  1. I noticed on his video that he has gained an inch and lost 10 pounds. I hope he is not bulimic. Watching the video, I was unsure if I was watching football or a farming special because he planted so many guys. Shows promise as a pulling guard/pulling tackle. Might consider playing this guy as a blocking fullback. That would be scarey.
  2. The contest should be held at halftime to keep the students present for at least half the game. Although I have never witnessed this type of contest I like this idea because it will involve twice as many students as similar events. If the receiver/catcher fails to catch the ball, or catches it off the field, does this eliminate the team from the contest or just count as zero yards towards the total score?
  3. Back in the good old days, late 60s -70s, most home games were Saturday evening games. My fading memory recalls most home games were Saturday evening games, winning percentage was good, band was great, and attendance was much better than it is now (even without doors on the restroom johns).
  4. I'm hoping his weight is closer to the 290 listed on his high school roster.
  5. Finding a Zip on any first, second, third or fourth string preseason All MAC football team was harder than finding a Marshall coed with a full set of teeth. I'm looking forward to seeing how many Zips show up on the postseason teams.
  6. Typos fit into the "other" category. 26K makes a lot more sense.
  7. It may be obvious from where you are, but not from here.
  8. TB said after the game that he didn't call for the fake punt. It was called by Austin. Really good thing then that he pulled it off.
  9. Teams Reported attendance WMU @ NIU 17,679 UMASS @ OU 13,162 TOL @ AKRON 12,506 MU @ TT 6,784 EMU @ CMU 5,214 BUGS @ CANADA 2,622 None of these numbers are good and three of them are downright pathetic. Two questions..... How many butts in seats were there for the Akron game? What do you think accounts for the low attendance figures around the conference; bad weather, Black Friday shopping opportunities (WNU@NIU exempt), or something else? The University of Canada must be so proud. Chance to get into the MACC and 2,600 people show up to watch.
  10. Talk about following the Meister's advice!!
  11. There are enough errors in his article that I now suspect he is posting on Zips Nation.org under another name. Fantastic win for the Zips.
  12. Given the number of players who have launched big time professional basketball careers from the SBL Zeke's time spent there was no doubt a smart move.
  13. I'm pretty sure "a much better chance of securing a bowl game" is not exactly the same as "will secure" a bowl game, which is what you claimed earlier. Zips are currently 7.5 point dogs, but these dogs are ready to take a bite out of the Rockets.
  14. to achieve national prominence. Let's be the first to form both a men's team and women's team (no Title 9 issues) in this.
  15. It's true. A newly instituted NCAA rule requires teams with bad coaching staffs to have 8 wins to be bowl eligible.
  16. It may not have worked against a D2 team, but it should be effective against half the teams in the MAC west. HAPPY TURKEY DAY.
  17. No, I do not. I think you were referring to another old investment adage that says, "100% of all puts with a strike price less than the price of the underlying asset at the time the option expires are worthless." I would agree with the golfing adage that asserts, "100% of all putts that come up short of the cup don't go in."
  18. I agree, but note that the probability of going to a bowl increases dramatically if the team is bowl eligible. This year, for example, no team that is not bowl eligible will be competing in a bowl game.
  19. aren't allowed?
  20. I'm hoping we can be very mediocre next season. The very mediocre Central Michigan team will be bowl eligible after Friday.
  21. I'm with you @DIG, @@UA1987's observation is right on the money. It would be great to go over the old ratings in a group session with you and @@MAXZip@.
  22. You are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. You would think the offensive players would have been taught to look back for the ball. But NO, they spend all their time looking at the opposing goalie, or into the stands, or just about anywhere other than where the ball is coming from. This has GOT TO STOP.
  23. I should of known you would wonder about this.
  24. We tried that a couple of years ago and they moved the game. Let's just win the game here.
  25. I would heft the ball down field and get an interference call first down. I would do this several times.
