We were surprised as well that they allowed this. For anyone that will try it, I'd suggest confirming with the attendant beforehand.

A friend and I asked that very question last year. We were told yes. I believe they rescanned the tickets somehow that it would let us back in. We left, ate dinner and came back and got in without an issue.

If you're into bourbon, the answer is definitely Kentucky. Buffalo Trace and Four Roses distilleries are nearby and worth a visit.
