Yeah, the band will be there. I'll be starting my hour trip north here in a little bit. I'll mention something about happy birthday when I get there.Good news about the band...They are such a huge part of the atmosphere...Love the band!
Call the JAR Ticket Office by 3 PM pick-up at Will Call. They have about 100 tickets left. Or go to the Zips Will Call early and try to buy them there.
Any thoughts on the new uniforms? I thought the tops looked nice. The "shorts" could use someone to check the size on a few of them and go a little smaller. I have never seen a pair of shorts as big/baggy/long as Jeremiah's. Hope KD let it slide, only because it was an exhibition game. This is a minor complaint, but the uniforms looked sloppy as a whole.
I would like to ask you what the real reason is...It can't be the $5 charge, but it has to be something else...Not to sound like Dr. Phil, but just say it is the fact that the Zips were screwed last March and that it could happen again next March, or say it is how bad the JAR is to watch a game...Trust me it is not the five dollars...Hope you stay on board with this team...We need as many people in the stands to cheer on this team.
Great keep pricing people out. Make it more expensive so the next time a big school comes in we have about 2,000 fans in the JAR. Didn't The U learn anything from last year? When they ran promos on tickets, they sold more WARM Pepsi's, cold pizza and a ton of merchandise. I would think that they would wait until the Zips won the MAC before hammering us loyal patrons. Can't wait to have to choose between watching the Browns play or using my season tickets to go and see my Zips beat Hiram College or some other Div. IV team they bring in this year. I'm a season ticket holder since 1995, and feeling a little pinched (if this is true). Looks like I'll have a tough decision to make.
I agree...I've said for the past two seasons that the students should have the side behind the benches...Regular season ticket holders can have the one lower half and upper half of blue seats...But this will never happen, because the U sells so many of those seats...Many of the season ticket holders buy eight seats and only use two tickets per game...An on-line "Zips Ticket Exchange" would be nice for season ticket holders to use when they know that they are not coming and they can sell their tickets which would put fans in those empty blue seats.
I heard that The U is giving Keith Dambrot a big raise and a two or three year extension on his contract. Just a rumor but from a good source. Should be annouced by Friday.
The USA TODAY/ESPN Board of Coaches is made up of 31 head coaches at Division I institutions. All are members of the National Association of Basketball Coaches. The board for the 2006-07 season includes: Charlie Coles, Miami (Ohio). Thanks for nothing Charlie. Go MAC!
The survey caller stated that the cost to renovate the Rubber Bowl was $60,000,000 to $80,000,000, the same cost to build a new stadium on campus; her question was "knowing this do you think it is a good idea to build a new stadium on campus?"
