I need to vent a little bit.... This whole QB situation has just been upsetting to me. After seeing what we've seen from these two QBs, I can't see anything about this decision to get excited about. And the designated starter is now facing the disadvantage of having received diminished reps with the first teamers with only 10 days left til opening day. I'm not sure that's the way they wanted it to be. But, from what we saw in 2009, I think it's understandable if they wanted to do plenty of evaluation before making a decision. I unfortunately see the Quinn vs. Anderson comparisons that many of you are seeing. Meanwhile, lowly Ken+ State has a freshman QB step in last year and play only 2/3 of the season, throw for well over 2,000 yards, including two late-season starts in which he threw for nearly 400 yards, and looks to have the potential for an amazing future. Barring any unforseen events, they probably have a solid starter for the next 3 seasons, with several good performances already under his belt. I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir with many of you who are done with the "they just need more experience" talk. I had hoped that Akron was at the point where we could nab a Charlie Frye-caliber QB once every 5 years or so. I guess I'll have to hope a little longer, unless our selected 2010 starter makes a dramatic improvement from what we've seen thus far from these two individuals. It will be ok. Football season is days away. Very hard to be feeling negative about the zips today.

Your question needs a response... hot girls breaking down line-backing schemes. -
Does anyone else besides me think this is totally pathetic?

all coaches are kinda weird like that. Bringing the stage to the gridiron is a little too fruity for my tastes. -
Ohio State Football, Trying Something New

If OSU runs the table and lucks out in a National Championship game ala 2002... we play them next. National TV, all the hype, etc. Nicely's JR year and he is experienced with most of the WRs. Defense will be in it's 2nd yr of the 4-3. That will be very cool. I would think all of you OSU haters would appreciate that. -
Im allergic to country music. Thanks though

How will Ianello approch the BCS OOC games?
cornbread replied to Captain Kangaroo's topic in Akron Zips Football
Good-effing-bye stack defense. BCS teams would just pound the crud out of that little lineup. I think one of the reasons we can go out and try to beat BCS team is our bigger defensive lineup. Hopefully we can execute. Offensively we need to stretch the field with some PN7 play action passing. I can't wait to see that! Dude... I know I am establishing myself as the video game nerd in these forums... but PNice has got a wonderful arm in the NCAA11 game this year. Once I get into the MAC schedule with the zips, he starts torching secondaries who are a step slower. Play action on 2nd and short is killer. Definitely looking forward to seeing the pro-style offense in action. I bet we rack up some heavy rush numbers in the MAC when the safeties have to hang back out of the box to respect #7's arm. -
Clay Cameron (2010 Preferred Walkon)

As per your instructions, I have reread the posts and am now getting back to you. So what you are saying, if I understand correctly, is that when you get caught changing your explanation over and over and can't seem to get your story straight no matter how hard you try and some one points out to you that you can't offer the same explanation twice in a row, you resort to calling people names. It would have been more polite to just make up another explanation. And what if poor Clay is reading this thread? By this time, he may be terribly confused about when he should report to practice. Ill take it from here... thanks No one wins when you argue on the internet *Read text does not have the benefit of delivery mechanisms like hand motions, facial expressions, etc *You are experiencing a large amount of cognitive dissonance that is not allowing you to read his comments and take them at their face value. Your anger and what every other emotions that are driving you to follow this thread are masking your brain's ability to understand. -

Damn... yes, I do mean 2011.

I noted your response in triplicate in my ledger. It has been forwarded on to the proper departments. Keep the pink copy for yourself.

Yeah, because none of us ever drank at a college party when we weren't 21. whatever. We were all smart enough not to get caught. I think they were more unlucky than stupid.

Oh really? What NCAA football do you recommend? Oh wait. This is the only one. Yay property rights licensing and capitalism...

Two flaws to your logic, smaller schools than us have jerseys available for sale. Even the University doesn't have to order 200 jerseys to get them produced. You're talking 200 total jerseys from small to double X. You go with numbers that common (7, 34, 45, 56), you wind up with 800 jerseys, that you inventory and sell over a 4 year period, replenishing on the third year. It's not rocket science. And you are comparing an NFL jersey price (NFL licensing fee, Team licensing fee, player licensing fee, plus mark up from the manufacture and retailer) to a college jersey (University licensing fee, and then mark up) They range about $75 and cost the store about $40 a pop. Now the Athletic Department screwed up by not including retail jerseys in the original agreements. (which most schools do) I like it when someone knows what they are talking about.

If you want to join an online dynasty, leave your xbox live gamer tag here and I will invite you. It is MAC Teams only. I will start it once the rosters get named. Online dynastys are nice this year as you can do most of the "upkeep" (recruiting, etc) online at a PC instead of at the console. I call Akron. If you miss out on the start of the season dont worry. You can jump in at anytime.

Not so dumb. Our society has become so stupid that really, really, really stupid courtroom programs, Springer and Maurey in the afternoon are displacing really, really stupid programs such as soap operas. If we aren't getting more stupid, how do you explain George W Bush, Nancy Pelosi, Obama, etc? Every generation has ill-informed notions about following generations. This one coming up now is very competent. I think the poor programming is more a result of the fragmentation of media than actual view decisions. This generation teethed on video game controllers and can multitask 3 times better when compared outside their group. They think video games can be an artform and create more (im, email, blogs, etc) in a year than previous generations did in a life time. Good and bad will come of it. Everything Zen. Liberals will rule the Earth (made that last one up for GP1 and GoZips)

@GoZips Why dont you tell us how you really feel?

Not so dumb.

@ the YMCA, I was doing some cardio, and my ankle felt like it was grinding. I thought it was the weirdest thing ever until I talked to my parents about it and they laughed. Turning 30 in September. Welcome to joint pain they said.
