So apparently my video is continuing to gain popularity. I checked my personal message inbox on my YouTube account today and I received the following two PMs: "My name is Rich Goldberg and I am a Producer at Sports Newsatellite, we supply NBC Newschannel with all their sports material for all of the NBC TV affillates throughout the country. I would like to use your video of the red card during the Akron/OSU soccer game on the NBC Newschannel feed. Please tell me what courtesy I should use and any other game info that might be useful, who when where etc" and "Hello, ESPN was wondering if we can use the below video today? Does the video belong to you? What would you like for an on air credit? Thanks, Carrie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aDe05v2sOg...player_embedded Carrie Henderson ESPN Assignment Editor" I messaged them both back and explained that the footage itself was not my personal footage and that I had just done the editing for YouTube, but I mentioned in both messages my name and the site which I represent, which is of course ZNO, the unofficial home for Akron Zips sports discussion. So keep your eyes peeled and post up anywhere else you might see the vid. I had no idea I'd be getting so much love for just doing ZNO a favor! =]

thank you for that. I wasn't at the game, but judging from the OSU coach's reaction to the game, I can see where the lack of class comes from. His reaction to the red card was unreal. That was in no way a yellow-able offense. The ref made the right call. Also, his reaction to breaking our scoreless streak was cocky and arrogant. Please tell me we play them again at our place later in the year. If so the Rowdies had better show up in full force to heckle their team.

Get out of your hotel and head down to Penn Ave, go to Rolands, great beer selection. When your done there continue down the strip, you can't go wrong with bars down there. If your hungry, go to Primanti Brothers, if you like sushi, to to the sushi bar at the Westin. If you need to do something spiritual, go to The Church, also close by. While we aren't quite that close to downtown(we are in Harmarville, working at the New Kensington Alcoa plant), I might throw those ideas to the guys for tomorrow. We ate at The Church Brew Co. our first trip down here and I was quite pleased with the sampler! Also, we ate at the Primanti Brothers for dinner tonight right around the corner from our hotel yeah I looked for it online as well but hoped that others had seen it. Hopefully someone can DVR it and capture it!

Sitting in my hotel room outside of poopsburgh and I've got ESPN on to pass the time before dinner and I saw a commercial for the Fall Championship Series on ESPN. Your Zips soccer team makes three cameos: Beginning with Teal Bunbury, then Ampai with his hands on his head, and finally Zarek Valentin running with his hand in the air. If I saw correctly, we were the only representatives from Men's soccer, which is interesting considering we were the runners up last year. Anyone else seen this?

Just got cowbell for our boys! Sent an e-mail to The Really Big Show on 850WKNR and Rizzo read it on the air and gave our boys some props for being the #1 team in the nation. For those that missed it here was my e-mail: "Rizz, Can we get a mention for the University of Akron soccer game tonight on Fox Soccer Channel? The game is at 8PM tonight and is a rematch of last year’s NCAA Tournament Semi-final match where Akron won 1-0. Akron is #1 in the country and their opponent Tulsa is #3. Good to be alive! Brian in Lorain" Didn't realize Tulsa was #2, Oh well, they won't be there next week after tonight And I also didn't realize the game last year was the quarterfinal. Oh well, the point was to get UA out there and I think I did just that! GO ZIPS!

I see it as an opportunity to play 4 other teams this year that we actually have a chance to beat hah. What are the chances of us playing in the Pillow Fight of the Week this year? I'd say pretty good.

did you include last week as us not covering the spread? It was 27.5 and we obviously lost by 37.

It's getting hard to support our conference when two teams are in the bottom ten with three more on the cusp of being in.

agreed. It was a huge success. I think the idea was to deter kids from partying for mayday, which will never happen but it was a great time nonetheless and should be even better next year.
