i think we will be fine at wr. hixson and montgomery were good wr no doubt. ja has the potential to be one of the best wr at akron. he has proven that in the mcb.we are strong at te.both our te can catch the ball which most mac schools don't have. the only downside is no proven second ,and third wr. someone needs to step up since since they could double team jb. kennedy is also a fine reciever out of the backfieild. the rb postition is another matter. i think kennedy will be ok,but there is no else behind him with any pt. the one thing all the rb have going for them is our ol. a good ol ca make an average back look good,and a good back look great.

i do think jd deserves a raise, but a third class citizen is over the top.most of these coaches even asst. make alott more than the average person. they also get to do what they love to do. akron is not osu!!theydo not have 100,00 fans per game,and huge tv contracts.no mac school does. most d-1 school make nothing, or lose money on football.

it's not a major deal,but the point i was making is that this coach jumped from bg to utah to fla taking a load of $$$$$$$$$ with him. he has the nerve to complain when someone who has one year left wants to transfer to another school.

they had an article on yahoo sports about coaches complaning about the new transferrules. urban meyers was complaing about the new rule. give me a break. this is a guy who went from bg, to utah, to fla. all along the way he got a ton of cash, and did he care about the kids he left. yet he is complaing when some kid who gets a degree wants to transfer to another school. this guys needs to practice what he preaches!!!

i like our o-line this year,but at times they had some personal fouls, and penalties at the worst times. if they can improve that area then their is no reason our 0-line won't be one of the best in the mac.

did i read this right 6-1, 215 ,and ran a 4.62 and is only a sophmore.pretty impressive.

i don't think kd is going anywhere. jd may be another matter. what's funny is some think the university has a blank checkbook to give the coaches whatever they ask for. most universties lose $$$$$$$ on fottball.if you don't have it kinda hard to pay for it. we are not the big ten with big tv contracts,stadium revenues ect. you have to make the best of the situation.akron is no different than any other mac school. football loses $$$.

if the kid is half decent he will get some pt.i like our starting dl, but we don't have any depth.most mac schools don't.this is great opportunity for some of the younger guys to get some pt along the d-line.

i am worried about he d-line. we saw what happened with memphis. the three guys you mentioned all are good, but we have no depth.we held williams for the first half.after that he got big yards.hopefully the offense can run the ball this year and play ball control.still we are one or two injuries away at the lb and dl from the defense dropping off alott. the one place where we have dpeth is the db's. with pace back we are solid there.

i do agree gp. i don't want to see akron play 1 aa teams. the more mac games would make the confernece schedules more balanced. the only point i was making that we only have a few months before the season starts. it might not be that easy to get a d-1 team to come to akron becuase most teams have the schedule already filled thi year.i would rather play 1 aa team at home then go on the road for all four non conference games.it's easy to say don't play a 1aa team,but unless we want to play on the road. we may not have a choice.

does anyone know who the 4th game this year is? we need a home game, and would not be to upset if was a 1-aa team. given the cirumstances with three road games we need a easy game at home.

im sure you won't see the usual posters on this board after we lost last time. they only come out of the woodwork when we lose.

your absolutely right gp.we had no momentum coming in. we only beat a 20 win team in Can't at home,and beat western by 15. we had nooooooo moooo.

give kd a break.kd did not miss the foul shots at the end of the game or let toledo get all those offensive rebounds.at the same time i dont know why he never let peterson play.toledo at one time had no one over 6'5 on the floor yet they were getting reboundsover our guys. no excuse for that.if wood does not come back next year 100% we are going to be in trouble on the boards. kd still won 19 and 22 games,and toledo was a hot team coming in the tourney;so i will cut kd some slack. hopefully we will get a chance to redeem oursleves in the nit.

we need wood back healthy to have any chance of a great team. we need at east two good post players.as good as conyers is supposed to be he is not 7 foot.hopefully wood and one of younger guys can come through.if not i just dont see how the current guys are going to be able to rebound against the better mac teams.

buffalo was 17-11.winning on the road against a decent mac team is not automatic. we can still beat Can't and win the mac tourney. in all reality we were not going to get an at large bid anyways.not to make excuses for the performance tonight,but the mac tourney is all that matters.it would be nice to beatCan't, and leave their season ending on a sour note.

after the game i have to agree with sloopy,and a few other posters. we are in a downward spiral. we should beat ou by 50. our guards looked real tired. if the game would have went one more second we would certianly ave lost. the team should undefeated. we have only won 20 games ths season with two to go. if the team keeps playing like this we will be lucky to make to the gund. kd better have bought them all loud alarm clocks. as tired as the guards are they will probably sleep in, and miss the mac tournament.

good point .theyhad five days rest. the kids are 18-22 years old. if they are tired then it's an issue with overtraining in practice.not from playing games.

i still dont understand why dp is not playing time. i know he shot 0-3 but still had three rebounds and 1 assist in 7 min. our leading rebounder had 7. we need his scoring since were are getting much out of some other players either. all of a sudden we are spiraling down. give me a break. we lost two road games. one to a top 50 r.p.i. team.it'not like we lost at home to cmu.

kd has done a hell of a job considering all the injuries and other issues the team has had. peterson of a few years ago was the 1 or 2 scoring option for this team. not having him at 100% kills the us as far as us scoring points. we have not had jw for about two years now; which does not leave any depth in the front court. if we can make the either the ncaa and nit would be a credit to kd.if we had those two guys this team the games like Can't and clemson might have been different.

i thought the memphis game really showed the lack of depth on the defense. if we can fix that i think our 1st team is a pretty good defense.

i think that could be great news. i think next year we are going to all the these guys because our wr corp took some graduation hits.
