  1. I'm pissed.Look at how good the opposing team's tickets are.Whoever set this up must have never attended an away game on an opposing team ticket. We ALWAYS get crap seats ALWAYS.Now we had a chance for payback and didn't pull the trigger.I'm pissed.
  2. Way, way, way too early. He's only played one frikin season!Let's see what happens................
  3. Wow..............3 pages in no time. Ya'll must think this is a bigger deal than I see it as.First of all, no matter what lot we qualify for, we always park in "General Public Parking" because that's where all the fun is anyway. We like to walk thru the t/gate parties, see old alum, stop for a "home made" at CK & Docs', and just generally soak up the (limited though it has been) game day atmosphere.UAM tried to do the "priviledge parking t/gate thing" last couple seasons, and it was a failure................the best fun is back at the fence.Secondly, the "General" area is the easiest to get out of after the game.............we ususally wait around a while, then cut "cross country" and out. Bingo. So I really don't see this as a big deal. However, having said all that, the "tone" and "touch" of the letter seemed a little ham handed.............Pat, or whoever wrote it could have handled the changes more diplomatically..............but it's too late now.Just my 2-cent.............Go Zips.............ILFSITF and thank the Good Lord FB's back!!!!!
  4. I got a call at home from the AD's office, because refunds applied to the early bird season tickets I ordered to get UA Blankets (January/Feb????).............My refund due was over $100 bucks, but like any of you guys would, I gave it back to the FB Program.................the caller chuckled, said that's exactly what they were looking for, why he called, and sincerely appreciated.............Just an FYI...........
  5. Good post, thanks.
  6. Once again.............CK is the truth.nm
  7. Hey ITZ, any news on Biggs or Jay?I've been all over redskins.com and not a peep about Biggsie............
  8. My heart and my gut tell me she's the one who may need the exam.Good on you Bernie.............keep your mouth shut and deal with the situation the best you can.nm
  9. CK..........Is that pic from your collection? Butchie looks thin.............what year? He thickened up later in his career.............could have played LB also.
  10. Good young man, lots of talent, hope he gets a chance to show his skills and doesn't get burried in a crowd of invitees.............Good Luck Biggsie!
  11. Hey CK!Righteous new AVATAR there!
  12. Zac never made the roster (Dallas) which always amazed me.He's such a great guy, he must have had an automatic career waiting for him......probably a situation where he said the h ll with pursuing this (NFL) and he just took off into the rest of his life............He was simply automatic..............and really pulled us out of the fire in many games during his career.............
  13. Climb back in the hole you crawled out of...........you promised to go away.It was time for a change in HC's, and Mike earned the job...........or don't you think so?Oops, you can't answer that..............too bad, UAM would love to see your opinion.Mods...........what about the policy?
  14. Hey CK..........Got any spare pocket change amongst the fuzz? Repository owner may bid on Beacon JournalFriday, April 7, 2006 GREENFIELD The owner of The Repository and nine other daily newspapers is considering whether to bid on the Akron Beacon Journal, one of 12 Knight Ridder papers up for sale. The Akron paper, which went up for sale with 31 other Knight Ridder dailies in November, is worth considering as a purchase, said David Greenfield, Repository publisher and president of Copley Ohio Newspapers, which also owns The Independent in Massillon and the Times-Reporter in New Philadelphia. Copley Ohio is owned by Copley Press.“The Copley Press remains interested in the Akron Beacon Journal and we are likely to continue trying to discern the specific value that newspaper would have for us,†Greenfield said. “Most industry analysts will tell you there is increased value in owning contiguous newspapers like Akron and Canton, or, in the case of our Copley Ohio group, Canton and Massillon,†Greenfield added.“But there is a different equation to each one of those ownership structures, and they are not always equally rewarding.â€For example, a purchase could offer efficiencies in distribution, but little in the way of increased advertising, he said. Or, a deal could expand sales and marketing opportunities, but mean serious production problems.Knight Ridder is selling the Beacon and 31 other dailies to the McClatchy Co. in a $4.5 billion cash and stock deal. But McClatchy announced the day the deal was reached that it planned to re-sell a dozen of those papers including The Beacon, Philadelphia Inquirer and San Jose Mercury News. McClatchy, based in Sacramento, said the 12 papers don’t meet its growth-market criteria, or they compete with papers it already owns.McClatchy hopes to time the resale to coincide with its closing of the entire Knight Ridder deal, and use the proceeds to reduce debt.Bids were due for the papers last week, but McClatchy has not commented.Greenfield said Copley corporate offices in La Jolla, Calif., will be looking at Beacon financials from the current owner before making any decisions.“Each scenario is different,†Greenfield said. “In Copley Ohio, and in the case of Copley Press in general, we are looking at the long-term potential.â€Greenfield also said Copley wants to protect its existing papers and improve the business and service to customers.Privately held Copley publishes 10 daily, nine weekly and a biweekly newspapers in Ohio, California and Illinois.Knight Ridder was forced to put itself up for sale in November by its largest shareholders, who were dissatisfied with the company’s lagging share price.McClatchy is paying $4.5 billion in cash and stock for the Knight Ridder papers, and assuming $2 billion of Knight Ridder’s debt. Analysts believe the 12 papers McClatchy has for sale could bring as much as $1.4 billion. After the papers are sold, McClatchy’s 32 newspapers would be second nationwide in daily circulation behind Gannett, publisher of USA Today, and rank fourth in revenue behind Gannett, Tribune Co. and the New York Times Co.The deal also would give McClatchy a stronger presence on the Internet through Knight Ridder’s one-third stake in CareerBuilder, an online job posting business co-owned with Gannett and Tribune, and the Real Cities Network, a grouping of 110 local Internet sites, and a 49 percent interest in The Seattle Times.
