  1. We scored and it should have been 38 to 34 with 4:00 to go and your 99 yard TD after the bullshit call would never have happened. Be an adult and own up to it. Your Big Ten officials won that game that day not Wisconsin. Your probably weren't even born then so what am I talking to you for ya sausage stuffer.
  2. This one will be closer that a lot of people think. Bowden would be well advised to be amiable with the officials from pregame on and plant the seed to 'keep it fair' 'watch their holding' etc...every time he gets near one of them (channel Hank Stram). Too much of a conflict having Big Ten officials handling the calls for a MAC team at these big money Big Ten venues. Wisconsin 2003 and Michigan 2013 were ours, but were stolen away with bad calls.
  3. Good team bulletin board material for those with access
  4. Didn't their coach used to work at Wally's garage?
  5. Give them NOTHING, but take from them EVERYTHING!
  6. I do not like these money games. I'd rather have better contracts with surmountable obstacles and play the Wisconsin's at the end of the year in a good paying bowl on a neutral site. That saying, my hope is that we play to win.
  7. After the VMI coach rampage at postgame, I don't think Bowden would appreciate seeing the Institute on the forward schedule as long as Wachenheim is around. VMI played a good game as I thought they would. The Zips have a lot of work to do. My concern (besides extra point and field goal kicking) is the interior of the defensive line. I was hoping Hamilton might be a Moses McCray type player for Akron, but I did not see him in the lineup. We need him to play.
  8. If this happens, I will pull all support for Zips football with communication to the HC, AD, and University President till the player(s) are disciplined, apologize. or are removed from the team. I don't care who they are (or who they think they are).
  9. 2015 depth chart http://www.vmikeydets.com/pdf9/3402710.pdf?ATCLID=210006379&SPSID=43765&SPID=3895&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=9800 Don't have time to keep searching for 2016.
  10. I am impressed by the history of VMI. It's interesting that the campus life is considered more austere than the 3 Federal Military Academies.Their graduates can go into the military or civilian life. During the Civil War (War Between The States for Southerners) Stonewall Jackson looked out to his commanders before the battle of Chancellorsville and noticed many VMI graduates. Jackson (who died later that night) was quoted as saying 'the Institute will be heard from today' (this battle was a Confederate victory in which Lee did the unimaginable and divided his army in the presence of a much superior force). I look for a very disciplined football team that will not let down even though the score might not be in their favor. I have not seen their 2 deep, but I would guess they will be out matched in size and speed. Despite my respect for VMI, I'm hoping the Institute is not heard from much in our 1st game, but reaches their potential down the road.
  11. Looking for the next clip on the interior DL. The two deep here is extremely important. I'm interested if Hamilton is making an impact and at which position.
  12. Darius Copeland (NT) will get tested early and often in this game. ISO right ISO left... boom, kabang! Then over the top once the Zips move up to support the run. We are the American Revolutionary Army in this contest and the Badgers are the British. Somehow we need to guess right on a lot of alignments and create doubt by keeping it close. Then we might be able to see a path for some late game heroics.
  13. Looks like our starting 5 on the OL are as follows based on the clip (I may have Ritz and Erickson on the wrong side?): LT - LTT 6'7" 315 LG - Ritz 6'5" 300 C - Gauthney 6'1" 290 RG - Erickson 6'3" 300 RT - Letulli 6'5" 345
  14. What happened to your great HC Jerry Moore?
  15. I don't think there is any disrespect for App State in Akron. Your team will most probably come in favored. We have heard of your highly rated offensive line and your history of winning. I like that your coach was brought up through the ranks and that you have the majority of your players on your roster from the Carolina's, which says you have great fan backing. Akron, on the other hand has had a long tough road in DIV IA or FBS. We have just now turned the corner, but we rank #2 in the nation as the team with the LEAST returning starters in 2016. We do, however, have a lot of talent on this team and we also have good coaching. I point to this game as the most interesting non-conference game on our schedule and it could go a long way in defining our season. BIG GAME!
  16. I'd like to see the Mich transfer (still not on roster) at LT even though Brown is supposed to be very good. Noticed that Hamilton did not make the two deep (for now). Ritz is showing his versatility as he now is at RG. Coaches may want the two experienced lineman (Ritz and Erickson) on opposite sides of the center.
  17. No sign of the ex-Michigan lineman on GoZips.com as of today. Rich Kallay, however, has put on 40lbs and is now 6'5" 322. Nice job in the weight room! Bowden wants big lineman and RF Kallay might get some playing time this year.
  18. Stroud must think Hamilton can help on the DL line rotation. Lets hope so as we need to rotate 1's and 2's in and out during each game or in the 4th quarter we will be at a disadvantage. Coe made it to the next level. Maybe this guy thinks he has a shot too.
  19. 2016 will include many close tough games. The Zips coaching staff may have to roll the dice at the end of some games to win. Akron truly will have to develop into a 4th quarter team. As it stands now, I think we will be favored to win in 5, but this could change with the development of our running game, special teams, and linebackers.
  20. Rachal has earned his chance to start at the MIKE position. Besides he's one of Dr. Z's favs. I am a little worried if we suffer any injuries at a LB positions though.
  21. Most of these posts are from young students. Give em a break as they are probably dealing with horrendous acne or other insecurities.
  22. I think I could live with this lineup based on size, ability, and experience: Ritz - LT, 6'5" 295, SO Casimos (if healthy) - LG, 6'2" 320, JR Erickson - C, 6'3" 300, JR Kortokrax - RG, 6'3" 300, JR Tuley-Tillman - RT. 6"7" 309, JR With a decent second unit of young developing big talent on the two deep that might see some action or better yet - redshirt
  23. Rutgers, Washington St, Louisville, Illinois all were interested. Maybe he chose Akron because he has a very good shot at starting. I flinch at a kid with this kind of baggage, but he is on a short leash with his probation and maybe he will realize that if he makes one step in the wrong direction he may go to prison. I hope he is a decent kid that made a stupid mistake and the Zips can turn him around. We sure can use a big tackle. I wonder if Funk helped him decide on the Zips.
  24. BG loaded on the OL again. Hmm... seems like they have it figured out. I sure hope our new OL coach is the second coming of Tank (or half as good) and that Brown can play as a true freshman, and that the apparent loss of the Kentucky transfer doesn't put a hole in the line, and that Gauthney pans out, despite never snapping the ball and making lines calls in a game. That's a lot of 'ands' and a lot hoping. The OL may be our Achilles heel for 2016. A split second more time to throw or a little larger crease to run through can make all the difference. Help! - we need a blue shirt or two.
  25. I don't know how Fleck is getting such top recruiting classes at Western. Hard work probably and he has a great Bio, but man his classes are too much. If the NCAA cares about non P5 schools, I would think someone may be interviewing Coach Fleck and some of his players to make sure this program is clean.
