  1. Seems to be free http://livestream.com/accounts/14596013/events/6228021/player?width=560&height=315&autoPlay=true&mute=false
  2. Game day story http://www.ohio.com/sports/zips/university-of-akron-football-zips-hope-to-set-tone-for-season-in-opener-against-vmi-1.709146
  3. Wow. These fellas don't give up. http://www.ohio.com/news/local/rubber-bowl-owners-face-new-obstacle-to-reopening-the-stadium-1.709162 Despite the struggles in moving forward, the investors are still interested in breathing new life into the stadium, which has fallen into significant disrepair.
  4. I saw him at the Apple Store at Summit Mall. Didn't say, 'What's up,' as he was talking w/ a sales rep, but the dude is the real deal. His shoulders must be literally 2-feet broad & has a little waist. Long arms. Dude's physically legit.
  5. That's what I can't get over. My, how times have changed. Lol
  6. I'm probably too excited & thus overly optimistic but... 1. How many sacks will the Zips' D have? = 3 or more. Defense is gonna be fired up with a lot to prove. They're gonna take it out on the Keydets. 2. How many receiving yards will JoJo have? = 100 yards or more. Woodson is going to be targeting his new weapon & I anticipate JoJo breaking a long one. 3. How many yards rushing will Warren Ball have? = 130 or more. Bowden will keep Ball & our starting OL in the game till into the 4th Quarter to give our guys more time to gel. (D-1 needs to allow scrimmages.)
  7. As do I. I wouldn't want it any other way. Bowden's hilarious. He rambles. He tells it like it is. He's self-deprecating. He's all over the map. He answers each question with a five-minute answer. He goes down rabbit trails and eventually ends up back where the questioner began. He's eccentric. He's intelligent. He's enthusiastic & entertaining. He's committed to Akron. After around 25 years of FBS football the stars finally aligned for us & brought us Coach Bowden.
  8. I think 48 sounds about right, but I'll go 48-3 Edit: That would be if we let it all hang out. We may keep our cards close to the vest so we have some surprises up our sleeve for Wisky next week. If that's the case: 35-3 just running Ball between the tackles. Lol.
  9. More Bowden interviews! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lsjq9NLy1dk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJgUXDip7aE
  10. It's amazing how quickly you get out of shape. And it only gets worse the older you get
  11. How on earth did GCU afford a facility like that?! Wow.
  12. If we consistently play like we did in the 2nd half of the Seattle game... watch out! And if 6'7" Lundt keeps goal like he did the first two matches... Ben Lundt... Ivan Drago... "Death from above."
  13. Press conference https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBF2qoIHhDI
  14. Excellent article! Thank you for sharing. I always thought a DT was a DT was a DT. Didn't know the difference between a DT & NT - thought it was just semantics. Love ZN.o. Learn something on here almost every day.
  15. Thankfully, I don't believe they are. But excellent point, none-the-less.
  16. And I'll say this again... because I obviously know better than Amato & Bowden. Newman Williams, 6-2, 273. He needs to be at LB or DL. Not 2nd string TE. Get him on the field.
  17. +1. I remember hearing Bowden mention that Copeland was playing at a high level - a level that they thought he could reach coming out of high school. But that high?
  18. WOW. This was an excellent program!!! Every Zips fan should give this a listen!
  19. Much appreciated! I ALWAYS enjoy listening to Zips Live but am often unable due to other obligations.
  20. http://www.ohio.com/sports/zips/university-of-akron-football-competition-at-cornerback-a-strong-point-for-zips-1.707845
  21. 5 observations from a "Soccer for Dummies" reader. 1. Seattle is really good. 2. In the 2nd half the Zips looked absolutely amazing. 3. Hinds is going to be special. 4. We've really found something special in Lundt. Wow. 5. Adam Najem was awfully quiet. (Here's where my Soccer For Dummies soccer knowledge is definitely showing - Najem was named to the Akron Classic All-Tournament Team.)
  22. Any chance the BJ makes Beaven the Zips' beat reporter. Unlike our current beat reporter, Beaven seems to have a little zest for the gig.
  23. http://www.ohio.com/blogs/varsity-letters/abjvarsity-1.279974/st-v-m-senior-justin-sampson-pledges-to-play-football-at-the-university-of-akron-1.707209 “During the summer, Justin said Akron was No. 1 on his list, and he had eight or nine Division I scholarship offers from schools such as Boston College, Kent State and Toledo. He feels comfortable at Akron and likes the coaches.”
  24. I'll definitely look for this article in tomorrow's ABJ/Ohio.com: http://www.ohio.com/blogs/varsity-letters/abjvarsity-1.279974/2016-abj-football-preview-scheduled-to-be-available-friday-1.706933 The 2016 Akron Beacon Journal High School Football preview section is scheduled to be in print and available to readers in the newspaper and online on Friday. There will be several previews about teams and leagues, capsules on teams and feature stories on top players and top teams. Additionally, the ABJ will publish an article on area senior players who have committed to play football at the University of Akron. Nine local players have pledged to be Zips in 2017, and there could be more commitments coming in the near future. UA already has several area players on its roster that helped the Zips win the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. Is the sleeping giant finally awakening?
