Great interview!...but I'm guessing coach Bowden has never given a bad one. I'm buying whatever he is selling. So enthusiastic and knowledgeable, good combination for us fans. Being a fan of both, I see some of the same characteristics in their teams. Anybody remember how Cowher run the two minute drill and used his time outs?!?!

First piece of troubling news I have read/heard since coach Bowden was hired: “I didn’t mention a single quarterback because they’ve all been about the same,” Bowden said. “I would have love to have seen one QB stand far above the others, but I think they’ve all been good solid leaders, and none has jumped above the others. We’re going to give them the benefit of the doubt and hopefully they’ll give us the benefit of the doubt, too.”

I'm not sure what you want, how about this answer. I graduated from a mid major school, so I root for mid major schools in the tournament. That's all I got for you.

One thing I can type without doubt, whomever I root for will have zero effect on Akron's success or failure.

Because they are a MAC team, so are we. We will have to take the same path and knock off top seeded teams to win in the tournament. That is what I would like to see us do...in my life time.

Scared of originality? I have to admit, I didn't notice. I did think to myself, for everybody telling how awesome the Consol Energy center was, the floor looked boring! I still have to get to that place, hopefully for a game 7 championship final this year.

I guess it depends on what your satisfied with as a fan. If it's looking at stats that make you feel warm and fuzzy, I guess your happy in your little world. As an alum, my goal is the same as team members and the coach, I want to win games in the NCAA tourney period. I want to be like Ken+, Ohio, VCU, etc... What would an Akron basketball fan say if the day we signed Zeke somebody said, we won't win one game in the NCAA tournament during his career. I would say the staff failed with one of Akron's most talented recruit...stay tuned for next year, it could be a great ride. Like I said before, I circled this year on my calendar three years ago. If I were KD I would coach like I was scared to fall short of our goals next season. I would like to hear KD grab a mic at half time of a football game and scream that he is not going to rest next year until he reaches his goals. Zeke has done his part. I think GP1 brings up a excellent point about our assistants. I think we need some experienced help.

This is one of the greatest days in the college basketball season. Slow? Must not be a fan. Granted, the Zips aren't a part of it, but I'm used to that. I usually get past my jealousy to enjoy 12 hours of college basketball. If the Consol is hosting next year, I might have to do it no matter who is there. Looking forward to this one. I didn't take it that way. I'm guessing that the writer is just putting two and two together. Coach Bowden's ties to the state of Florida and his willingness to mentor some athletes that he believes that are able to be successful despite issues. Hell, we have a guy on the team that did the same thing already...he was our starting QB last year!?!?

Profitable Akron was 20-10 against the spread this season. Going 11-0 ATS at home! If you bet $1 on every game this season, you would have won $10 minus the juice.

Getsy to Hixon was a top ten, and Andre Jones run back at Western Michigan was too. I'm not sure, but was Zeke's block last year in the MCC game one? There are a lot of good plays that get overlooked in ESPN's "top ten."
