  1. As my eloquent father would say: What a chach.
  2. Great win. Great crowd. I especially enjoyed the upper GA student section. They were very into it. On a second half Kretzer 3, with the ball in the air I turned to watch the student section reaction and I was not disappointed: nearly the entire section came out of their seat. Speaking of, I'm loving the fact that we have an above average 4 (Abreu, Zeke, Tree, Harney) and get to play the hot hand between Chauncey, Walsh and Kretzer for the 3 ball. Not like in years past where you hoped McClannahan was on or it was going to be a long night. Honestly I was never worried during this game. Disappointed when we got down 13, but at that point OU was shooting 71% from the field and 60% from 3 point. I kept telling myself that OU couldn't play better and they couldn't keep it up for the whole game. Plus there's this fact: OU is soft. S. O. F. T. Marshmallowy soft. Poor Ivo Baltic... maybe he could have contributed if they counted all his 3 point makes during pregame shootaround. Once the game started, Tree accosted him so physically I thought OU was going to have to cancel another day of classes. Keely: pffffftttt. Nobody on that team of wanted any part of anything within 15 feet of the basket. Content to jump passing lanes to get runout baskets and hope for a high 3 point percentage. Hey DJ, keep throwing them up from the parking lot. Lastly, props to speedo guy for making the security guard come tell you to put your clothes back on on 3+ separate occasions. I spit my diet coke on the gentlemen in front of me when, during 2nd half shootaround, you laid down in front of OU's basket, legs spread eagle, and beckoned to OU players "Hey... hey... come here... look at this."
  3. So that crystallizes my view... I would not be in favor of dropping a level in the current structure, but I would be open to not being in the top level if there was a new level between FBS and FCS that other MAC/WAC/Sunbelt/Half the Big10 were in and competed for a playoff championship. I would be even more behind that if there was a mechanism in place to move up levels based on performance. If I'm honest, that's the caliber of teams I want to play against anyways. I'm tired of playing OSU just to hope for a close loss. I much rather enjoy when I see Indiana on the schedule because I know we could get to a level where we beat them consistently and then you have some bragging rights with the "big boys" that, yeah, I can regularly beat the schools that you always crowed about regularly beating.
  4. Put Texas Southern in the Quick Win/Low hanging fruit category.
  5. I'm warming to the idea of splitting off the "big boys" and not allowing them to play down divisions. Someone could educate me better on the European soccer league and how it actually works, but I'd LOVE a scenario where after every year or two the top four and bottom four teams of every division were promoted or demoted. Not sure how conference affiliations would work in that scenario, but it would be great to see.
  6. I thought you hated 6-sigma?
  7. Was up in Cleveland for a training a few months ago. Grabbed a burger, fries and spicy fried pickle appetizer at BRGR9 on West 9th. A place that tries a little too hard IMO, but it was some really good eats.
  8. I like Joe, but heading into that one break was so hilarious I had to rewind and call the wife into the room. Blinking is one thing... can he not sit there and not twitch his mouth like he's about to say something. Overall, light years ahead of the Dambrot show. Thank God for HD. I'm looking forward to both of those shows going forward.
  9. I liked how the 43 had the strategy to go fast and not crash. Also how the 31 tried to go fastest. In the end, I like how the winner didn't have to pit that last time. I've often thought the NFL would be more exciting if the superbowl came down to who drank the least water during the last two minute warning.
  10. As a student/graduate of both engineering schools, you are spot on with your analysis.
  11. #2 isn't awful, although I don't like shirts with too much on them, makes them stiff and overbearing #3 isn't awful, although I don't like the font used for wreak havoc. It looks too... I don't know... graffiti-like? The rest are awful... especially the first one. Aside from making no sense, it reminds me of Hot Topic.
  12. I believe his question was who deserves to be paid higher?
  13. How does Eckard-Baldwin feel about doing commercials for the show? Is it a conflict of interest after they presided over the funeral service of our offense last year?
  14. List of things you can have, but shouldn't be proud of: ... 67. Herpes 68. A PM from Jake 69. A tramp-stamp of your best friends name 70. KKK endorsement ...
  15. I hate these Akron vs. Cleveland fights. As if some schmuck from Altoona isn't a Pittsburgh fan.
  16. Have a hard time comparing someone to a career journeyman simply because he never beat out Rodgers for the starting spot. Also can't see how taking someone who has done anything in his only nfl starts is more desperate than taking a rookie.
  17. Lake High School (Hartville since 5th grade) BSME 2008 Mom graduated from UA with a teaching degree in the mid 70's.

  19. I also caught the show last week. First off I agree with other posters, they need to get that thing in HD quick. It's looks so mom-and-pop. Second, I enjoyed the Nik interview, I'm proud of his accomplishments in the classroom and his future goals. Third, KD needs to loosen up, Dunn and KD's back and forth seemed a little mechanical. Maybe they need to throw in a desk to sit behind (see every other show on STO) and tell the guys it's OK to talk over each other from time to time. Lastly, where can I buy stock in Eckard Baldwin funeral homes? They seem to be doing well. Personal note: I like the funeral home guy, I think my extended family has bought him a house over the many decades we've been in Akron, but there's something about that commercial... the dark circles around his eyes, the non-HD quality, the poor JAR lighting... he looks like the Grim Reaper standing next to KD.
  20. The same thing happens with Tee It Up Ohio, I think it has something to do with STO not filling out the date or info details. Or my DTV box is embarrassed by my golf game and is trying to help out the only way it knows how.
  21. There seems to be quite a few of them down here in Columbus. I think they're awesome. I had a civil engineer friend in college who assisted on a design for a roundabout right in front of Lake HS. They've recently put in a stoplight instead (if you know the area). He said for whatever reason their roundabout design was treated like it only belonged in 3rd world socialist countries.
  22. A certain Aluminum mill that has existed on that site since the dawn of time.
  23. I constantly have to tell out of state vendors over the phone that no, I'm not located in New Jersey.
  24. I work with a fellow engineer down here whose kids go to Big Walnut. Blasting them last year was a treat. I work out in Newark, and was asking to find out who the "good schools" are around there. Dresden Tri-Valley was brought up as one, then they asked where I went to school. It was late fall 2008 and we had just hung 49 on them.
