  2. My thoughts exactly ZFF Here are the top 50 defenses from last year (Akron was 44)
  3. I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but I'll ask JD that question on Monday (if I remember).Until then, can you name 3 successful Defenses in Division I that run the 3-4?
  4. Looks like a two year deal now
  5. I love the 3-4, but JD seems sold on playing his defense. Many topics on the subject, just search "3-3-5"Example 1Example 2Example 3
  6. Isn't Frye an FA after this year? He should be able to sign into a better situation.I'm sure he knows that. BQ not showing up for camp just puts BQ behind and gives Frye more starts toplay for a contract for another team next year.
  7. More on the contract talks
  8. Is Romeo wearing a tie?
  9. Quinn may hold out of Browns' campPosted: Sunday June 03, 2007 12:19PM ETBrowns insiders say there's a good chance agent Tom Condon will hold out Brady Quinn once training camp starts. The Browns, despite trading up to make Quinn their second first-round pick, don't really want the rookie quarterback playing early in his rookie season. Browns coaches would like to see Charlie Frye maintain the job. So far, the Browns and Condon have not done much talking.FanNation's Truth & Rumors

  11. Good luck I always wanted to see him get a little PT.
  12. You beat me to it ZFF. Here is a link to a story on him
  13. Thanks for the link, but seeing the Miami basketball link on the 'related' links just gave me a shooting pain down my side.
  14. Nice job Cap.
  15. Andra Davis was being interviewed on 'Moving the Chains' yesterday on Sirius. He said Frye was looking much sharper than any other QB in the OTA's.
  16. Frye confident he will be the starter
  17. My condolences to the Bodis family.Reading my Alumni magazine this morning I noticed Porky of Porky's Place died March 4. He was 87.
  18. Quote of the Week II"I want to go on record. Charlie [Frye] is our guy. With our new offensive system, Charlie could be looking at a big year.''-- Cleveland wide receiver Braylon Edwards.Romeo Crennel and Phil Savage will be surprised to hear that, after spending next year's first-round pick and this year's second-rounder on Brady Quinn.Source: MMQB Peter King

  21. Would anybody be happy/comfortable with the current administration hiring a new football coach? (for whatever reason)
  22. I agree, He hasn't done that much really.Without mentioning LO & PW (we been down that road about a jillion times),who do you think would being doing a better job at Akron than JD? Just curious. Before you answer, ask yourself if this person would coach at AKRON under the same conditions. Then tell me how much you are going to pay this coach (is it in Akron's budget). Then tell me if you think the program was better off before JD or after JD (for the love of god don't mention LO)What do you think JD's goals were when he came to Akron in the years that he has been here?Do you think he has met his goals? Fell short? Exceeded? If you are not happy with JD, I would be interestedin reading what exactly you expected from him and where he is falling short. I was thinking the same thing when I was reading some posts in this thread, but I think you put it in perspective very well. I'd like to hear some well-thought out responses to your questions.Might be asking too much. Seems like the majority that have a problem with JD are just local LO fans.
  23. Seems like a good benchmark. Did Urban win the MAC when he was at BG?In 2001 Urban was 5-3 in the MAC tied for 2nd. In 2002 he was 6-2 in the MAC finished 3rd.JD's first two years at Akron in comparisonIn 2004 he was 6-2 in the MAC and finished 2ndIn 2005 he was 5-3 in the MAC and won a MAC Championship and went to a bowl game.
