  1. I have always enjoyed college ball more too, until LBJ got drafted by the Cavs, I was a big LBJ fan which made me start to like the NBA more. When LBJ left, most of my interest in the NBA diminished again. NOTHING beats March madness. It's the best. THAT is why I want to be (as much as a fan can) a part of it. Come on staff, we have the team, make it happen!
  2. Google "romeo travis akron zips", "jeremiah wood akron zips", "dru joyce akron zips" then click on "images" Rome 24, Wood 21, Joyce 12, Ball 5...not sure on Jenkins. PS If I were going old school, I might do a Buford (23..I think).
  3. Anything that has happened to them in the Mac will be considered child's play if one or both make it to the NBA.
  4. Nice story. Getting denied by the NCAA was the best thing that could happen for Zips marketing.
  5. George reported earlier this week in his mail bag ..."I was told with someone with knowledge of the situation that the Zips have 15 scholarships for this recruiting season. I do know that they redshirted a lot of talent from last year. I also know that the number may be in flux. Throughout the season I heard as few as 13 scholarships were available and 15 is the high watermark." Like BuckZip said, 85 by the summer is the important number, TB told me the same last year.
  6. Getting Zips apparel has been a struggle for long time Zip fans. Example, many Zip fans have went to third party vendors to have our own Zips gear made.
  7. Point four should be the difference in this one.
  8. I'm guessing your in the majority. I hope to see some zone tomorrow too. I'm dying to see how the staff plans to attack and defend. Hopefully the coaching is as good as it was against BG and KSPU. If that happens and AA plays two good halves, I like our chances. Okay, I guess I switched gears...
  9. Not me, I'm almost done enjoying the BG win. That game may go down as the pivotal one of the year IMO. Maybe this afternoon I'll switch gears.
  10. If you dressed me up in columbus gear, I think I would look this sad too. Poor guy.
  11. I'm not writing about whatever erroneous stat (redundant by the way) you are speaking of. I'm talking about your evaluation from looking at a box score. Specifically "there wasn't a lot different from most of the recent games" There was.
  12. Agreed. Like I said something has change. I'm glad it did. I have a little more confidence that our team is getting help that other teams are afforded.
  13. This is what happens when someone doesn't watch a game and just looks at stats. At no time were the Zips ever not in control of this game. They dominated last night. Of course a lot of things go into to that, but IMO Alex played two halves of good basketball. He needs to be sharp for the Zips to be at their best. He was last night, and it made all the difference. Zeke was the beneficiary of some excellent ball movement. Probably the least he had to work for points. The way he scored last night was the way I envisioned when he first signed with Akron. Harney to Tree to Zeke was one of the Zips best offensive plays this season. Another well coached game. I'm not sure what changed, but I'm glad it did, three well designed plays off of a timeout!?!? I fell off my coach on two of them. Tree is becoming a force that has to be reckoned with, it seems a team now must game plan against him leaving Zeke open for some daisies. KD saying Tree could be the best player the Zips ever had kind of surprised me. Not that it can't be true, just that KD said it. The team last night looked much different from games of recent past this year. I hope the progress continues Saturday.
  14. I'll be shocked if a real game is ever played there. The place is a wreck. Hope they paid cash. The end zone seating was closed off the last couple of years the Zips played there due to safety issues. I'm guessing this sale lets a business guy say he has a place to play (on paper).
  15. Great minutes by Pat tonight. Both ends of the court. Impressive.
  16. I was just going to ask why a starter with a bum knee is in during garbage time. Now he is on the bench. Solid play tonight...AND good plays out of time outs!!! That's how you pound crummy Mac teams. Jonaaaaasssss!
  17. Set some picks!
  18. You da man Keener! #DrinkBigger
  19. OHIO DOT COM The University of Akron agreed Wednesday morning to sell the Rubber Bowl to a Canton-based marketing group that seeks to place a United States Football League team in the facility. The Team1 Marketing Group will pay $38,000 for the 6.8-acre bowl and one foot around the perimeter. The proposed team would be called the Akron Fire.
  20. Odd situation. If they play the game before or after Saturday, it changes their routine up. Advantage Akron, IMO. #PBR #ASAP #OMG #ThinkBiggerBeers @DrZgoneWild...I'm practicing for social media day.
  21. Played guard, tackle and center!?! Highlights video of Cedric's Senior Season for the Simeon Wolverines 2010.
  22. Scout Profile NCSA profile with highlight video 6 months ago he commited to UC?!?
  23. You think this is the university selling them? I think it's just some Steeler fan from Stow.
  24. Added 175 followers to 1,630 in three days. Marketing has more BS numbers than sports, but I'm ready to say that for the money put in, this is one of Akron sports marketing's better ideas. Well done. Ride this one, don't stop. The black is starting to grow on me. Should they offer customized ones now? @ZipsNation, @DrZ, @ZekeFan, @ZipsWin....
