There may not be a series between the schools, but there is hope that ESPN will look kindly on us and match Akron and CSU together in the Bracketbuster. It's our only chance of playing a team that should be a natural geographical rival.

I wouldn't look much into the "starters vs starters" thing. If you remember last season, Akron's biggest strength was the fact that they could substitute out the entire starting five and hardly lose a drop of production. Depth is the greatest strength of this team. The starters are good, not great, but so are the bench players. I'll take a team with 12 above-average players over a team with three great players but a weak supporting cast any day.

The soccer team always struggles when the band is playing. I like the band, but please, please stay far away from the soccer field.

We give up 377 yards of passing from a freshman from Ken+, and we have a good defense?!? Not my idea of good D. I'll say for once I seen the staff try to put some pressure on the QB, but that's as far as I'm willing to go.We gave up 377 yards because the only thing Can't did all day was pass. Keith was 30/59 on the day. A 50.8 completion percentage for 12.6 ypc. Nicely was 19/34, good for a 55.9% completion percentage and 13.7 ypc.They put up so many passing yards for two reasons. The first is that they were playing from behind almost all game. The second is that they couldn't run the ball at all. It's easy to rack up huge yards through the air when you take almost 60 pass attempts.

That there was a downturn in recruiting. When Jeff was here, we were being considered by guys like JD Weatherspoon and Adreian Payne. National prospects going to title contenders. Euton will be a very good player in the MAC, but he's just not on the level that those guys are supposed to be. Maybe he'll turn out to be way better than any of those guys, but on paper it's just not the same.I don't really know anything about Ennis, so I can't compare him.

A good coach would find a way to have at least moderate success with the talent he is given to start with. Then, over time, he would gradually adjust the schemes as he gets more of the kind of players that he prefers and that should produce an improvement.

Saturday is a three-sport day, and two of those sports will be playing in a major game.Things start off at 12:00 in the JAR when the Women's Basketball team plays their exhibition game against Ashland (If you're a hoops fan at heart, this game is for you). After that, the football team takes on Can't State in a game that should be a thriller if the past two Wagon Wheel games are any indication. Then to cap off the day the Soccer team will play Hartwick at home to continue their quest for perfection. It's going to be an all-day affair.Also, the NCAA may have recently ruled that noisemakers are to be allowed for MAC conference games in Soccer. They were previously prohibited.

Jake, would you consider the location of the abandoned carwash to be on campus, at least after the dorms are built across the street from it? It kind of makes sense. It puts all of our athletics venues on Exchange street and it has all the advantages that the stadium has as far as traffic and visibility.

Bleacher Report picks Akron to be a 13 seed against ButlerI would hope we do better than a 13-seed again. Unfortunately, a lot of where the MAC champ ends up depends on the performance of the rest of the conference.

You can't get onto the grass or student sections at the Info without showing a Zipcard, just like you can't get into the seats behind the basket in the JAR without both swiping a Zipcard and wearing an AK-Rowdies shirt. UA is very protective of their strategic seating.

Hoping for a huge student turnout this game. The Rowdies will have to lead the way.Also hoping for a large Zips fan turnout in general.The real key to winning is to make less mistakes. Play like you want to win. If there's any game this season that the players should "wake up" for, it's this one.
