I'll be shocked if a real game is ever played there. The place is a wreck. Hope they paid cash.
The end zone seating was closed off the last couple of years the Zips played there due to safety issues.
I'm guessing this sale lets a business guy say he has a place to play (on paper).
I was just going to ask why a starter with a bum knee is in during garbage time. Now he is on the bench.
Solid play tonight...AND good plays out of time outs!!!
That's how you pound crummy Mac teams.
Jonaaaaasssss!

The University of Akron agreed Wednesday morning to sell the Rubber Bowl to a Canton-based marketing group that seeks to place a United States Football League team in the facility.
The Team1 Marketing Group will pay $38,000 for the 6.8-acre bowl and one foot around the perimeter.
The proposed team would be called the Akron Fire.
Odd situation. If they play the game before or after Saturday, it changes their routine up.
Advantage Akron, IMO. #PBR #ASAP #OMG #ThinkBiggerBeers @DrZgoneWild...I'm practicing for social media day.
Added 175 followers to 1,630 in three days. Marketing has more BS numbers than sports, but I'm ready to say that for the money put in, this is one of Akron sports marketing's better ideas. Well done. Ride this one, don't stop. The black is starting to grow on me. Should they offer customized ones now? @ZipsNation, @DrZ, @ZekeFan, @ZipsWin....
Congratulations. Many success stories have started this way. Clay Matthews, Michael Strahan, Terrell Owens, Mike Schneck, Jordy Nelson, Aeneas Williams, Darren Woodson, Scott Fujita, Santana Moss. JJ Watt!?! (I didn't even know this story until now)
AA is overly calculated until there is a sense of urgency (second half). He needs to come out from the tipoff like we are down by 20. I would challenge this team to score 85 on a night like tonight. Then you can go back to your slow down defensive game on Saturday.
Dude needs to do his research. I like the photos...and his recap.
So let’s recap here:
1. Akron moves forward with a cool idea to put Twitter handles on the back of its jerseys.
2. NCAA says “maybe” so the Zips show off the jersey, assuming that the NCAA will ultimately approve it.
3. NCAA pulls the plug on the fun because that’s what it does.
4. Akron puts out a statement about the NCAA denying its request, while generating even more hype for the concept. A good idea.
All ZN members can be official photographers, all you need is a camera. I would encourage all members to share their passion through art on ZN. It would be great if we could start a thread for any Zips games with photography. Anybody interested in looking to purchase, or just learn more about photography, should visit Ken Rockwell's site. It's a plethora of free information. A picture is worth a thousand words right?
ZipWatcher wrote a "how to" on uploading your images to the gallery on ZN.
The first half I couldn't help thinking, we have a few hundred news fans here tonight and, to steal the quote, we are pi$$ing down our legs. I hope they stuck around for the finish, because that's the entertainment you come out to see when you buy a ticket to a game. Nice work team.
