  1. Not so fast, ZippyRulz! I was watching the Iowa game and thought I heard "Akron" as well, but it is actually "Akrum." Akrum Wadley. I had to check it myself! Here's Iowa's roster. http://www.hawkeyesports.com/roster.aspx?path=football&roster=224&sort=position Btw, I love the way Iowa displays their online roster. Well done.
  2. Always look forward to both your football and basketball posts, wadzip.
  3. Gilbert. Our next NFL LB
  4. Excellent pics, Good Doctor! ALWAYS look forward to these! Glad to see they let you on the field.
  5. Gotta be glad to get this scholarship back. I don't want to say JD regressed during his senior year, but he sure didn't progress. The player I saw play as a junior had a lot of potential. The player I watched play a handful of times as a senior wouldn't set foot on the court at Akron.
  6. That game was UGLY. And kinda boring. That first half was difficult to sit through. I hope the 12K return. I thought Ball looked amazing. When he wasn't being hit as soon as he touched the ball, he's got a very real burst and strength. Honestly, what a crying shame he sat the bench for 4 years @ OSU. Frenchy mentioned on postgame his score tonight was his 1st career TD. What a waste of talent. He could have been a 3-year starter for 100 other D-1 programs. As someone mentioned, the D needs leadership. We miss Cody Grice. I saw him at the game. Maybe get him back on the sideline? Frenchy mentioned during postgame that the D POTG was DeAndre Scott precisely because he gathered both the D & O on the sideline (when the Zips were only up by 2 in the 3rd Q.). I guess he chewed some butt & the Zips immediately went on to score 21 unanswered. Maybe that's precisely the development the D needed going forward. Maybe the D has found it's leader. And those were the best looking Zips uniforms I've ever seen. To my dying day I'll maintain that the gold helmets are my favorite... but not really. Those uni's we wore tonight are the absolute best in all of college football. I take that back... in all of football. Period. (With the lone possible exception being the San Diego Chargers.) Where's Jelani Hamilton?
  7. I noticed that too. Definitely a little faded since the Info opened. I did notice on the scoreboard they replaced the A-Roo head with the Z logo. It looks sharp; love the Z. Now not only do we have the world's most famous mascot, but we've got the world's coolest logo.
  8. How's the turnout for the festival?
  9. Seems to be free http://livestream.com/accounts/14596013/events/6228021/player?width=560&height=315&autoPlay=true&mute=false
  10. Game day story http://www.ohio.com/sports/zips/university-of-akron-football-zips-hope-to-set-tone-for-season-in-opener-against-vmi-1.709146
  11. Wow. These fellas don't give up. http://www.ohio.com/news/local/rubber-bowl-owners-face-new-obstacle-to-reopening-the-stadium-1.709162 Despite the struggles in moving forward, the investors are still interested in breathing new life into the stadium, which has fallen into significant disrepair.
  12. I saw him at the Apple Store at Summit Mall. Didn't say, 'What's up,' as he was talking w/ a sales rep, but the dude is the real deal. His shoulders must be literally 2-feet broad & has a little waist. Long arms. Dude's physically legit.
  13. That's what I can't get over. My, how times have changed. Lol
  14. I'm probably too excited & thus overly optimistic but... 1. How many sacks will the Zips' D have? = 3 or more. Defense is gonna be fired up with a lot to prove. They're gonna take it out on the Keydets. 2. How many receiving yards will JoJo have? = 100 yards or more. Woodson is going to be targeting his new weapon & I anticipate JoJo breaking a long one. 3. How many yards rushing will Warren Ball have? = 130 or more. Bowden will keep Ball & our starting OL in the game till into the 4th Quarter to give our guys more time to gel. (D-1 needs to allow scrimmages.)
  15. As do I. I wouldn't want it any other way. Bowden's hilarious. He rambles. He tells it like it is. He's self-deprecating. He's all over the map. He answers each question with a five-minute answer. He goes down rabbit trails and eventually ends up back where the questioner began. He's eccentric. He's intelligent. He's enthusiastic & entertaining. He's committed to Akron. After around 25 years of FBS football the stars finally aligned for us & brought us Coach Bowden.
  16. I think 48 sounds about right, but I'll go 48-3 Edit: That would be if we let it all hang out. We may keep our cards close to the vest so we have some surprises up our sleeve for Wisky next week. If that's the case: 35-3 just running Ball between the tackles. Lol.
  17. More Bowden interviews! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lsjq9NLy1dk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJgUXDip7aE
  18. It's amazing how quickly you get out of shape. And it only gets worse the older you get
  19. How on earth did GCU afford a facility like that?! Wow.
  20. If we consistently play like we did in the 2nd half of the Seattle game... watch out! And if 6'7" Lundt keeps goal like he did the first two matches... Ben Lundt... Ivan Drago... "Death from above."
  21. Press conference https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBF2qoIHhDI
  22. Excellent article! Thank you for sharing. I always thought a DT was a DT was a DT. Didn't know the difference between a DT & NT - thought it was just semantics. Love ZN.o. Learn something on here almost every day.
  23. Thankfully, I don't believe they are. But excellent point, none-the-less.
  24. And I'll say this again... because I obviously know better than Amato & Bowden. Newman Williams, 6-2, 273. He needs to be at LB or DL. Not 2nd string TE. Get him on the field.
