I had this elaborate long winded thesis written up to try to get you to admit that, such a waste of my time. You have given me an idea for a new angle though.

Good topic, nice list. I'm not sure how one define "busts." Expectations vs production? One issue I would have, would be the name David Harvey. (click through this SI list to see how many landed in the NFL including Tebow). He led the team in catches and TDs his freshman year!?!? My gawd that kid had talent, and it showed on the field. His off field issues ultimately ended up making his talents useless, but the dude had skills. The other guys on your list never showed much or anything on an Akron court/field, so that's what makes DH different. I probably wouldn't have Ianello #1, he's on the list for sure, but the biggest bust? Worst hire, yes. I never even heard of the dude when we hired him. I'll never understand that hire till the day I die. I would move Bain and Euton up on the list, and Conyers down. At least Conyers had one good year, but I agree with you, he should be on the list. You'll probably get a lot of others who disagree. Shane & Walt are probably deserving. Igor should have made the top ten. I think JD told the story of how PSU wanted him, but he said Akron offered first. I would disagree with Dru Joyce, Romeo Travis, and Jeremiah Wood. I think they played to their potential. I don't think it was any of their faults they didn't succeed more than they did. Fun topic.

Great interview!...but I'm guessing coach Bowden has never given a bad one. I'm buying whatever he is selling. So enthusiastic and knowledgeable, good combination for us fans. We are so lucky to have him. "If a duck can pull a truck, hitch him up", I never heard that one. Tebow should wear that shirt.

Being a fan of both, I see some of the same characteristics in their teams. Anybody remember how Cowher run the two minute drill and used his time outs?!?!

First piece of troubling news I have read/heard since coach Bowden was hired: “I didn’t mention a single quarterback because they’ve all been about the same,” Bowden said. “I would have love to have seen one QB stand far above the others, but I think they’ve all been good solid leaders, and none has jumped above the others. We’re going to give them the benefit of the doubt and hopefully they’ll give us the benefit of the doubt, too.”

I'm not sure what you want, how about this answer. I graduated from a mid major school, so I root for mid major schools in the tournament. That's all I got for you.

One thing I can type without doubt, whomever I root for will have zero effect on Akron's success or failure.

Because they are a MAC team, so are we. We will have to take the same path and knock off top seeded teams to win in the tournament. That is what I would like to see us do...in my life time.

I'm rooting for them.
