If the BE would never take Temple back (never say never), wouldn't it make sense for the ACC to go after Temple? They already stretch as far as Boston and Maryland is not far away. Temple is a basketball school first, but it also plays in an NFL stadium. In addition, Temple is in an extremely large media market stretching from C. PA through NJ.Temple didn't leave the Big East. They got kicked out. Temple will not be back in the Big East, in the next 15 years.Never say never. If they were desperate enough they would. Self preservation makes people do things they might not normally do.true. Say you're the Big East, do you take Temple, or Akron? I would say Temple under normal circumstances, but there could be pressure to stand by their initial decision of kicking them out and look elsewhere for expansion...The Big East removed Temple because it didn't really fit the conference's Profile, not because of poor performance (Temple was a part-time member anyway).I think Temple's abysmal football team had something to do with it.

Pass on PSU and Wisky in the same year.Give me Western Kentucky in our brand new stadium instead of an ass whooping in front of 70k.

That's regular season. Wanna know how the NHL decides a playoff game? 5 on 5 overtime, 20 minutes. repeat if necessary. shootouts are a gimmick to give the fans the satisfaction of not seeing a tie in the regular season. The NCAA should take note...don't decide the nat'l championship on a gimmick.

Lets become Big 10, AND...ACC champs this weekend. oh, and national champs.

We all know he is the frontrunner for YSU. The question is; is YSU his frontrunner?

Great post. There's probably an O Lineman or two there .. but it's pretty middle / lower Big Ten at this point.I beg to differ. ND has had recruiting classes ranked 18th, 21st, 2nd, and 8th in the nation in the past 4 years. Kids want to play there. The reason the players aren't NFL caliber is the coaching while they are at ND.Other than Tate, name them.Name what? I'll post the links if you want. The recruiting classes were all top 20~ ...just because the players stink now doesn't mean talent isn't coming to ND. It means the talent isn't getting developed.

Lions' Early-season Strength of Schedule
zippy5 replied to Captain Kangaroo's topic in Akron Zips Basketball
huh? they play them on the road. in fact, their first home game is 1/16. I'd rather see Akron play Austin Peay at home than nobody. Do you really thing GT would come to Akron? There is no upside to playing us at home, for any big team like that. Just nothing to gain..I was simply saying this is necessary to build a program and a fan base. Losing to Austin Peay at home early in the season is counterproductive in this sense.Well I'm simply saying you're delusional if you think Georgia Tech is going to come here -

he did a great job of turning pitt back into a respectable program...stunk once they were good again, but he got them back onto the national scene. would be a GREAT hire, imo.

I like it! He turned 80 this summer. And would it have been more appropriate for Arnold to ride a motorcycle than a golf cart?? Thanks for your adult response Z.I.P. He actually looks great. I have a friend who is a member of Latrobe CC in Pennsylvania where Palmer is a member. He said AP is one of the nicest people at the club. Nobody dares to call him anything other than Mr. Palmer. The golf cart was donated to the school and he autographed it. It will be auctioned off over the next couple weeks on their web page. All money will go to their scholarship fund. Good luck with your bidding. My family grew up there. I golfed there a few years ago. It's now his CC, Arnold Palmer Latrobe CC. He lives across the street, in a little ranch home where he has lived for a loong time now. My dad used to tell me stories, like fundraisers where the kid who raised the money won a prize. That kid was always the first one to Arnie's house, he always donated big money for whatever reason. Great guy, and he has a great drink (Half & Half iced tea and lemonade)

Pitt built the Pete a few years ago, seating 12k. They're usually a top 10 team. Even with the JAR hindering attendance figures somewhat, I don't see us filling up 12, or even 10k very often. Build it at 8k, with the ability to open up more seating for concerts.

Baller4Life, you may be one of the only people on here that know what they are talking about.the only problem with this thought is that these coaches recruited all of these "knucklehead" players and D-III QB's.

because the NFL and college games are completely similar too

It should be even better in our 25,000 seat stadium.there will be 30,000 fans there no? do i have to state the exact number in seats? i hear 14 big shots might actually be laying on the couch in their suites too.

Rumor has it you may get your wish.lol i set myself up for that one.

Friday night on ESPN2. any chance of Dickie V being in the house? what a showcase for UA, and the MAC. a packed house in front of probably the biggest game of the year for UA, Can't, and the conference. So many good things are happening here, i never want to graduate!

i would argue that most of the fans that come for football games are loud. basketball, not so much.
-
wonder if this means the end zone student seating is sold out also...5500 students is f'in awesome. but 8500 is ridiculously sweet. in a 30,000 seat stadium, that's deafening. can't wait! lets go zips!!!kinda puts things in perspective. last year i was pumped when we had ~1500 students for the last game. multiply that by 3 and add some = our worst case scenario right now

maybe it's just me, but i hate miami's campus. every building looks the same. it's beautiful place don't get me wrong, but after awhile, when every building is the same, it just gets stale i guess.

That's funny, Darryl Clark and Evan Royster must be the only QB and RB on the team then...-I was very impressed with the run defense. I fully expected Royster to go off for 200+ and a few td's, with Stepgon Green(e?) adding about 100 more yards.
