  1. FYI.............NIU BA/Loyola (Chicago) MBA over here, sorry.
  2. Help!I'm in my hotel room in Beijing with my Zip's tee shirt on looking for a game tracker...........and frikin can't find one! Anyone help out?
  3. Man.............you have too much time on your hands. Do you have a full time gig or what?
  4. From the only Huskie Alum you guys know..............The only way to stop this crap, here and elsewhere, is to line up the immediate family of the assassin and shoot them all...............dead. That might slow down this BS. These guys think nothing of sacrificing themselves, but might think twice about sacrificing their entire families.
  5. Thank you GoZips. You are a gentleman and a wordsmith. The average was set against PSU, but the point is Temple has the ability to draw a team like that to their stadium for a home game. Their stadium can be a huge advantage to them.Go Zips is right..............sorry to put the cherry on this sundae, but GP-1 is among the most loyal and dedicated Zips boosters. He once did the Don Quixote in behalf of UAM and The Boss, and tried to rally all FB alum to the cause almost single handedly................sadly, his hard work has fallen apart. He's paid forward the right to say what he wants.Let him rant guys. He's bright., he brings quality content at about the 50% level, and keeps us pissed and posting. We'd miss him if he were gone (pituiy...........did I just say that? )?
  6. Hey.............this is just about pushing the FB board forward and knowing we have about 7 months of dead space coming. The BIGGEST I've seen was Dominic's endzone catch to take the MACC..............can anything really top that one?
  7. Anthony Davis went down the next week with a severe ankle in the first qtr against UNLV who went on to upset UW. My most significant memory (honest, you'll never believe this) was how big an asshole Barry Alvarez was when he quickly led his players off the field purposfully avoiding the traditional handshake. Alvarez is, was, and will always be the biggest ahole coach we have ever competed against.
  8. Hit the linkie I just bumped into by accident:http://www.redwear.com/news/wedsep102145212003.htmlSure hope it worked
  9. Hi GP This has been read, noted, copied and will be disseminated into the hands of some folks who will be stopping by to say a special hello to you at their first convenient opportunities.I think you probably did this to get a rise from the board, but so what.............the toothpaste is out of the tube and can't be put back. Keep a styptic pencil and bandaides handy when you show up around Akron.................Just kidding Scratch that, no I wasn't.
  10. Joe Novak did a hell of a job with that program. For several years, his teams (and many of his players) were the poster child for MAC excellence. Did y'all know he's a NE Ohio native?
  11. We do have this...................this site is a great place to hang out and have a laugh with good long time fiends! Here's to all you guys

Geez.............I'm a believer, but it was just one game! Not even a whole game btw, they looked bad until about 8 minutes in.nm
  13. Nice schedule.............
  14. From the #1 Superman-lover.........Derrick Anderson is a better thrower than Charlie Frey. Period. Charley Frey has better "people skills" and is a better "teammate" than Derrick Anderson. That is why the staff had grief moving him aside to slot DA #1. The players all knew this also, which is why there was probably an amount of disharmony in the ranks as all that preseason crap went down.Chud is a better OC than Mo. The O-line is better than it was last year..............and better with Tucker back in the mix than it was game one.My big problem with the Browns is that they did not trade him away following the draft, and jacked him around personally. Like every single one of us on the board, Charlie now has to make his way every single day by doing a good job at what he does. We'll all see what happens. As far as opinions go, we each have our own.....................and are entitled to it.Mine is this..............I think he'll fight his way back to a "shot" in some form..................be it an injury to a starter somewhere, or just a chance awarded by a coaching staff where he's once again had adequate time to show his innate leadership skills..............it probably will happen.............and at that time, I hope it's with a team which runs an O not requiring a cannon for an arm, and lets Charlie be Charlie by moving around and creating his opportunities.nm
  15. GP..............you make some very good points, no argument.Know where the suggestions should be directed? Know whose ass you should be kicking? It's not all on the FB staff, it's on the a.d. dept.PS...............anyone notice what is happening these days at The University of Cincinnati?DAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
  16. From my ever increasingly less informed perspective............I just looked at that schedule again (closely and carefully) and it makes me want to puke. About 3 months ago I said I felt sorry for the playas and the staff.............it's still true. However, now I must add I feel sorry for all of us also. That crap's on the a.d.
  17. I hate when posters say this (ala the old "Akron Obsessed") but your rant leaves me with nothing else to add but:I'm with CK too..............Sorry, but it's true............
  18. Good luck!Congrats on all your outstanding accomplishments and good work. What a great steal for Pitt.Damn, how are we going to make it without Mack?????
  19. ok ole buddy, you got me there..............I like JD because he brought defense to UA football.I like JD because he brought Brett, Andy and Getsy who filled holes left by the other staff......and then somehow, got us a game in December.I hope he can turn things around with his "non suburban, non slow and soft" players (if they ever make it on the field more than a season or so).JD's our coach, and he has given us all some fresh thrills over the past 4 seasons...............but most of us want another bowl bid, and this time a victory.
  20. Oops...................Got trigger happy on my copy and paste, sorry guys................What I was trying to say was...........................#1, GP, that statement qualifing only Bobby Pruits teams and UM as worthy, was disrespectful (notice I said disrespectful not "diss") of Northern Illinois Univesity's great teams, Toledo's geat teams and earlier on, some damn fine Western Michigan squads.#2. G..................you add some terrific content to the board, but when you come with this crap "suburban players" why don't you come out and say what you mean? I mean be a man and let it go. We all know code, bring it................nmCrazy football season, keep choppin the wood JD.................crapGo Zips
  21. I think the emergence of "Fear the Roo" helped bring people in also. I've seen a significant increase in the # of tee shirts, hats, sweats, jackets on the street as since that came along.
  22. My bad..............Gary Blackney in 2000 and man was that a cold day.
  23. As Doc said, I really don't want to prolong this but a couple things need to be corrected for the record.............#1. The night of the "Leftwitch Game" Marshall was #19 and #21 in two polls if my memory is correct.#2. Butchies crew went into BG and beat Urban Meyers bunch at home.#3. In those days there was no significance of East Record/West Record and Miami was a bitch in addition to Marshall.#4. Jim Grobe didn't get a promotion to 1AA like our guy did for no reasonAlso, I really wasn't talking about where he got his wins, it was just a comment that (and it's an opinion) the MAC was overall much stronger from 97 to 05 than it is today for some reason. No more on comparisons...............pleeeeeeeeeeeze.
  24. Couple points to check out..............I think the MAC competition was at a higher level during the final 5 years of the prior regime.I also seem to remember, that with the exception of the few 1AA oponents we had to schedule to fill our scheduling holes, the OOC competiton was a bit stronger (with the exception of this season)..............These are not researched, but just instinctual.............Having said that however, I also feel Coach B is doing a better overall job than the prior regime did at the end of it's run. The prior head coach was having one hell of a tough time attracting quality assistants......................probably because the entire football nation knew he was at the end of his leash. This could account for some of the problems..............not all.................but some.I really don't like comparing the two regimes. The overall environments are vastly different (competition level in MAC, facilities, AD just to mention a few) but the expectations are much higher these days due to our accidental championship year.Just my ever increasingly less informed take.Go Zips, Go Tribe, Go Browns..............what a nice year to be a Cleveland fan!
