Have we reached an all time low? We are now comparing punting statistics with Ken+!?!?
-
In times like these, he needs to turn to JT.
-
Impressive? Nah. I could buy "tolerable" or even maybe even"hopeful", but considering the competition, "impressive" is not the a word I was use to describe any phase of the Zips game I watched on Saturday. ESPECIALLY on those kickoffs. I sure hope Suel's injury is not serious, our passing game is better with him in there IMO.

Some nice predictions in this thread, good job guys.

Hmmmmm, where should I put my money this week?
-
Here is my "beyond statistical judgment" of the day. The passes that I witnessed Saturday that were not close to being catchable were the ones thrown to the sideline. If it was 10 yard comeback, or a 30 yard fly, the results were the same. The catchable balls were thrown to the middle of the field. Price dropped one of those. Next time somebody is at the game watch where LR8 is making his completions. He needs to work hard at being able to spread the field with his completions because if I were creating a defensive scheme against him, it would be on that premise. I would like to see some halfback and wide receiver screens to help him with this too. Where was his best receiver Saturday?

I had 7 knock downs for Moore, but I didn't see every play. Drew Brees has so many positives going for him that make him an exceptional qb. He has great accuracy, a great feel for the game, awesome pocket presence, the ability to read a defense, he can look off defenders, is able to audible into proper plays, and has a big arm. He is not successful because he is small, he is successful despite being small. Can Moore be successful being small...sure. Is his ability that great that he will?
-
That is hard to believe. Did he mention anything about QB knock downs at the line yesterday? I had an unofficial count of 15 between the two teams.

My hats off to the creator, somebody that "gets it." -
I would say, that might be a nice "get" for coach Ianello. Yahoo Sports Article Does St. Hilaire like anybody? “Right now I took a visit out to Akron and really like them,” he said. “I like the school, the facilities and the coaches are great.” With more visits coming, the No. 30 overall prospect in New Jersey broke down what he wants in a college. “I really want great academics, that’s obviously No. 1 for me to be a student athlete,” he said. “I want a family thing and then obviously I’m looking to play early. I may have to redshirt, but I want to find a place where I fit in. I want a great place to play my four years, where I eat and breath football. I personally would love to play wide receiver and kick returner.” St. Hilaire is seeing a big improvement in his game as he heads into the season opener this week.

PN7 has appeared in all three games this year. Here are his stats. 6 completions on 17 attempts for 43 yards. That's a 35% completion for 2.5 yards per catch. No TDs with 1 interception and 3 sacks.

I remember (not to long ago) a previous administration trying to make all the home games festive. They used to have live area bands, giveaways, marching band playing in the lot, cheerleaders, kids events, a visible (mascot) zippy, that big chocolate blow up zippy, beer tents, etc.. I thought they did a pretty good job. Do they have any of that anymore? I don't wander from Lot 9, but other than the same people trying to sell me some useless towel/rag, not much university sponsored stuff goes on. Personally I don't need all of that stuff, but I know most enjoy that kind of atmosphere.

Zips merchandise buy of the week. I went to Akron General to visit a friend in the hospital. I stopped in at the gift shop in the lobby. 'Fear The Roo' stitched 3' x 5' flag marked 75% off ($7.99). There were two left after I bought two.

Big Ten football is boring. When is the last time you looked at the schedule and said "oooo, I gotta see that b10 matchup?"The b10 out of conference schedule is more interesting. Michigan ND was interesting to me, although I didn't get to watch it.

This is the week we find out if LR8 has the potential to lead this team or not. It's been obvious the past three weeks that he has been in over his head and was not ready. He deserves the chance to start this week against the same or weaker competition. With that being said he needs to improve his play dramatically. He needs to start taking care of the ball. Score more points for our team.

Usually in cases like this you might see an injury settlement. Then he would be free of a contract.Has anybody actually ever spoken to Hixon, and think he has any desire to coach? One positive IMO, his resume includes playing offense and defense.

Twinsburg Big Bird has a big display of Columbus garbage. No Zips.I never noticed this before, not that I really pay attention. You know those stupid hotdogs that race around at the Indians game? They announced (last night) that one hotdog was sponsored by UA, one by KSpU, and the other by Case (I think).

Can it come true this week?
-
One, crummy scheduling by the NFL. Two, I feel sorry for the 49'ers. Three, I'm using this information to bet the Eagles in two weeks.
-
Thank you for your analysis. Hard to get that from the radio. I'm looking forward to the day when we can analyze one QB without having to compare him to another QB on our team as a benchmark. IMO, this will cease next season one way or another. I agree with D.I.G, I would like to read more of your post game thoughts. No substitute for being able to evaluate players at the game when you can focus on just them.

Isn't Jason Taylor going to be in town this weekend? Can he come early and give a motivational speech to the players? He is in a similar situation and seems to be able to take responsibility for the actions of the players and not blame a coaching staff.Source"It's us," said Jason Taylor, whose return to Miami after a season each with the Redskins and the Jets has quickly soured. "It's not the coaches. It's not ownership. It's not the fans. It's the players in this room that are doing dumb things and getting in our own way. "If you can't fix them, you've got to replace them. I'm not advocating anybody losing their job, but this is a very serious business, and it needs to be taken seriously, and I'm not sure everyone understands the magnitude of what we're trying to do here. If you can't get it, get out of the way and we'll get somebody else who will."

Free Turnovers at ArbysThe BYU Cougars fumbled the ball six times against the Utah Utes, failing to recover one of them. Recovering just one or two would've been bad luck, but six? The Cougs also threw a pick and conducted whatever this was. That's a lot of turnovers.Via Utes blog Block U, here's a local Arby's offering a free turnover in exchange for a ticket stub from the Holy War game.
