  1. "The face plastered on billboards throughout the area and the wrap-around ads in the Beacon Journal reveals an heir apparent has risen to prominence for the University of Akron basketball team. Senior forward Demetrius Treadwell will see his profile upped significantly this coming season, but that’s not nearly as important as what effect he will have on the team." Finally, someone is getting it. PS With the B&W graphics, "Back The Zips" is starting to grow on me.
  2. I would hope there is more to the four day suspension than just an artistic expression.
  3. He should officially change his name like Chad Johnson did. That way it would force people to use that name. Worked for Chad. Elton writes Zips are ready.
  4. The rule is specifically AWAY from the basket. For a coach that emphasizes defense, I would think it will definitely be an issue.
  5. I'm half kidding. I have too much respect for Joe to ask that silly question, but I would LOVE it if he did. AND it might generate some talk about the show. If he did it, and there was a youtube clip of it, I would forward it along to SI's Hot Clicks....I just learned that Jimmy left!?!
  6. Good. More entertaining. The Zips staff should follow suit.
  7. On? On Joe?
  8. Good call! I would guess this might be an option for some, considering the weather forecast. I wonder if this will be HD?
  9. Good idea. I enjoyed them. I posted one here with a few minor technical comments.
  10. Thirteen votes, not one for the Zips?
  11. Short answer, "hippies." Here is some Japanese poetry on the subject. This 2007 'Every Minute' Photoshop contest reveals some insight. There is a Pictorial Dictionary here. Enjoy.
  12. Jerrod Dillard talks about getting his first road victory as a Zip with George Thomas. Assuming this was shot on a mobile phone. Mobile Phone tripods are helpful. If you shoot on auto white balance, don't shoot faces with widows or bright lights behind them. Thanks. Enjoyed the video.
  13. Feel free to make your predictions below.
  14. Printing the two designs on more sheets than they would ever use, might cost fifteen hundred bucks (high end).
  15. I would like to see Joe wear the helmet during the entire show. He will look cool, AND he will sound like Lord Vader if properly mic'd.
  16. The Zips were underdogs only 6 times last season. The only time they won as an underdog was against Ohio.
  17. THIS is the play you run in Ann Arbor when it's 3rd and 1 at the Michigan 2 late in the 4th quarter. Not Chisholm outside for a two yard loss. Thanks B&G, I enjoyed that! Good to see the team having fun.
  18. Again, I just don't understand with all the useless stats in sports, how is it that 'snap count' is not one in NCCA football? I would LOVE to know snap counts after each game. It helps me evaluate who, and how we scheme from week to week. Sorry for the constant Steeler reference, but it's what I know. Here is a nice example of using snap count to support an article.
  19. Absolutely. Ianello's teams were money makers. Bowden is too hard. I'll stick with KD, he is predictable money maker.
  20. Zach could have pinned the Huskies deep twice yesterday in critical situations and kicked the ball into the end zone resulting in minimal field position exchange. He was no MVP yesterday. I liked the change at punt returner.
  21. IMO Pohl doesn't help himself out. He abandons his pocket prematurely too many times. If he stands tall in the pocket and steps into his throws, he is accurate. Maybe he thinks he is trying to protect his injury. When he starts moving, he loses his effectiveness. Play calling to start the game was improved yesterday.
  22. It's safe to say the majority of ZN has little idea from week to week what coach Bowden's team will do on the field.
  23. Agreed.
  24. Fast off edge, needs work on run support / tackling technique.
  25. CJ James Update from George Unfortunately for the Zips, there has been no word on senior defensive end C.J. James, who didn’t play last week against Ohio and still hasn’t had his NCAA eligibility issue cleared up. He is able to practice with the team, but cannot travel or play.
