  1. It definitely appeared to me that we were in a 3-4 fairly often.I was pretty surprised that QB formerly known as CJ7 didn't hurt us with his legs at least once or twice. This is more evidence that these LBs are playing really well right now.CJ7 was a 3-Star "Athlete" coming out of high school and I don't remember him out running our linebackers for any considerable gains a single time last Saturday.
  2. I am in 100% agreement about the "satellite" bands. The satellite band visiting my section was one of the many memorable highlights of my day! The band is a HUGE and VITAL part of the college gameday atmosphere and u guys hit it out of the park!
  3. Wow, that sucks. I love that little guy!Plus, I wanted to absolutely pummel Can't into the ground while they were @ full strength. He was their ONLY offensive player that looked dangerous when I went to their opener against Coastal Carolina.
  4. I haven't read this thread, but I can pretty easily tell what it's about. I just wanted to say that I thought the band did a great job! I was pumped and just got during the pregame show as the band formed the Block A just as the fight song was kicking. And I just got goosebumps again by watching a youtube vid of the pregame from Saturday. Again, how the band comes together to form the marching Block A just as the fight song is kicking off seriously gives me goosebumps!!! Everyone I was with thought it was great too.
  5. St. V/M has 3 players I know to watch. I believe they're all juniors? One is named Doran Grant. He's a DB/RB and has been offered by Columbus State. Hopefully he'll stay home & represent for UA! Another is named Murphy. His father is Mark Murphy - Mark graduated from GlenOak & played in the NFL for the Packers & I believe is now on St.V/M's staff. And I also hear that St.V's QB is the real deal. Junior. 6'4". Accurate passer. A future D-1 recruit.I'm planning on going to the game if only to bask in the glory of the Info!Go Akron!
  6. I still like Jacq as the starter, but seeing Rodgers running ability was exciting. It's too bad Jacq is sooo slow (I still can't believe he was originally recruited as a WR? No way.) If we had a QB with just a little more scrambling ability than what Jacq has, man, the the spread offense we run could be devastating. With the defense so spread out it looks like there are running lanes - for a scrambling QB - on nearly every pass play.Btw, does anyone know what kind of scrambling ability Patrick Nicely has? I know he was rated one of the best Pro-Style QB's in the country last year, but in the spread offense it looks to me like a dual-threat QB would be killer.
  7. I didn't have a problem with it either. I didn't leave. I stayed late and basked in the afterglow of a perfect day. But the game was reeeeeally out of hand. Also, I noticed the crowd wasn't making any noise @ all on 3rd downs. I was stomping on the aluminum bleachers, but I was the only person in my proximity trying to raise the roof for the D on 3rd down. I'll also chalk that up to the game's outcome never being in doubt. But I hope the Info is ROCKING for our D on 3rd next week versus Indy!
  8. Ok, was there anyone on ZNO that knew, but who was sworn to secrecy? Lol.That is epic how they pulled that one off. Yesterday just had to be an absolutely amazing day to be a player for the Zips.
  9. The two travelling bands was a FANTASTIC addition!!! The people around me LOVED it!!! BRAVO!!!
  10. THAT...IS...AWESOME!!!Oh, and they looked great too!
  11. So on ZipsZone you can watch on-demand replays of the game? I wasn't aware of that. I thought you had to watch it live?
  12. Good for Cameron. I wish him well. It was pretty evident he wanted to be a Zip but we just didn't have room for him. Good luck, Cameron! Except for when you're playing the Zips, of course.
  13. I agree. Traditional and classic blue jersey w/ gold pants. Though I'm sure a couple times this year they'll break out the all blue look.
  14. You're right. I asked about that @ the open house a couple weeks back & was told the Team Shop won't open @ all this year. I was disappointed to hear that. They do, however, have two souvenier stands ready to go tomorrow - one under the east grandstand, and another under the west.Could they be waiting until next season to fill an official Zips Team Shop with merchandise due to the fact we'll be switching over to Nike next season & have a boat load of entirely new gear?
  15. GREAT shirt!!! I love the Zoo idea. When I was @ Green high school - '91 grad - we sometimes referred to UA as The Zoo because it was such a crazy place! Also, it was a little play on words as zoo sounds like U, so we'd sometimes call it Akron Zoo instead of Akron U.Yeah, we called it Akron U. Lol
  16. Just my two cents, but I hope we can start a "Fear the Roo!" chant. We've got two legit chants now, "Let's go Zips" and "Fear the Roo." I hope we can incorporate both.
  17. Check out these sweet light blue Akron soccer jerseys. Very sweet.Cool soccer jerseysCould this be a foreshadowing of future Zips b-ball & football jerseys?
  18. Could someone post a link to the GoZips.com page w/ the pre-game activities listed... band marching to the Info, team walking into the stadium, ZipsFest, etc.?
  19. Fellas, I'm looking for the pre-game events info, i.e., the time of the Zipsfest & team walking to the stadium, etc. Can someone help me out?
  20. As far as the camera angles go, a consultant from ESPN designed the layout. So whatever ESPN wanted, ESPN got. Can't do any better than how the Info is layed out for television.
  21. Sounds like a future DE.
  22. Congrats RedHawks!See, I LOVE to hate those guys, and I believe the feeling is mutual. Lol. It sucks that we don't get to play them AGAIN this year!As The Great GP1 says, hey MAC, drop Temple!!!
  23. The Barley House it is then. Let's pour in there ZNO and represent!
  24. As long as it feels like a genuine AKRON gathering, I'm all for it. I just don't want to feel like, that as an AKRON fan, that I'm part of a small minority in my own downtown!
  25. I'm at this game right now. Their QB, Gorgio Morgan, looks awful. And they can't run on these guys either. However, Eugene Jarvis looks extremely dangerous returning punts, and their defense looks very good.
