  1. I sure like to watch Craft play, it's a shame he is out of the tourney. Dayton fought hard and hit free throws. Would it not be odd to see WMU/Cuse 17-34 at half?
  2. Western starting off the same way they did against the Zips.
  3. Not picking on you a-zip, but I read this over and over at ZN, I can't figure out what one has to do with the other? Fans should not want more success now because Coleman Crawford was a bad coach then? Ridiculous. I want to win an NCAA tournament game, like OU, Ken+, Miami, EMU...how hard is that? Nobody is suggesting firing KD, but he NEEDS to change something up. We say "think bigger", but we continue to think and do the same. I fear the same thread at the end of next year.
  4. Great place to watch all the games. They also have an iOS and Android (I think) app. Looking forward to the Dayton game today. It's a little different from Dayton's perspective, in what Miller referred to as a ''big brother-little brother'' relationship between his Atlantic 10 Conference school and a Big Ten powerhouse.
  5. As promised here are some notes from assistant coach Charles Thomas from last night post game (KD took a pass on the interview with Steve). Per CT: Zips didn't play D, but neither did the Dons (love that nickname). It was tough to get up for this game. Old School had his most comfortable game, he had four assists. (as I mentioned earlier, he has to lead the team in picks per minutes, now if we can just get the roll, and the pass going). This is a young team, BJ and Jackson HAVE to be ready to provide quality minutes next season. Here is the part I'm sure we'll hear from the 'Practice Preachers' at the beginning of next season. If BJ shows any signs of what he did in the last month of practice, we should be excited. CT he can play the 1,2, and 3, but sees him at the 3 spot. CT says he guards Tree in practice. He is special when he has the ball. He will be special, not just in the MAC, but in the nation. So there you have it, the silver lining...again. Last note on the game. I couldn't help thinking at halftime last night, I'm sure we are going to come out and play some different types of defenses to throw them off their offensive game, some zone maybe, for sure we are going to press them. Nope. Same ol same ol. Doing the same thing and expecting different results.... Once again, great feed. The MAC should hire whomever is in charge of that site. Edit, now that I look, I guess it's CBS. They do a great job with the NCAA tournament.
  6. No he didn't do the interview, he let assistant coach Charles Thomas speak. I'll post more of what he said tomorrow. Entertaining game even though the team decided not to give it their all on D. Not surprising in this "tournament."
  7. I wish I didn't chicken out with a parlay tonight. Could have doubled up. Thought that was a no brainer in Athens.
  8. I'm going to be disappointed if KD doesn't do an interview. Enough with the Spaghetti Warehouse defensive player of the game! Vacate the award, we gave up 97!?!
  9. You (the viewer) can actually count the people at the game if you wanted to. 12 rows and 10 seats in a section? Nice feed. Decent announcing (compared to other visiting announcers and Reghi). Old School sets more picks per minute than any recent Zips player. Tree should score 40.
  10. I can make the line move...
  11. Zips two and a half point underdog. OU and CSU a pick em.
  12. Per Zips Line email: Tickets for Saturday's game can be ordered through our ticket office by calling 1-888-99-AKRON (25766) through 10 a.m. today. Tickets for Saturday's game cost $18. If we win, those who purchase for Saturday will be automatically charged $14 per ticket for Monday's game, as the NCAA automatically charges us for our ticket allotment. For those of you who purchased tickets through us and will be traveling to West Lafayette on your own, representatives from our ticket office will be in the lobby of the team hotel, the Four Points by Sheraton (1600 Cumberland Ave, 47906), Friday night and Saturday morning. UA ticket reps will also staff our team will call window at Mackey Arena starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Please bring photo identification to claim your tickets. We look forward to seeing many of you in West Lafayette this weekend as our Women make history! If you can't make the trip, remember that Johnny J’s in the Valley is hosting a Zips Watch Party.
  13. Stainbrook's nineteen points is not enough to advance Xavier to the same round as Western Michigan.
  14. Who's ready for the greatest sporting event in the world? Here is a look at all 68 teams in the field. MID-MAJOR DANGER We weren't joking about the number of viable mid-major upset threats in the bracket. They're everywhere. Let's scout them: Western Michigan (59): The Broncos turn the ball over all the time, but it's worth fearing any team that handled MAC favorite and onetime at-large hopeful Toledo so effortlessly. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here's a look at one time Zip coach Shaka Smart's VCU Rams. They are my adopted team in the tourney along with any other Mac team. Shaka Smart’s program has shown poise in navigating through the rigorous A-10 schedule, which the Rams successfully did with only four defeats and a second-place finish in the competitive league. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you think your winning Warren Buffet's billion dollars, your not. Don't waste your time. Chances are one in 9 quintillion.
  15. I would have voted for; non-scholarship, pays his own way, is in shape, is truly sorry, turns his life around, wins an ncaa tournament game, graduates, gets a great job after graduation, has a nice family, makes a difference in his community...and doesn't get many minutes because we have better options at PG. I didn't see that option, so I selected the second one. Go Zips.
  16. Testify!
  17. I have never understood this rational.
  18. Use the Jawanza Moore senior theory.
  19. if ???
  20. Detailed link posted here in the MAC Tournament Watch thread.
  21. I would hope that during his time between his junior year and his senior year, he takes free throw shooting to another level. He can, and should WANT, to get to the line often. That would be a great weapon to have each and every game.
  22. Hmmmm, Joe may be wiser than most.
  23. Difference was Diggs creating offense....and dare I say Carmelo showing some effort!?!?
  24. Nice call, Q right down N'Dour street!
