together next week ,and pull out a win before mac play. niu, and miami look very beatable.at the begging of the year i never thought we would have a chance to win the divison. now it looks like it's wide open with every team but buffalo in the mix.

im not into moral victories ,but the the same time chance of any mac team playing a big ten team on the road and winning is slim at best. not that it can't be done,but we are playing with a new offensive line, and qb.we lost the best qb the school has ever had. our defense has never been good for the last decade. we have a bunch of freshman on our two deep. i think what that means is our future is going to be bright for the next few years.these first three games though are going to be tuff ones;so im not going to be to upset if things don't go well.go akron.

the only thing i think we can do is try to get the ball to our wr ,and biggs in the short passing game. i don't think we will have alott of time to throw deep, or run. we do have some great skill people if they can get in the open feild. i have no idea what to expect from our defense. i don't think purdue can run it down our throat like wisky did to bg. at least i hope not.

NIU gave michigan a good game. they turned the ball over four times which cost them. BG offense is scary after watching them play wisconsin. they could light us up with alott of points. i agree this game may be a low point ,but we still have some tough mac games.hopefully we can get our freshman some valueable pt. we play some winnable games after the first three,and build from there.

how is the kids talent wasted if he can block? i case you didn't know we have a doak walker canidate in the backfield. i guess the coach is supposed sit him while our fb's get more carries?

not trying to be negative, but from everything ive read purdue is going to be loaded. i don't think this game will be a good indicator of how good of a team we can be. the first game with a new qb and o-line,and i would be happy for the team to just play well.if we can win one of the first three games we have a good chance for a winninng season. go akron.
