Anybody have the ability to read this? It should take you to a website. Does it work? I believe an iphone, newer ipod touch & other mobile phones with the proper app can read it. NEO Reader

There was one option I thought of putting in and didn't. Get an at large bid. Hasn't happened for the mac in a long time, but early occ wins are a must in order for this to happen. Is there a 5 percent chance of that happening for them?

SI Article by Luke Winn PS This should make Statistical D.I.G happy, all data is from kenpom.com. 1. Terrell Stoglin, PG, Maryland Freshman points per game: 11.4 Percent minutes played in 2010-11: 53.8 Percent of team possessions used: 26.9 Offensive Efficiency Rating: 105.2 2. Deshaun Thomas, SF/PF, Columbus State Freshman points per game: 7.5 Percent minutes played in 2010-11: 34.9 Percent of team possessions used: 27.3 Offensive Efficiency Rating: 115.0 3. Josh Smith, C, UCLA Freshman points per game: 10.9 Percent minutes played in 2010-11: 52.3 Percent of team possessions used: 26.3 Offensive Efficiency Rating: 110.2 4. Javon McCrea, PF, Buffalo Freshman points per game: 11.8 ppg Percent minutes played in 2010-11: 53.5 Percent of team possessions used: 28.5 Offensive Efficiency Rating: 111.1 Following in the footsteps of Faried, McCrea looks like the next undersized, Newark-bred forward who'll make a huge impact in a smaller conference. He didn't turn 18 until Nov. 5 of last year and is just 6-foot-6, but his per-minute numbers in the MAC were amazing. McCrea had an excellent efficiency rating despite his elevated usage, plus ranked fifth nationally in offensive rebound percentage (17.0) and 50th in block percentage (8.5). Had McRea cracked the U.S. Under-19 roster for the FIBA world championships -- he was one of the final cuts from the camp in Colorado Springs -- he wouldn't be so far under the radar heading into his sophomore year. 5. Sean Kilpatrick, SG, Cincinnati Freshman points per game: 9.7 ppg Percent minutes played in 2010-11: 51.2 Percent of team possessions used: 24.2 Offensive Efficiency Rating: 112.4

It would be so much fun to hire another coach and start all over again after two years, so that coach can bring in his new players and new system and struggle through his first two years.

I put Blake down for NCAA tournament vote.

I think you would learn more from watching practice than from this "game".
-
Luckily his dad or coach didn't come to ZN and ask any questions.

That is one vertically challenged team.

Up to 10 people think we are going to win at least one game in the NCAA tournament this year...so far. -
He said freshman phenom Toni Braxton has a chance of starting instead of Tyrone.

As soon as I read "Paul" I immediately stopped reading and disregarded everything before. You can mess up a few things, but to mess up the returning starting QB!?!?

How long does this thing take to load? Looks well produced (the minute I got to watch). What camera are you using?

With all the excitement & optimism throughout the forum after ZN members have got to evaluate the new team at some recent practices, I thought a poll/thread was in order. Fell free to post your predictions or explain your poll choice.

Fifth Day of Preseaon Men's Basketball Practice
Dr Z replied to GoZips's topic in Akron Zips Basketball
I'll take that. What a refreshing change that would be for the fans.....and another MAC title....and an upset win over a Top-25 team. That has to happen sometime, doesn't it? Me too. That's what gets me to more games, getting the ball quickly down the floor and into an offense, fast breaks, scoring points. THAT's what I want to see. I've walked out of the JAR when the Zips have won 59-58 and I felt like I lost. If I'm going to watch our PG turn around at half court and dribble the ball backwards to the three point line every trip down the floor, I would rather sort my socks at home and listen on the radio. -

I really appreciate your practice updates that you give. I wouldn't get them anywhere else. But as the wise Mr Iverson once said "what are we talkin bout here ya'll, practice?... not a game, practice!?!" One of my favorite parts of last year was watching Q progress and eventually turn into a guy that Dambrot was calling clear outs for at the end of halves in the MAC tournament!?! I did see Q's potential early in the season, so maybe you are seeing the same potential in all the new guys. If there are four more guys that are going to contribute Q's kind of effort to this up and coming team/season, I'll be very surprised. Until I see these guys perform in a game time situation I'm going to be a little hesitant to start "crowning their a$$es". I'll be happy if KD can knock off a big OCC opponent. That will make me even more excited for March. -
Akron September opponent's coach in hot water?

Double Secret Probation According to multiple sources, the NCAA notified Columbus State by letter last week that it is still investigating other issues involving the football program. The result could be a second notice of allegations and a second trip through the NCAA justice system. -

I wish you were a Zips fan Districtballer. I enjoy reading your posts. Can we put together some kind of trade? Is the name BuckRam taken on your forum? -

I always liked this one too. Simple double entendre. -
I would agree that it would be stupid to do so every day. I know an NFL team that ends each week with the GL drill. Not one injury to my knowledge in my lifetime.

Fifth Day of Preseaon Men's Basketball Practice

EA from the PD writes this about the team The rest of Akron's 2011-2012 team is preparing for a five-game trip to Canada, beginning Wednesday. Practices began Aug. 1. So far, the play of both 6-7 Nick Harney from Benedictine and 6-7 Demetrius Treadwell from Euclid has drawn raves, as this Akron team starts to look like Dambrot's more athletic teams when he was head coach at Central Michigan and Ashland. "No question we are going to be a much, much better rebounding team with those two,'' assistant Dan Peters said after a recent workout. We don't have the sure first-round draft pick. Other than that, this is the kind of roster we always had at Cincinnati.'' Peters was a longtime assistant to Bob Huggins when the now-West Virginia head coach was at Cincinnati. -
Article was posted/buried 12 hours earlier in this thread also. Video 5 also address some of the same that was written in the article (also in the included thread). Johnny noticed the confidence that iCoach was exhibiting in the video, I have to say he does almost seem happy/excited.
