  1. From what I can gather, the 3-3-5 isn't going anywhere. Tonga is going to play the Rover position. That way they don't have to change the name of the scheme. Everybody wins.Hans Christian Andersen is calling it 'The Emperor's New Scheme.'
  2. Not too many people use Firefox though.

  8. JD, when you first come to Akron you stated that it was hard to recruit defensive lineman. This year you recruited a four star and three star defensive lineman, how has this task gotten easier for you? With the obvious upgrade on the defensive line has your defensive philosophy shifted?KD, will you do anything this year that you haven't done in the past to prepare your team for the MAC tourney?
  9. Doesn't seem like a very good comparison:Plunkett (15 years) QB rating 67 : TD/INT 164-198 with 25,000 yardsBig Ben (5 years) QB rating 89 : TD/INT 101-69 with 15,000 yardsWith at least eight years left in Pitt, I would guess only an injury would keep Ben from surpassing Plunkett's modest numbers.I think most people believe he has the ability to be in the HOF due to the organization he plays for, and his youth.PS Plunkett is the only retired quarterback to start, and win, two Super Bowls not in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.In the case of quarterbacks, more than one ring - Bart Starr, Terry Bradshaw, Roger Staubach, Troy Aikman, John Elway, Bob Griese and Joe Montana - has usually meant a summer trip to Canton, Ohio.
  10. Stop teasing me QZ! Is it to early to start my "Hollywood Henderson" graphic???You guys are funny being concerned about what Can't football.
  11. Won the NFL's National Pass, Punt and Kick Competition for 14 & 15 year olds.?
  12. You can vote if Harrison should have been ejected (note this is a Cardinal fan site)Can't read, can't write, can't get slow mo :lol:No mercy on drunkin fans either
  13. I'm interested in watching the replay of the game on Wednesday night. NFL Replay is probably one of the greatest things on tv for fans of the NFL.Listening to NFL Sirius Radio, Pat Kerwin is saying that James might have got hit in the crotch to create the reaction that he had. Pat was on the forty yard line at the time. Here is the punch to the back of his shoulder pad, looks like the flags actually come in from the big push to the chest after the punch.
  14. Since sportswriters decide who goes in or not and not ZipsNation posters (which I think is bull). Here is one:Two Time Champion Clutch Enough For Canton? So we leave Super Bowl XLIII just as we entered it -- talking about a Hall of Fame quarterback waiting to happen.Only it's not Kurt Warner. It's Ben Roethlisberger. With Pittsburgh's 27-23 last-minute defeat of never-say-die Arizona on Sunday, Roethlisberger enters a conversation once considered unimaginable. Yep, I'm talking about Canton, and here's why: In just five years he has been to four playoffs, three conference championship games and two Super Bowls. And that's what I love about this guy. He doesn't produce fantasy-football numbers; he just wins, as in 73 percent of his games and eight of 10 playoff appearances. Plus, there is this: He's at his best when his best is needed most.
  15. What is your point, he committed a penalty and got penalized? Cheated? Cheating is when coaches are stealing signs from the other team, not when somebody "punches" someone. If he did get a fine and suspension how does that change anything?
  16. That's a hard question being that these guys are the ones voting.Isn't it odd that one of his first "magical" moments comes against our Zips?!?
  17. In an attempt to make this a Zips related thread. I think it was the 2000 game at Ken+. One of the coldest games I have ever attended. The game the Dwight Smith was amazing.I happened to be walking into the stadium as Ken+ was coming out of the locker room.Every Ken+ player looked like they didn't want to be there, walking like zombies on to the field.Except for one guy, he was shot out of a cannon, jumping up and down, yelling and whooping it up.Pure energy. I looked at my friend and said I don't know who that Harrison guy is but I think I wouldput a few blockers on him until he tires out. He'll go down in the history of the Super Bowl as making one of the greatest plays, and then ruining his chance as a SB MVP by getting caught punching an opposing player. I wish the Zips had three of him on our defense.
  18. Once a Beacon Journal writer, always a Beacon Journal writer. Game begins @ noon, TP.He lists Zeke at 6'11" too. I think we should list Zeke at 6'6" in the media guide to fool other teams.
  19. Yes, Torrence. I was just answering the request of; "offered by OSU and enrolled at Akron"
  20. Here are two more for you:Bain was a US Army All-American in 2004 and was offered a scholarship by Ohio StAndrew Johnson was offered and hotly pursued by many big-name schools in the country, including Ohio StMy unofficial list is at three without really trying.Wasn't there something about Da'Von Moore being offered a scholarship by OSU and then pulled?
  21. I'm not interested in making a list for you, but I'll start it with this one
  22. I know a few posters expressed their concern about KD's decision. Not to persuade your vote, but here is a quote from KD:"I've been telling you all along that McClanahan is a weapon for us, I'm just glad we de-redshirted him."Feel free to explain your vote. Here are his stats if you need help. He is averaging 11.6 mins, 3.6 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 5 games thus far.Career high 9 points last night
  23. NCAAs or bust. I have no interest in anything else. It's called the Big dance for a reason. All you have to do is win the MAC tourney. How hard is that?
  24. The Big 33 Classic has had at least one of its former players in every Super Bowl, and the Pennsylvania-based all-star game is well represented in the NFL's crowning event this year as well. Here is a look at the players, coaches and front-office personnel on the Steelers and Cardinals who played in the Big 33.SteelersQB, Ben Roethlisberger, Ohio, 2000TE/FB, Sean McHugh, Ohio, 2000DT, Scott Paxson, Pennsylvania, 2001S, *Ryan Mundy, Pennsylvania, 2003Pro scouting coordinator, Doug Whaley, Pennsylvania, 1990*-Member of Steelers practice squadCardinalsLB, Victor Hobson, Pennsylvania, 1998WR, Steve Breaston, Pennsylvania, 2002Assistant head coach/offensive line, Russ Grimm, Pennsylvania, 1977Defensive backs coach, Teryl Austin, Pennsylvania, 1983Director of player personnel, Steve Keim, Pennsylvania, 1991Source and the rest of the story
