Yes there is a reason we can't do this now.....because SOME of the students holding each letter would argue that the message should read UofA, not AU, and so they would move to the other side of the card section (or refuse to hold up their card and spend their time telling the others that "AU" is some kind of insult). Either way, it would goof up the message.

I concur. But unless the offensive strategy changes AU can continue its tradition of unusual position names (e.g., Mike) and call its tight ends "decoys."

The one nice thing about the good old days when streets ran through campus was the possibility of close-in-parking if you had a single horse buggy. I remember John Heisman always used to get ticketed for parking his two horse rig in the one horse lot.

I still have my tickets for the Vulcans game on October 28, 1967. Unfortunately the team didn't last that long into their first season in the CFL, and left town owing advertisers, newspapers, equipment suppliers, hotels, and others thousands of dollars. But I'm hanging on to the tickets just in case they reschedule.

Eminent domain calls for the property owner to get fair market value. That's it. Don't have to find a replacement property, don't have to hold their hand during the move, don't have to pay for sentimental value or sweat equity. Can you imagine trying to put values on that stuff. Look at what the assessor has the property appraised at and make the offer. The owners didn't complain when their property taxes were based on the assessors estimate of value. Let's start building.

There are still many questions that need to be answered. For example, Why do you think they show 6 trees growing outside stadium in front of the North end of the press box tower but only 5 growing in front of the south side of the tower? I'm thinking they would have the trees planted in a symetrical pattern. Are they thinking Manny will come and steal a tree to get even for being forced to move? Why are they so reluctant to include lighting in their plans? Or are the lights there and just retracted like the headlights on a sporty car?

I'll guess #85 with attendance playing no small part in the ranking.

Skip-zip, your post made me lol. On another topic.....The lack of light standards is a pretty glaring rendering omission. I have to believe that the stadium will include lights mounted behind the stands as opposed to in front of them as the new stadium will not be in the flight path of the Akron Muni Airport.

Well I'm not knuckling under! I'm still disappointed that its not a bowl or horseshoe design. To penalize the U, I vow not to attend a single game in the new stadium this coming season or the next.

Back around 1970 I remember the mens swim team had to let a couple of females join the team because there was no womens swim team at UA. As it turned out neither lasted until the first meet, so they never participated in an official event. Just wondering...Does the U now allow male tennis players or swimmers to participate with the womens teams?
