  1. Nice observations Balsy. Do you know how many tackles Mizell had? Nice gallery of photos from ESPN
  2. Nice thread about the game here.
  3. Some, but not all. When you score 70 points, that should give you confidence. 600 yards of offense against Nicholls St (I honestly have never heard of them). 53 rushes for 456 yards!?! Our front seven will seem to be important in this one. Glad they are playing well. Edit: Nicholls beat W. Mich in Kalamazoo?
  4. The big house is as advertised...very nice. I'll post some photos tomorrow, nothing high res, just from my iPhone. Everything in the place seems new and clean. Lots of nice brick architecture. Someone mentioned that you would feel like you were far from the field since they didn't have two tiers...I didn't get that feeling at all. I was half way up, and had a great seat. I asked others at the top how their seat was and they liked their view too. I really don't think there is a bad seat in the place. It actually doesn't feel like 107,000 people. Others that were there can comment. Downtown Ann Arbor is very nice. Clean town. We walked down Main street checking out a few places before we hit the Jolly Pumpkin and ate and drank some of the Pumpkin's own beer. Had a belgium and a porter, both very good. Good food also. Other ZN members told me about good experiences downtown too, but I'll let them post about those places if they choose to. Tailgating was pretty cool. I read about tailgating on the golf course, but didn't really expect to be tailgating ON the golf course. We didn't get to our spot until about 9:15. We had a little traffic coming through town, but nothing insane. Drove right past the stadium and pulled into the golf course. $40 to park during nonconfernce games, $50 otherwise. We parked near the seventh green. Speaking to a lot attendant, he told me they park near 2,000 vehicles a game there. They don't park cars when there is heavy rain so they don't tear up the course. They make around a million a year parking on the course. Fans were friendly. When we pulled into our spot I got out and spoke to the Michigan fan next to me, "sorry that you have to park next to the only Zip fans here today." He responded, "you know something, that is exactly what the Appalachian State fan said to me." All an all, if you ever thought about going to the big house, don't hesitate, do it! One more thing, PLENTY of tickets available on game day. Michigan fan next to me told me, if you are just looking for a single ticket, you can score one for $10 ninety percent of the time. PS I used my passbook on my iPhone to get into the game, tickets from Stubhub app downloaded to passbook. I've never done that, just wanted to let others that were curious know it worked fine.
  5. Welled played game by the Zips in a great atmosphere. It amazes me that Pohl has such accuracy 40 yards down the sideline, but seems inconsistent on a skinny post. He needs more practice reps on those, but he played well overall. OL played great except for the last play (cable zero train — a blitz that got lb Beyer to the QB). I'll put together an animated gif breaking down the last play tomorrow. It was actually a well designed play that was going to work. Defensive line played great, UCF's offensive line played better than Michigan's (as I predicted before we played UCF). Michigan is not a very good team, Gardner's running ability covers his inefficiencies as a passer, and a lot of their teams issues. Gardner reminds me of playing Cribs in college. The team should be proud. I'll be interested to listen to coach on his show this week. Did AJ call all plays for that game? If he did, well done. Like others have stated we need to turn this near upset into a positive moving forward.
  6. This site seems to have some useful information on parking.
  7. I agree with the offense. I think Dalton got the ball out of his hands quicker. Probably due to the fact of his familiarity with the offense. I think the defense can be better this year. I liked the amount of pressure that the front four was creating in the UCF game. I think it will be interesting to see if they can stop Michigan's run game on early downs. I'm not confident in our secondary right now, but I'm hoping T-Buck got 'em fired up for tomorrow! "In 1991, my dad took one of his teams up there and won one of the biggest games in Florida State history, the first touchdown of the game was scored by T-Buck on a 40-yard interception."
  8. Some "story." Whitlock juuuuuust might be on to something. "Carter, a former Cowboys safety, was one of the main individuals that alleged that Oklahoma State players were paid by coaches, boosters and had academic coordinators completing school work for players. He claimed to have graduated from the school and to have attended classes with former running back Tatum Bell. However, records show that he did not graduate and that Bell was not enrolled at the school at the time Carter claimed."
  9. 68 degrees and sunny for game day
  10. Elton's view on the Michigan game.
  11. If your going to start using facts and instances in this thread without attacking members and acting like this is someones twitter page, I'm going to just stop reading right now. Did you hear the report from the Jets game last night? Somebody read the SI article to Santonio and asked for his opinion, he couldn't stop laughing long enough to comment.
  12. Doug Archie wrote the story first, no need for Evans. If there is some hard proof of Oklahoma State doing something wrong, and the staff knows about it, and does nothing, then they should go down the same. Precedent has been set.
  13. Interesting listen. Whitlock's opinion on Thayer Evans Thayer Evans Wiki page deleted I wonder if SI continues to run the other parts to this "hard hitting story" by Evans?
  14. More advice for those of us traveling to Ann Arbor. Definitely get to town early enough to tailgate. If you want to set up on your own you can either go to the golf course south of the stadium or Pioneer High School. Both provide big tailgate atmospheres. If you just want to walk around and experience things, you can always find parking in yards in the neighborhoods around the stadiums. I would recommend going to Zingerman's Deli if you want a kick ass sandwich. After the game hitting the bar scene on Main Street will be a nice reprieve from the student population which mainly hangs out on the campus bars up and down South University. Two personal recommendations if you do wander down to campus are Ashley's, one of the best places to find a wide selection of beer that I've been to, and The Brown Jug, which is a really great college bar and one of my favorite places to hang out and drink after games. If you're looking for food after the bar, be sure to grab a burrito from BTB (formerly Big Ten Burrito). You will be glad you did. Source PS This is the second place I have seen Zingerman's Deli recommended. UM grad told me to expect a wait, but it was worth it. Menu pdf (click here).
  15. In. See you guys there. Some info from a Michigan fan:
  16. I think your missing the topic of the original post. Faking an injury to draw a penalty, not bad calls by referees. All sports have bad calls, I think we can all agree to that.
  17. Thanks. I should be able to take a nice photo from my row.
  18. What rows are Akron's?
  19. Aren't Zip fans in section 8? There are 87 tickets in that section starting at $28.
  20. That was a projected score. Actual odds are +37 with an O/U of 56.5.
  21. I bought tickets off of stubhub, but there is a UM fan forum claiming there will be tons of tickets available up to game time for cheap. So if the price of the ticket has you scared, it sounds like it shouldn't.
  22. Invisible on this list.
  23. Hirschman not listed, Pohl listed as probable. Side note: Dri Archer listed as questionable.
  24. I'm with DIG on this one. Rubs me the wrong way. NHL has it right, it's a penalty if you act a fool. Deceiving may be part of the game, getting away with it is the issue.
  25. Works for me (Safari).
