  1. Bump...Hey fellas, I'm not asking for the moon here. A little help?...
  2. That is excellent! A 2-hour pregame show! That's indeed big time! Hope all the tailgaters have this cranked up!
  3. I was thinking the same. For Jacq to do this now, of all times - right before arguably the biggest game in the growing programs history is inexcusable. The team (coaches) really may want to give serious consideration to simply moving forward with Rogers. Anyway, wow, what a blow.
  4. Live Stats doesn't work on my BlackBerry. Could you guys @ the game give us some occassional updates?
  5. Zippers 24Hosers 13
  6. Can someone tell me what time the team bus is supposed to arrive outside the JAR tomorrow for the Zip team walk? Last week quite a few of the players commented about how much they liked the support, so I want to be there this week. Thanks in advance!
  7. Hoban's kicker is the real deal, he could probably start for us tomorrow.Name me a good high school place kicker who WOULDN'T be able to start for us tomorrow. Uhhhhh Igor Iveljic? Hey, he was VERY good at Mentor! Sorry, skip, I couldn't resist Coming out of high school Igor was ranked the #4 kicker in the country and he doesn't even see the field for us! Man, what happened there?!
  8. I've got tears in my eyes!!!
  9. Just stopped by Porky's in the JAR to buy a sweet new Zips hat & saw that the soccer game is officially sold out!Go Zips! Fear the Roo!!!
  10. You guys played the Imperial March?! Good! I was going to post that we NEED to hear that score for our defense!I wasn't aware that you guys had rocked the Imperial March because I'm sitting in the east grandstands GA area and it was a bit difficult to hear the band. But, hey, you get what you pay for, I guess, and I'm in the cheap seats.
  11. I wouldn't die on this hill, but I think we should televise as many games as possible. People are trained to believe that an event is a big deal if it's on tv. We need the people of NEO to start considering Zips games to be a big deal.As an aside - the Info is so well designed and so impressive, that if they would have announced an attendance figure of 40,000 I don't think many would have doubted it.
  12. Zips 24Hosers 17
  13. Oooh, excellent point. I'm sure they will and I'm sure, now that you mention it, that it'll get extremely annoying. The Rowdies will have to drown out the Info announcer!
  14. I was sitting GA 50-yard line & bought a fruit smootie from a walking vendor.
  15. Zips 2Hosers 1
  16. AMEN! The preseason ranking greatly weigh the system & thus largely predetermine the late-season rankings to the advantage of their traditional favorites. The NCAA is a racket and the BCS is a scam.
  17. Pregame was/is great! If you're looking for suggestions for the musical selections for halftime, may I suggest major motion picture scores? I find them both artistic and rocking! Almost anything by John Williams would fit the bill. I think a halftime show featuring the music from Star Wars, Superman, Raiders of the Lost Ark, etc., etc. would be great. Throw in the themes to Spy Hunter and Mission Impossible & man, you probably would have enough great material for every halftime show for the rest of the season! I think the people would love it, and, in playing these orchestral scores - albeit "pop" orchestral scores - I believe the band would definitely retain a sense of artistic integrity.
  18. I hadn't seen this asked or discussed yet. So, does anyone know whether we had a boatload of recruits @ Saturday's opener? I'm assuming we did, but if so, does anyone know who may have been in attendance?
  19. Why in the hell am I able to sit here tonight & watch the silly, little (God bless 'em) McKinley-Lake high school football game and we weren't able to get the freaking Info opener on tv?
  20. It definitely appeared to me that we were in a 3-4 fairly often.I was pretty surprised that QB formerly known as CJ7 didn't hurt us with his legs at least once or twice. This is more evidence that these LBs are playing really well right now.CJ7 was a 3-Star "Athlete" coming out of high school and I don't remember him out running our linebackers for any considerable gains a single time last Saturday.
  21. I am in 100% agreement about the "satellite" bands. The satellite band visiting my section was one of the many memorable highlights of my day! The band is a HUGE and VITAL part of the college gameday atmosphere and u guys hit it out of the park!
  22. Wow, that sucks. I love that little guy!Plus, I wanted to absolutely pummel Can't into the ground while they were @ full strength. He was their ONLY offensive player that looked dangerous when I went to their opener against Coastal Carolina.
  23. I haven't read this thread, but I can pretty easily tell what it's about. I just wanted to say that I thought the band did a great job! I was pumped and just got during the pregame show as the band formed the Block A just as the fight song was kicking. And I just got goosebumps again by watching a youtube vid of the pregame from Saturday. Again, how the band comes together to form the marching Block A just as the fight song is kicking off seriously gives me goosebumps!!! Everyone I was with thought it was great too.
  24. St. V/M has 3 players I know to watch. I believe they're all juniors? One is named Doran Grant. He's a DB/RB and has been offered by Columbus State. Hopefully he'll stay home & represent for UA! Another is named Murphy. His father is Mark Murphy - Mark graduated from GlenOak & played in the NFL for the Packers & I believe is now on St.V/M's staff. And I also hear that St.V's QB is the real deal. Junior. 6'4". Accurate passer. A future D-1 recruit.I'm planning on going to the game if only to bask in the glory of the Info!Go Akron!
  25. I still like Jacq as the starter, but seeing Rodgers running ability was exciting. It's too bad Jacq is sooo slow (I still can't believe he was originally recruited as a WR? No way.) If we had a QB with just a little more scrambling ability than what Jacq has, man, the the spread offense we run could be devastating. With the defense so spread out it looks like there are running lanes - for a scrambling QB - on nearly every pass play.Btw, does anyone know what kind of scrambling ability Patrick Nicely has? I know he was rated one of the best Pro-Style QB's in the country last year, but in the spread offense it looks to me like a dual-threat QB would be killer.
