  1. What happens with the five that lost their scholarships this year (six in two years) on the women's basketball team? If this does anything to the basketball team like what happened to the football team, with the number of scholarships available to BB, we won't be able to offer a scholarship until 2020. Or am I wrong? It depends:http://www2.ncaa.org/portal/academics_and_...reform/faq.html
  2. there is really not much point in entertaining the opinions of someone who doesn't even know who the opponent is scheduled to open the new stadium.
  3. somebody cattle prod racer up to speed.
  4. It is ungentlemanly and beneath you Capt. to gloat like this. I notice that you failed to mention that he also considered BOTH Indiana and California! Strangely, no mention of Duke.
  5. We got some more national pub out of the story this morning as Bob and Tom did about a two minute bit. They also commented on the fact that when Brooks shot he hit nothing. They said if he played for an SEC team at least he would have drawn a little net.
  6. Concrete footers being poured on the pressbox side right now.
  7. My two favorite passages from the Beacon blurb......1. Brooks is also charged with driving with a suspended license and excessively tinted windows.oh oh, excessively tinted windows.2. His grandmother...........said he has never been in trouble before.well he hit the jackpot his first time out.
  8. We heard you guys were so good that you were playing a split squad against both the Zips and the Gophers on the same day.
  9. Given no injuries, I thought the team speed comment was good.Check with your PR Profs RowdyZip to see what they think of your idea. Sometimes its better to let a fire burn out rather than add fuel.
  10. Why would he leave now? Wild guess.....Money?
  11. I think AU just won both the mens and womens MAC championships.
  12. I'm not sure if this arena is realistic at all. Akron-Nike-LeBron Arena???? I doubt it. I think the university is more focused on getting a med school more than anything else. It would be the best thing to happen if it happens.Given the agenda of the current state administration, you better wear bigger pants when UA gets a med school so the monkeys have plenty of room to come flying out of your rear end.
  13. Forget soccer and bball, lets get that rifle dynasty started. good luck with that. if i was a betting person i would put my money on soccer first.Well I have to admit the only reason I attend the rifle matches is to watch the cheerleaders and dance squad, but when an occasional stray shot catches a spectator that's entertaining as well.
  14. Forget soccer and bball, lets get that rifle dynasty started.
  15. this guys like a fish story. let me know when he hits 8'5I'm wondering if you had realized that the passage you partially quote listed the following TWO characteristics "Marshall's height" and "7'4" wingspan." I'm guessing not, otherwise you would have thought it was a bird story.
  16. Good point...I meant even up the football divisions. I think even divisions are more important in fball than than bball. Probably about the time the MAC adds another school Temple will be moving on anyway.
  17. Really Really slow here so.................Who would you like to see the MAC add to even up the Divisions?Western Kentucky is a viable candidate that has made the jump to D1 (reasonable fball, very good bball) . Either Northern Iowa or Southern Illinois might be an interesting addition if they made the jump to D1.
  18. 6-6 but "points for" gets outnumbered by "points against" by 54.
  19. They're no where near as bad as back in the 1970's and They claimed attendance was 45k to 49K for the old Acme Zip Games. I know bowl was full for those games and people were even sitting on the hill atop the Bowl. But, you can't get 45k to 49K into a stadium who's official capacity is 35,000.Stadium capacity was listed at 31,000 not 35,000. I do not recall anyone ever claiming that attendance for an Acme Zip game was 45 to 49K but I was there when they had over 40,000 and it was fun.
  20. BUT I believe they will be able to lower the inflation factor.
  21. I don't know if you monitored this recording carefully Captain. A close listen will reveal that a few of the words are a little salty.Regarding the Administration being behind the coach. Thats right where they want to be and I'm serious, the reason is cause its easier to kick your ass out the door from that position.
  22. Actually, I remember that day well. The Iraqi soccer team (you can see their limos parked outside the stadium) played the team from Iran. The results were much like the little border clash the two countries had in more recent years, zero-zero tie in 20 overtimes.
  23. I think the author of this fine piece of journalism missed one of the most important aspects of Dwight’s storied past. It is noted that, “Nobody will confuse Dwight Lowery with Carl Lewis on the track,” but that is only because Dwight gave up track because when he did participate in that sport (his specialty was the steeplechase) he was always confused with Carl. He also gave up bicycle racing because of a similar problem with Lance Armstrong.
  24. Simply put, Kofi Sarkodie is the top player in America in his age class. But -- when he pl;ayed in the U-17 World Cup last August, he was just 16 y.o. How can he play college soccer at 17? Anyhow, I'll take him!!!!!It is my understanding that there is no minimum age requirement to participate in varsity collegiate athletics.
  25. No tie to North east Ohio!!! Better check your Ohio History. When white settlers first came to the area they were surprised to discover no Indian tribes inhabited the area. Turns out several tribes had attempted to live here but left after they suffered numerous casualties to bands of free-ranging kangaroos which roamed the area. The first territorial governor of the Northwest territories gained his position based on his promise to rid the area of the killer marsupials. Initially shooting and poisoning were tried unsuccessfully. Then a trapping program was successful in completely capturing all the pests. Some of the trapped roos were killed but representatives from PETA complained. So the last 100 animals were shipped to Australia where they multiplied like kangaroos, and the rest is history.
