  1. Conference USA travel would be tough, especially for cash-strapped UA...Charlotte, FIU, South Carolina, Kentucky, New Mexico, UAB, Old Dominion, Florida Atlantic, Marshall The 4 in bold would definitely require air travel and the others are significant bus rides.
  2. Well, we're screwed with no automatic berth for the MAC in the NCAA Tourney. I knew that the MAC should have never kicked Hartwick out.
  3. I wish they would schedule west coast matches at a decent hour for people in the east who work. It's a Sunday for cryin' out loud. Play the freakin game at 1 or 2 pm PDT (4 or 5 pm EDT).
  4. Because Football is the big sinkhole that continues to damage the University of Akron.
  5. Is women's soccer playing a Spring Schedule this year? They did not last year. Not having that extra development time is huge.
  6. So, where are your numbers on the percentage of those seats that have been filled in the last 1, 5, 10 years (average attendance)?
  7. For those who are complaining about KD being disloyal and decimating our program, look at what UA did for Football and has not done for Men's Basketball. Who's disloyal to whom? I smell the stench coming from Buchtel Hall in this situation.
  8. Yes, UA screwed over the then Bob Huggins - led Zips Mens Basketball Program in favor of football. They've done so again to Keith Dambrot.
  9. It appears you may be right. However, does that mean he has changed his mind or just that he had 2nd thoughts about tweeting that?
  10. O jogo bonito [The Beautiful Game]: Brazilian-born Victor Souto’s story of futebol — and soccer ...Souto decided to attend Akron because he wanted to go to a good school in the U.S. with strong academics and an excellent football program, both of which the University of Akron has. Souto met Jared Embick, the head coach of the Akron Zips men’s soccer program, when Souto attended a showcase in Florida in 2012. Embick offered Souto a full scholarship to Akron, a day Souto considers to be one of the “best days of my life". However, moving from south of the equator wasn’t easy. There were times when he struggled. He didn’t know any English when he went to school, but he “liked the way the language sounded.”... ...Souto only looks at his time at Akron with positivity and gratefulness. ... Whatever happened, I hope our coaching staff realizes how proud they should be of the difference they made in Victor's life and the path that they helped to set him on. Whatever the issue, he graduated Summa Cum Laude and has been working to do things right. Best wishes to him.
  11. It doesn't scare me as long as we have a competent Athletic Director at the time. If we had to rely on the previous AD (or equivalent), Dan Hipsher and Coleman Crawford would look like excellent choices far and above the one he would make.
  12. DeAndre Yedlin is the summer sale Tottenham should look back on with regret

  14. When I clicked on my username and "My Attachments", it says that I'm allowed 1.95 MB, not 19.5 MB...huge difference.
  15. Thanks, and I forgot the Joe Korb sub...no slight to Joe intended.
  16. Pau and Ezana scored. 2-1 Zips over ND final. As I recall (correct me if necessary): Starters (4-4-2 or 4-3-3; Skye may have been up front) Nick Costa Nate Shultz, Shane Wiedt, Reggie Laryea, Nico DeVera, Jackson Crawford, Marcel Zajac, Pau Belana, Skye Harter, Sam Gainford, Stuart Holthusen Reggie went down and Morgan Hackworth replaced him during 1st half 0-0 at half Pau scored shortly into the 2nd half Ezana Kahsay came in for Jackson Crawford several minutes into the 2nd half ND tied it EZ scored 2-1 Zips final There was no clock since we were on the practice field and I didn't look at my watch to estimate when the scores occurred.
  17. Apparently Jonathan Lewis made his MLS debut today in an 11 minute sub for NYCFC. http://matchcenter.mlssoccer.com/matchcenter/2017-03-18-new-york-city-fc-vs-montreal-impact/boxscore
  18. I think it's roughly a 4-hour drive, but I'm hoping some of the Houston players' families can make the trip to Arlington. If work wasn't so crazy for me right now, I might have looked into going. CLE-DFW on American is a relatively easy trip. Probably expensive at last minute, though.

  20. Bad news for Team USA and Newcastle United FC... http://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/newcastle-lose-defender-for-five-weeks-1-8441100 ...USA head coach Bruce Arena said: “DeAndre has been in LA this past week and examined by our team doctors. “We realise he is not going to be able to go to these next two matches against Honduras and Panama. “It is likely he will be out for about five weeks. I would expect he will be back on the field for Newcastle right at the end of this season in April.” ...
