Recruiting season is only fun in the NCAA video game. We will have no idea on some of these guys until the spring game, and the fall for the rest. iCoach gets until the end of this season before I start calling shenanigans.

iCoach is a loser. Should never ahve wasted that last time out. What an idiotic decision. I agree. If we had that one timeout, Miami would have had to punt again. Which was a lot better option than trying to overturn a fumble call that happened while a receiver was clearly upright on both feet running with the football. Not only would we have had time but Miami was punting from deep in their territory and into the wind. We could have had 30 seconds and a few shots at the endzone after just one first down. Probably unlikely with how bad our passing game is but you never know. Stupid moves on little things like that are not supposed to be made by Division 1 college coaches. We've seen these kind of things more than once this year as well. Totally disagree with you. Taking the timeout there with a slight hope to have the call reversed was the best chance at victory. College football has a 40 sec play clock. Play was stopped after the fumble with 1:46 and the Zips had their 1 timeout. Here is your best case scenario: 1st down. Miami runs the ball 5 secs of play. We call a time out. Clock @ 1:41 2nd down. Miami runs the ball. 5 secs of play. 38 secs of play clock. Clock @ 0:57 3rd down. Miami takes a knee. 38 secs of play clock.... And now we are at the point of them punting the ball. Clock is @ 19 seconds. 3-4 secs of hang time... Burney catches it with around 15 secs on the clock around their 45 yard line. Now, compare that with the best case scenario. The zebras got the call wrong and LaFrance didn't actually catch the ball and its 4th and 9 @ Miami's 13. What is your best chance at winning the game? I give iCoach credit for making what I think is the right call. I think we can all agree that none of these are good options, but they were the options in front of him at the time when he called the timeout. Nicely leading the team on a 45 yard march in 15 secs? Burney taking it to the house? Passing for a TD from the 13?

i liked the play calls tonight. That screen that fumbled away our chances was a good call. Too bad the goof that caused the fumble fell on his face at the snap and stayed upfield in the perfect position when he got up instead of rushing the QB. LaFrance had room to work if not for him... Allen to Nicely on 4th No huddle to force some offense when nothing else was working Even the last timeout was a calculated attempt to win the game. We weren't going to win it from around Miami's 45 with 15-20 secs left and Nicely's aim. iCoach isn't a good coach yet. But he had us in a position to win. And it seems like the players aren't giving up. Nice to see players competing given the circumstances. That counts for something.

iCoach hasn't gotten a full chance. They didn't hire him for one year. Give him 3-5yrs and make a judgement then. We can all see we suck now. I agree with AkronAD. I hope none of you invest in stocks. This guy was fired in his first season at a new job as well. It is soccer related but everyone seems to love that silly game here.

Defense played great and the coaches seem to at least have our troubles down to moving targets. I look forward to QB play not being an issue next week and I hope the defense stays where it is at. Just think about it. When the game was close in the 3rd, our defense held Can't State to 67 yards. And when we needed them, stopped them on 4th down and kept them to only 39 yards in the 4th quarter. Coaching has something to do with that. Now, as long as Nicely isn't texting Rasor and sending him pictures of his junk, I think we need to realize that games this bad, well they happen to QBs. You can't teach tall and rocket arm. He still has those. He needs to get back on track and play more like the QB who was getting rid of the ball too quickly in the Syracuse game. He can be taught to throw to other receivers and the hit the TE once in a while up the seam. Nicely has got to get better. It is hard to not lay this one at his feet.
