  1. I love UCF Arena. It looks to be exactly what we need @ UA. 10,000 seats looks/seems appropriate. However, it is a basketball arena (which can also host concerts) but not a true multi-purpose arena - which can accomodate hockey/indoor soccer. I prefer basketball arenas as, IMHO, half of the seats for basketball in a multi-purpose arena aren't very good. They're simply too far from the court.Again, I love UCF Arena. I think it's perfect. Pitt's Peterson Events Center is another great arena, but probably a bit too large for UA, as it seats (IIRC) 12,500.
  2. If this is true, how the heck could we still be 2 TD dogs? How awful are we?
  3. Actually, the Canton Civic Center is probably more of a dump than the JAR (and that's saying something), but at least their seats are chair-backed.
  4. Speaking of which, UA should purchase the former Inventure Place building.
  5. who won??Who'd they play?
  6. Akronites drive to rat-bastard-Cleveland. Clevelanders can drive to Akron.Besides, we've absolutely got to hold our own. When Cleveland built Gund Arena w/ the agreement that the Richfield Colesium would shut down as not to compete - it was officially on. "Cleveland+" is an ABSOLUTE sham and mockery. Akron+ needs a development like this.
  7. +1. Keep it classy, Akron.
  8. +1. He's huge. I wish he were lining up @ LB for the football team.
  9. I haven't read through this thread, so please forgive me if I'm just reiterating what has already been posted. However, this topic comes up occassionally & I usually post - more-or-less - the following: I'm of the belief that D-1A school administrators essentially consider athletics a large part of their advertising campaigns. Accountants don't combine the two, but that's how I'm sure school administrators feel about the athletic programs. Schools - outside of the Ivy League, I suppose - almost always receive more "free" publicity over athletic, rather than academic, accomplishments.
  10. What time? And I'm assuming it's open to the public?
  11. Tender feet I'm glad he doesn't have an agent to suggest that he not play and risk further injury to jeopardize his career. So he didnt start because of tender feet but he played the rest of the game? I am glad he was able to play but then why start off the game with three straight runs? Script plays to take advantage of...the #2 running back. Great plan. He didn't finish the rest of the game. He ended up with only 12 carries. Plus, our #2 - Karl Bostick - is pretty good in his own right.
  12. Oh, that's right! I had forgotten about that.
  13. +1 Still one of the most ridiculous, classless things I've ever heard of. Love that Nano ran over to the student section after the game winner, ripped off his shirt and taunted the crowd. Typically not in favor of that type of stuff, but they totally deserved it. Umm, inside joke? What are you guys talking about?
  14. "A lackluster win for FIU Golden Panthers over Akron"
  15. Oooh. Just heard Frenchy state that FIU has 400-some yards to our 160-some. Ouch.
  16. Down by only 3 heading into the 4th! Good, competitieve game! I'm pleased! Man, I wish I could be there. What a beautiful day!
  17. Ahh! I see we scored again! Could someone tell me how we scored our second TD?!
  18. I've missed most of the action d/t a wedding. Did I just hear Frenchy say we only have 5 first downs? That simply will not do.
  19. I thought it was just my laptop... that does suck. +1
  20. I'm in & out here. How did we score our TD?
  21. Here is Tom Gaffney's ABJ gameday article.
  22. ive noticed that... but doesnt that also call for the demolition of the decrepit tennis courts? any source for info there? You guys are referring to the proposed garden-area to the north of FirstEnergy Stadium, right?
  23. +1. He really is! I didn't think much of him last year - looked far too skinny & timid. This year he's transformed into a player who really passes the eyeball test, seems more than comfortable on the field, smooth, calm & pretty fast! A really nice combo. Plus he's got good hands. His demeanor on his TD catch over the middle against VMI was spot-on, as if he'd scored 100 TD's before that one. I like him. Good ol' A.J. Price, on the other hand, looks like it's going to take him a season to adjust.
  24. B&G, it is on. I do believe he just Price-is-Righted your a$ CAREFUL! I couldn't find the clip sans the F-bomb!
