  1. I'm still disappointed that this year's recruiting class didn't have a post player to help ease the loss of Nic. Last season we were all crossing our fingers Nic would return for another year because we all knew how sparse our numbers were in the post. Nic's return gave us an additional year to bolster our frontcourt through recruiting and we failed to do so.
  2. One article posted on ZNO said it was McFadden.
  3. If that's the case then it's a wise move on KD's part. Learn to pick your battles.
  4. Good point.
  5. Those are by far my favorite uni's the Zips have ever donned. Our athletics department truly seems to be often oblivious to the obvious.
  6. Just to frustrate intelligent, articulate folks who actually care about Zips athletics?
  7. OU is toying with WMU. Not even close talent wise. However, WMU is without their big lard arse Stainbrook. [edit:] And, naturally, as soon as I make this post, WMU goes from being doubled-up by OU to being down by only 8. [edit #2:] And it's tied at 30 the half.
  8. If he'd conistently drive without turning the ball over and finish at the rim, of course I'd feel differently about him hanging out around the arc. But sine he doesn't, I wish he'd leave that to our true wings & plant his arse down low where we need him most. As it is, Tree is our only post with a mean streak. I love Zeke, but (just being honest) he is kinda soft. We need Nic's 6'8" & 240lbs. to be banging down low.
  9. Given our plethora of wings and our lack of depth @ 4/5, I'd prefer to see him live in the paint.
  10. I like the grey, of course, I like alternate uni's. It's interesting the article mentioned that the shade of grey, chosen by Nike, is boring. I'm not in 100% agreement with that, but I do feel with the columnist; I prefer a more distinct, bold, darker shade of grey ala Oklahoma State or Washington State. I still know we need old-gold alternates!!! (3 exclamation points! )
  11. +1. He's not helping the team at all right now.
  12. I'm feeling the same way right now. Though the final score won't show it, this was an ugly win. Did it look like we were taking that game seriously?
  13. Tree named STO PLayer of the Game. Congrats, Tree!
  14. Awesome article!!
  15. We already have verbals from 3 running backs. Wonder why we're going after another?
  16. Got this off of Ball State's athletics website: MUNCIE, Ind. - Ball State senior guard Randy Davis (Plymouth, Ind./Plymouth) has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week the league office announced Monday. This is the third time in his career that Davis has been honored by the MAC and the first this season. Davis led the Cardinals to back-to-back road wins last week with victories at Central Michigan and Northern Illinois. His all-around play was a catalyst for the Cardinals as he averaged 9.0 points, 8.0 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game as Ball State improved to 4-1 in MAC play. Davis, the national leader in NCAA Division I in assist/turnover ratio at 3.79, dished out 16 assists in the two games while only committing three turnovers for a 5.33 ratio. He dished out a team-high 10 assists in the Cardinals' 21-point victory at Central Michigan while also scoring seven points and grabbing seven rebounds. He followed that performance up with 11 points and six assists at Northern Illinois. On the year, he leads the team with 106 assists and chipping in 8.5 points per game. While my biggest concern for tonight's game is the Zeke -vs- Jarrod Jones matchup (hoping Big Zeke can neutralize Jones as well as he does Can't's Justin Green) it sounds like Rico's gonna have more than his hands full matching up with Randy Davis.

  18. I'm not a UA alumnus. Just a lifelong area resident.
  19. He was 1st-Team D-1 All-Ohio.
  20. I think of Joe Akron as any Summit County resident (or greater Akron area resident - I live in Stark) who is a sports fan, especially a college sports fan, but who has never been interested in the hometown U.
  21. Here is George Thomas' article on the Zips-Can't game. I didn't see it on Ohio.com yesterday, though the article states it was published on the 22nd.
  22. Sweeeeeet! You say, "recruiting weekend." So the men's b-ball game had something to do with it?
  23. No article from the Beacon Journal's George Thomas?
  24. And here's a very good article by the Canton Repository's Todd Porter. Linky. It's good to see the Rep send a reporter to cover the game. He also includes some postgame quotes that Marla did not, so that is nice. There's also a nice, 21-picture photo gallery from the game. So they sent a photographer as well. However, there aren't any real exciting pictures, as they're mostly of Michael Porinni, Josh Egner & Mark Henniger (all Stark County products). But none-the-less, a coverage job really well done by the Repository!
  25. Another excellent article from Marla Ridenhour. She fleshes out much of what has been pointed out here. M. Ridenhour for the ABJ
