See what Mike Waddell is saying about the situation

Did you hear Frenchy (I love when KD calls him that) ask that question to KD in the post game Saturday?I uninstalled my car radio and carried a car battery in my back pack with an old set of speakers tied to my waist so I could listen to the post game show Saturday on the trip back to my car. Really worked good.Anyway KD said exactly what you stated, then he said "but I know me, I get so competitive I just don't like to lose"Kind of a funny comment, but very telling.

Solomon Wilcots: "Having Charlie Frye would you draft a QB with the 3rd pick"Romeo Crennel: "We believe in competition and if there is a franchise QB available we're going to have to look at that"SW: "What mindset will you be in when you draft at the third spot in the draft"RC: "We will do whatever is best for the team in the long term"SW: "How did Frye improve last year"RC: "He was able to see down the field more, the game slowed down for him. Charlie's problem was too many turnovers"SW: "Going into camp, is it a wide open competition for QB"RC: "Right now Charlie has a leg up"SW" Do you think you need a veteran behind Charlie"RC: "I would like that, we are looking at FA right now, if it fits, we will pursue"SW "I hear Brady Quinn is touting himself to be a Brown, why do you think he wants to play for the Browns"RC: "Because he thinks he can come in here and play right away"SW: "You have another new offensive coordinator, what does that mean"RC: "Our QB needs to learn new terminology"(I kept this to Charlie based questions, but it was a great interview if you were a Browns fan.Sirius is interviewing a bunch of coaches, owners and GMs today since they are all there for the combine. If you are a fan of the NFL and can't listen to this, you are really missing out. The month leading up to the draft is the best time to listen)

Retire the Jerseys? Dru and Rome in the Rafters?
Dr Z replied to Captain Kangaroo's topic in Akron Zips Basketball
Akron's Ryan Andrick puts the power into power forward during the Zips' 74-68 win over Ball Stateyesterday at Rhodes Arena. Andrick, who reacts to a basket and a foul late in the game, scored 25 points.Springfield coach in his fourth season -
There is nothing wrong with using LeBron to promote. I think they should have done MORE of this. How about a billboard with with Dru, Romeo (in Akron Uni) and KD with LBJ in the background?'Bringing the Show to the JAR This Year' (with the home schedule.)Or course this is too late. I am VERY disappointed in the marketing this year.Remember Lebron has been to many home games in support of Romeo and Dru.Nothing will take away from the standing O that Dru and Romeo will get at halftime.

Akron quarterback Luke Getsy said that he probably never would have a received an invitation to the combine without the success of Mid-American Conference quarterbacks who preceded him. “It’s opened so many doors,“ Getsy said. He said he prepared for the combine experience two years ago when Charlie Frye was going through it. “I was able to learn a lot asking him questions about the process. Charlie’s a big influence in my life,“ Getsy said. source

4) Buy from the guy outside the JAR

Jackass guys were jumping off a bridge in Miami, JT was just watching. Very short piece.JT will be back with the Dolphins for another year.So I'm not totally hijacking this thread, here is the combine schedule. Here is a combine blogAlso if anybody has Sirius, this is a GREAT time to listen to the NFL Station (124)I can almost bet money somebody like Alleman or Getsy gets interviewed in the next week.

The University of Cincinnati is investigating allegations that current football players and recruits engaged in sex acts with a former soccer player during a recruiting visit, according to published reports.UC spokesman Greg Hand said on Tuesday that the university is "conducting an investigation."The allegations reportedly came from an anonymous letter dated Feb. 14 that was sent to UC president Nancy Zimpher, Daniel Cummins, the director of judicial affairs, and Barbara Rinto, the director of the UC Women's Center. The note was signed, "A Concerned Athletic Department Employee" according to the reports. The Cincinnati Post reported that according to the letter, there were four University of Cincinnati football players and four football recruits allegedly involved in the incident. The Cincinnati Enquirer reported that the letter said the sex acts took place during a party at which alcohol was served, the sex acts were videotaped and the tapes have been circulated in UC dormitories."I've been in a college environment long enough to know that any kind of allegations need to be thoroughly looked at," football coach Brian Kelly said about the reports. "Everything that I heard should be taken seriously and should be handled by the appropriate people."In 2004, the NCAA passed emergency legislation after the widely-publicized allegations of parties involving sex and alcohol for football recruits at the University of Colorado. The new NCAA rules required schools prohibit the use of alcohol and sex as enticements in recruiting. If the allegations are true, Hand said, it would be a violation of the university code of conduct as well as a likely violation of residence hall regulations and athletic department on-campus recruiting visit rules. At this point, there are no allegations of criminal conduct."We just don't know what we have," Hand said. "The facts are that there are anonymous allegations and we're trying to find answers."source (espn)more (fox)the enquirer

If you hit "My Controls" at the top of the page in the blue bar.On the left hand side you will see "edit signature"Use the (IMG) button to add your photo to your signature. The photo has to appear on a http page somewhere.Hint: keep the photo small, as it is annoying to page down somebodies HUGE signature photo.Good luck

I don't see him listed with Akron???But I do see him listed with Florida Atlanticfor the most up to date info check the Zips Nation recruiting section.

Good move. Igor's back concerns me.
-
I personally like it at the Bowl. You can see better and it stinks to waste a nice day inside like the last two years.Too crowded at the fieldhouse. Only way they should have it inside is if extended forecast is crummy.
-
Hope they don't get out of hand again.
-
I like when he appears on 'Jackass Number Two'I was more shocked to see JT in the movie than any stunts they did !
-
I happen to watch some of the Duquesne / Fordham game yesterday on fox sports ohio.I did not come away impressed with the Dukes. Akron is a much better team IMO.Slow zone defense. Zips should be aware that the center can shoot threes.
-
One part of Akron's game that worries me is getting pressed in the back court and turning the ball over. They have done a very poor job of that this year IMHO. Peay guys, does your team press well?
-
I think we all hope that. MAC refs are terrible. Here is a fine example for you
-
Nice posts Peaynation. I have enjoyed learning about your team through your posts.Stop back here to zipsnation after the game. Always good to hear the "other side's" perspective.Hey, you should be able to place a nice bet on the money line if your final comes in. Hope your a betting man. Anybody want to guess what the spread is going to be? I'm guessing the money line is +350.
-
I don't see how that happened? That slanted "A" is PURE genius I even saw it in the graphic design HOF.
-
Not signed, no school considered, grades at a 40
