this wasn't supposed to even be a topic on Akron U vs. U of A. I posted a tweet where Lebron mentioned our University to over 1.5 million people, however he wasnts to call it is fine with me as long as it has U/University and "Akron" in it.

I agree with this sentiment 100%. Also, it's not like there is another University in Akron that is called "Akron University" and is a craphole that we don't want to be associated with. Thus, the OSU/OU correlation does not apply to the UA/AU conversation.

Fine then, let's have the discussion. What if between now and the fall, that lying sack of crap Tressel resigns and the NCAA probes their asses to the point that half their cheating team is suspended for five games? What if they are so deflated from the off season of lies, cheating and NCAA probes that they are an emotionless wreck this fall? I would think these things help the chances for a Zips victory. What the Athletic Department really needs to do, and they won't do it because they all want a job some day at tOSU, is to print t-shirts for the fall. The shirts would have Head Liar Tressel's photo on it with the words, "Liar, liar pants on fire" below his picture. Why would anyone defend Tressel at this point? Because he is one of them? He is actually one of us because he has a degree from UofA, but we all know a liar when we see one and should call him out for being a liar BECAUSE he is one of us. Why would anyone be sick of hearing about it? I love hearing about it. There is nothing better in life than watching a phony being exposed for being a phony. Jim Tressel is the Milli Vanilli of reported high moral character coaches. How many tOSU fans are now singing the song, "I'm Gonna Miss You" while wearing their favorite sweater vest? I guess since he doesn't coach my team I could give two shits. And I think what actually bugs me about this is that even if the Zips weren't playing the Buckeyes this fall, these threads would still be posted. Some of the posters here love to bash the Buckeyes any chance they get. Luckily for them they've got a legitimate reason now.

Tressel's rotting corpse, dangling in the wind, will never get old. if it will for me, does that make me not a true Zips fan? He's not coaching against us in September. That should be the only ties we have to the story. I would think discussions could be held on how much that helps our chances of winning rather than petty little threads like this.

right, that's why I was wondering between the NCAA & NIT. My apologies, I didn't realize this was a common yearly topic. Mods can close/delete/whatever needs to happen.

With Can't's success in the NIT making it to the quarterfinals, I figured I'd throw the question out there. Would you rather make it to the NCAA Tournament and lose in the first round or win multiple games in the NIT? For me, I'd rather make it to the Big Dance. But I could easily see the other side of the argument. The NIT still gets play on ESPN(Saturday's #1 play was from the NIT) and you might get to watch your team on their home court(depending on seeding). But when it comes down to it, Can't is still playing basketball right now while our team is done. This discussion is strictly about NCAA losses vs. NIT wins, not the CBI or CIT. Thoughts?

actually, you guys having success in the post season has no negative bearing on the Zips so I do wish you well. Now during the regular season where it means something, I hope you guys lose by 50 every game =P Seriously though, nice win for the Flushes tonight. Best of luck against Fairfield.

Okay, now that the fixture is set. Those of you with experience in NCAA Tournament games, where do you go about getting tickets? Does UofA usually get tickets? Being on spring break and only 6 hours from bean town really makes me want to go. Stubhub has tickets for either of the three sessions from $80 and up.
