  1. Of the three, I like Blake. I have only watched a few games of his, and listened to one on the radio, so I'm no expert. I've watched enough of Manziel to realize, I don't want him anywhere near the offense that I design from week to week. I've watched a few games of Teddy's, and I'm not sold. I'm shocked the Steelers sent scouts to watch one of his games this year. If I'm the Browns, I don't draft a QB at number four. I wait for my (QB) guy to fall, and then put some picks together and come back and get him if he is there. Hopefully at 15, but probably 7.
  2. Score 67 points, win. Ken+ sux.
  3. Houston sports writer John McClain writes the Texans are considering all three. Fell free to explain your pick below. This selection could be important to the Browns, as they may have the same selection, one way or another, and are thought to be considering picking a QB.
  4. I guess I'm in the minority, I appriciated when Bosley and Andrick played a physical game for the Zips. Opened up a lot of shots, and got us to the charity stripe. Basketball is a physical game. McCrea's play was a foul.
  5. Same thing happens in the NFL. It would have been implemented this year, if not for a missed call.
  6. I agree. Like most stats, they are skewed by variables. They don't take into account the level of competition that each faced, or offensive, or defensive philosophies. Can you imagine Jimmal (or others) playing in the MAC the last four years, or Tarver (or others) playing in today's offensive philosophy? I would venture to guess the numbers would be a tad different. But it's still always fun to dream. I hope Tree ends up being number one on the list.
  7. Akron Zips M Bball @ZipsMBB If the #BEATKENT game wasn't enough, the first 1,000 @uakron students & @TheAKROWDIES will each get 1 of these items: pic.twitter.com/eHUTC8Fk5a
  8. Steeler fans have Dri on their mind here and here. Mel Kiper is listing Khalil Mack as his number three overall right now. McShay is the same. Jordan's less than stellar throwing at the combine has some questioning his NFL QB ability. The godfather sees him trying RB. (article from way before combine 10/13, you don't get the godfather name by mistake) Lynch seems to be open to "anything that gets him in the pros." “Kind of in my head, I’d like to stay on offense — running back, slot receiver — I feel like I need the ball in my hands. I’m a playmaker,” Lynch said Friday at the NFL scouting combine. “Some teams, there’s some questions whether I can play safety or not. And, I mean, that would be great and everything, but I feel like offense (is better for me).”
  9. Here is a good place to discuss. Edit: Skip, I moved your post to the discussion.
  10. Watch any recent 49er's games?
  11. True. More of this please
  12. The ZN theme has been updated. If you enjoyed the IPS default, it is easy enough to change back. Here is a how to.
  13. Multiple looks are offered on ZipsNation, if you would like to change the overall look to your page: 1. Go to the very bottom of the page on the left side 2. Click on "Change Theme" 3. Select the the theme that you would like
  14. Personally, I love the Clevelander. Lots of bikinis, and located right across from the beach!
  15. Well done.
  16. Hipsher was 74-90 in the MAC back when the MAC was a two bid conference.
  17. One should never forget with the amount of reminders written. 2014 Zips Football Schedule: Thu., Aug. 28 – Howard Sat., Sept. 6 – at Penn State Sat., Sept. 20 – Marshall Sat., Sept. 27 – at Pittsburgh Sat., Oct. 4 – Eastern Michigan* (Homecoming) Sat., Oct. 11 – Miami (Ohio)* Sat., Oct. 18 – at Ohio* Sat., Oct. 25 – at Ball State* Tue., Nov. 4 – Bowling Green*, 8 p.m. ET (ESPN2 or ESPNU) Tue., Nov. 11 – at Buffalo*, 8 p.m. ET (ESPN2 or ESPNU) Tue., Nov. 18 – Massachusetts*, 8 p.m. ET (ESPNU or ESPN3) Tue., Nov. 25 – at Can't State*, 7 p.m. ET (ESPN2 or ESPN3) Fri., Dec. 5 – MAC Championship Game 7 p.m. ET (ESPN2)
  18. While I will probably be at both Tuesday night home games, I probably won't get to tailgate. I feel robbed out of two tailgates, and the season hasn't even started.
  19. I really wasn't looking for a coaches answer from 2010 to "what kind of offense do the Zips run?" I'm looking for fans observation on what creative schemes they see on the floor during game time. But rereading that answer is like reading the script to the Godfather, and then showing up at the JAR to watch Joe vs the Volcano.
  20. If that's true, it would be kind of cool. I like the thought of tone on tone black (not matte), except for playing in the south in August and early September. The only thing better than new uniforms, is another thread about new uniforms.
  21. Not picking on you, just looking for an honest opinion, what year did the Zips have creative scheme(s)? This question is open to anyone with an opinion.
  22. Nice read Bill. While Bill makes a lot of good points, this one will likely be the most important to improve upon. "If you're going to average 10.8 yards per completion, your completion rate better be around 70 percent. Kyle Pohl's was 56 percent. That's not going to work." I hope Kyle is practicing multiple crossing routes and studying his playbook ad nauseum.
  23. Originally I thought it was just a minor wiping issue, but now I realize its a major whipping issue. Zips basketball has made some repugnant headlines in the last year.
  24. Great idea Keener. I just got back from South Beach. Great food. You really can't go wrong with most places there. If you were in town for a quick trip Nexxt Cafe is a place most will like due to the massive menu selection. I could also put Nexxt Cafe in the burger thread. Great place to people watch since it is in Lincoln Mall (outside area). After dinner you can walk up a couple blocks to the Hafbrauhaus.
