Regarding reinstituting mens tennis (or wrestling, or swimming) or starting any new mens varsity sport, don't hold your breath. As long as UA has a football team and Title 9 is in force, the two most likely changes to occur will be the addition of additional womens sports or the elimination of mens teams. The NCAA sanctioned sport most likely to have a chance to break even financially is mens hockey, but that ain't gonna happen. My vote would be to add either womens mud wrestling or a NASCAR racing team (could cover both genders with this one).

If UA agrees to go to Dayton, they may play but they will not be returning the visit. They prefer to fill their OOC schedule with home games against weak teams.

Actually the best D1 coach in Ohio was Brownell at Wright State. He had a short (one guy taller than 6'6"), not extremely talented team and took them to the Big Dance. Look out for them in coming years. Next years team will have 5 guys at 6'8" or taller.

Wipe the rust off Blue&Gold. You are thinking one or two conference affiliations in the past. Dayton plays in the A10, and consistently play in front of 12K+ at home. And that includes years in the 90's when they had losing records.

Don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen. Title IX considerations will preclude adding a varsity men's hockey team. There is a better chance of adding a varsity women's hockey team.
