  1. Three new offers:DE Jason StargelDE Wes JohnsonDE Tyrique Jarrett
  2. Moe just might have been right. Is Jawon the real deal?
  3. I want him to admit that his playcalling was ridiculously bad. CK already mentioned his bigger gaffes in another thread, and I'm being led to believe by his interviews that he still thinks that kicking off twice or going for 3 when you're down by 21 will somehow win games.
  4. We've got plenty of political crap in the OT forum. Nothing explicitly stated in the thread titles, though. Maybe someone should start one for arguments to be held in. Anyway, this thread is about iCoach's interview. I read it again. This quote is a terrible analogy."I think you're either green and growing or ripe and rotting, both as a coach and as a program. I think our program is clearly green and growing, and as a coach you always need to be green and growing."It's the mindset of a perpetual builder. It doesn't allow for sustained success. In his mind, you're either building the program or tearing it down to build again. But what happens when you're stuck constantly placing and demolishing the very first brick, unable to move on until you think you placed it absolutely perfectly?
  5. Blake Justice is injured. It's minor (ankle), but it might be cause enough to redshirt him if his development falls behind even a little on such a deep roster.I was looking forward to seeimg him play, though. He's a scorer, more than anyone else on the team he knows how to put the ball through the hoop. We haven't seen a scorer like him in a long time. Maybe dating back to Jacubick.
  6. Flexibility is great. The roster has something of everything, and we can mix and match our lineup to fit the opponent. Not everyone will play every game, but their unique skill sets should mean that they get in when the situation warrants. The best players give us an advantage no matter who we are up against, but having a diversified bunch of solid role players complimenting your stars is a recipe for success. When Zeke was out of the game, our double-PF set frustrated and blew through the competition down low. Will we find a player who can take over Brett McKnight's role as a compliment to Nik in that set?
  7. http://www.cleveland.com/sports/college/in...xpects_sig.htmlHe doesn't plan on changing any strategies this year. "Stay the course" is his message.
  8. 16 new players. That's a bit ridiculous.A school could field that 16-man all-newcomer team and make the Sweet 16 with ease.
  9. The Q is a really nice basketball arena. It's also a great hockey arena and AFL stadium. It's entirely possible to have a modular seating design that is perfectly configured for whatever sport is being played.
  10. ESPN is now suing OSU, who allegedly illegally impeded ESPN's investigation into the scandal. They're suing specifically to obtain the things that OSU was hiding from investigators. I hope they win and it happens before the NCAA ruling.
  11. If we ever wanted to add a men's sport, all we would need to do is add women's Rowing which uses a ton of scholarships for Title IX and hardly costs a thing.
  12. I went with AJ Price. No real reason, just a feeling. We don't know if Moore will start. Rossi and Wilson might be injured. Chisholm's spring game was good, but it was against our defense. Williams will be the most exciting player of the bunch if he is allowed to return kicks and punts.
  13. I havent heard anything about how this 7 on 7 session went. Any news? From what little I can gather, we were much improved. I didn't find a score.Just have to wait for camp to start. While coaches aren't allowed to observe, they do hear what happened.
  14. LB Nayeem Wartman commits to Penn State
  15. Yeah, but what they think seems to be very far from reality. They also thought they would be fine suspending Tressel for only two games.
  16. LeBron takes his LJ23 sponsorship to South BeachDid he just replace the Zips' deal with one for the 'Canes? No mention of UA being included.
  17. Corey Smith re-opens his recruitment.
  18. as a part of Jon Teitel's "Coaching Greats" Series.
  19. OSU responded today by vacating all their wins from the 2010 season. They also suspended two more players for the game against the Zips. But that's it. No scholarship loss, no post-season ban. I doubt that the NCAA will accept that as being good enough of a punishment. Here's the press release.
  20. Maybe if we do build an arena, the D-league team would move here like the Aeros did. I can see a D-league being more successful in Akron than somewhere else, especially if it's affiliated with the Cavs. Say they draft a prospect and want them to spend a year developing. At the very least, that would draw the Cavs beat media in, since it's such an easy drive, much easier than Canton or Erie. It's not like the Aeros suffer from poor attendance because the Indians are 40 miles away. I think it actually helps. A minor league team won't do as well if it's too far outside the region dominated by the pro team's fans unless it's the only show in town.
  21. New offer: QB Steve Franco
  22. DT Jeff Palmer is walking on for the Zips.
  23. It's becoming such a common occurrence in the MLS for former Zips to do something newsworthy that it might be easier to put them in one mega-thread.To start it off, here's Ben Zemanski's long-range goal from last night. I guess he wasn't satisfied with letting Nagbe have all the facetime on Sportscenter's Top 10.
  24. I don't know where Zeke will be when the season gets here, but last week he said that he weighed in @ 235 lbs trying to get to 240 - 245.So long as he doesn't lose any agility, this is great news.
  25. New offer: DE Michael Ippolito
