  1. Pitt fans are treating the news regarding Latina as being 100% true. It appears that Haywood is trying to re-unite as much of Charlie Weiss' staff at ND as possible. That means half our coaching staff could be getting phone calls from him.
  2. Moore now supposedly visiting LA Lafayette. - Twitter.
  3. Just turned it on. Can't get enough of seeing that trophy.
  4. Turn on 19 Action news right now!
  5. Footballscoop is saying that Mike Haywood is trying to get our Offensive Coordinator and TE coach John Latina to follow him to Pitt.
  6. Good news on the horizon? Ianello's tweet: "I had a great day on the road recruiting today, we are having a great time adding key pieces to our program."
  7. Put your minds at ease. UA extends coach Porter's contract through 2020. I think the USMNT will come calling before then, but not so soon that he won't have plenty of opportunities to establish a Soccer dynasty. Also, thanks to Mr. Wistrcill and Dr. Proenza for supporting the program the way they have.
  8. We have the potential for a few individual NCAA winners in Track and Rifle, with a little luck. That could get us some points. Any team that makes it to the NCAA tournament in their sport gets a point, I believe. We won't win this thing, but with a good year from the winter and spring sports we could manage to be in the top 10. I still prefer the Directors Cup as a measure, but only the winner gets something from them.
  9. Don't forget that some players will be eligible to play in the spring game that weren't on the team last year, such as Zack D'Orazio, Oren Wilson, and any JUCOs we sign before Jan 15th. We lose 16 seniors to graduation. According to the online roster, that leaves 66 players who will be returning, unless some have left after the season. I think around 70 will play, adding in newcomers and a few losses.
  10. Don't have much info on him. He visited campus on Friday and committed a few days later.
  11. Now we're screwed.
  12. The newspaper you linked about all those JUCO players signing. Gotcha. I guess I just figured since today was JUCO mid-year signing day the newspaper was providing the best information they had at the time (in terms of where these guys were going to sign). Seems like a reasonable approach to me. Do you think the paper used the message board post as it's source? Seems more likely to me that Clayton let select people know of his intentions, and word leaked to the board before the paper could print it's story. It's possible. For the newspaper to know where all the players were going, they probably talked to someone on the coaching staff. JUCO signing period lasts until January 15th, and they don't traditionally all sign on the first day like the high school recruits. There's plenty of time to let things play out.
  13. UMass fans appear interested in striking up a rivalry with us. I like the idea. Also, their admittance to the MAC seems almost certain at this point, looking at the links they posted further down in their thread and since MAC officials visited their campus yesterday.
  14. The newspaper you linked about all those JUCO players signing.
  15. I suspect this is because he hasn't been allowed to practice with the team until today. I'm sure he played lots of pick-up ball with his teammates in the Rec, though. This is probably getting my hopes up too much, but I would have liked to see him use the spare time freed up by not practicing to work with the greyshirt (who I believe also aren't allowed to practice with the team) players to get them better prepared for Dambrot's system.
  16. A little more research on Clayton tells me that he has great potential. Biggest weakness appears to be arm strength. He would have 3 years to play. On the Ole Miss boards, somebody mentioned that he signed with Akron. They mentioned this yesterday, well before any "journalistic" reports of him coming here surfaced. Statistically he's a better passer and rusher than Zack Stoudt, whom many on here were raving about. His JUCO highlights:
  17. Thanks for the heads up. This should be good for the players' development. I have no doubt that Kitchen and Valentin will be great assets for the U-20 team.
  18. A JUCO QB is always a risk. Much more so than a position with a high amounts of substitutions. Maybe the JUCO experience humbled him. Maybe not. I know that he just led his team to a win in the Mississippi bowl, whatever that is. They were ranked #7 before upsetting the #3 team in that game.
  19. I wonder if this effects Lot Niners™ If you look, these dorms will be replacing the townhouses, Grant Residence Hall, and Galucci. Original stadium plans had dorms going in Lot 9. I was told by nobody in particular that they ran out of money and were going to eventually put dorms in Lot 9. With these dorms getting approved, is there a need for Lot 9 dorms now? Is there still a need? Maybe. Maybe if we continue to be at 100% capacity. Remember these aren't creating that many new beds, since it requires demolition of other dorms. If Lot 9 goes, they should clear Memorial field and turn it into a giant grass tailgate lot reminiscent of the Rubber Bowl.
  20. http://www.ohio.com/news/111983339.html UA approves new dorm deal.
  21. If he plays, I think he splits minutes with McClanahan. We need an instant offense guy off the bench and I thing McKnight could provide that.
  22. It appears that Brett MKnight has announced his return via Facebook within the last hour.
  23. Interesting. I'll wait a bit to see if anything official beyond "expected to sign" comes up. If he does sign, it's great news.
  24. Marshall is a marked man. he can't get within 5 feet of another player without getting called. Meanwhile, their bigs are knocking him all over the floor with no call.
  25. Zips get their first JUCo verbal! OL Vinnie Rizzo from Nassau CC. Also, a new offer: MLB Siriki Diabate