  15. Really? Who's? Ball State? 0-7 Army? Central Michigan? Ahole Miami? Not to sound neg, but we aren't anywhere just yet...............and we lost our arguably 3 best players in Jay, Dom and Biggsie.
  16. Cap...........Paint it however you want, but 1 home game in the first 6 sucks. It's weak.Imagine how these guys (especially the Seniors) will feel loading themselves onto busses every Thursday night or Friday to go into someone else's house. Even if it's just to the east, it's still the other guys joint.I'm afraid by the time we come home for Miami at THE FRIKIN END OF OCTOBER, our guys will be whipped..........even worse if we're trying to dig ourselves out of a 2-4 hole.............Want to predict the attendance for that game? 5K? Yea, we'll be there...........I just don't like it and I suspect nobody sacked up for us.
  17. Hate to say it, but hang this crap right on the new staff...........were they afraid to offend their peers (the other AD offices) by standing up for UA?Some weeks ago I ran into UAM, and he was "giddy" about the upcoming season's schedule...........what with slipping the K SU ticket into our packets as a "home game" and all...............what the hell happened between then and yesterday? Did our guys cave on us?I feel really bad for the players.............pump them up as we will try to do, this is a dog.
  18. Can I add a twist to this thread?IMHO, JD's style is to stay "closed" on PR. He's been this way the whole time he's been here.No judgement on my part, it's just the way things seem to be with him at the wheel.
  19. Hey ZIP...........Sorry to get off topic a little, but I know you are going to look at this thread.I'm sure I can speak for the hard corp guys here, and we hope you are OK with all the flooding and water that's devistated the islands................stay safe and well!ZP
  20. All right!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Here we are back at the deadest time of the year again...............Any of you cats around campus able to tell us anything about Spring Workouts?
  22. Haven't posted in a while, so here's my stadium ranking based on recent visits:OhioEMUWMUMarshallBuffaloMiamiUACMUBGCan't StateNIUPlease don't ask me to explain...............just a feel.I've driven by Toledo but that can't count.............missed the ass kickins we've taken twice recently at Ball...........
  23. Some posts are like a fart . They break air, stink and blow away.............end of story.
  24. Hey KD!Another "Monkey" of your back right? What a superb half time adjustment to both the game plan and the aholes of your players . Somebody kicked some butt in the locker room I'm betting.Really funny how KD lays it out in the post game.............."I thought maybe my guys were a little too geeked at the start of the game"...............yea, right. They looked like they had glue on the bottom of their shoes on the offensive end of the floor.I was really happy for Darryl. What a classy guy in every respect. He WAS US in the first half.Officiating? Geez...............Nate.............if you read this crap, keep "choppin wood".............you'll be OK, it's just a matter of workin thru this "flat spot" in what will be a great career.I've got to shout out to the K ent players who canned those outrageously long 3's at the end of the game...............did the rest of you see that? Those launches were just inside the 10 secnd line...............gawd that made me nervous...............Ced was a real difference maker today. He was the ONLY one who could penetrate, and man were his cuts and drives critical.Matt..................too much! Great job on big G, and nice work staying out of foul trouble. What a great day................ZW tells me not to sweat too much, it's only year two of a looooooong run..........man are we in for some fun if he's right!
  25. How THE BOSS got his gloss……….a UAM story.Early on in his tenure at UA, Mike was connecting flights at some airport I can’t remember now………..and spotted me walking down the concourse to my connecting gate.He called out (at that time I really didn’t know him well) and stopped me. I knew who he was, but he reintroduced himself anyway…………..like somebody else posted, Mike’s got an easy way with people and can move in and out of social situations with great ease.We yuked it up for a few minutes, when suddenly his cell phone rang. He gave it one of those cursory looks in advance of blowing it off…………….when he suddenly blurted out “oops, sorry ZP but I’ve got to take this one, it’s THE BOSSâ€â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦..He told THE BOSS he bumped into ZP from the famous “Blue Board†(that’s how long ago this was) and MT passed along a message UAM gave to me…………he said “THE BOSS†sends his regards.Bingo, that’s how UAM glossed MT soooooo many years ago………….Just another UAM story before we see him for the last time in blue and gold.
