  1. If the Brookhart/Rhoades combination can remain intact for a few years, the Zips should remain contenders in the MAC with what might be a growing fan base. That's especially true, if the Zips do find a way to get a new stadium built.Rhoades said a six-month study is in progress, and they hope to find a site on or near the campus by the spring. They are talking about a stadium of at least 25,000 seats with 20 suites and 400 club suites. The cost? About $50 million.Bluto from todays BJ
  2. That is the pass I have been waiting to see. I agree, that gets me excited for next year.Hope to see another big lead at home so we can see CJ again this year. That seems to be the only way he is getting in.PS Getsy had a great game. Plus the offensive line protected well.
  3. That is because he takes less pay to divide it up with his assistants. His assistants make quite a bit of money. Also, with his radio show and different commercials he does, he is doing quite well.Don't forget about all the money he made from the Youngstown mafia
  4. Bill Williamson, of the Denver Post, reports Denver Broncos WR Domenik Hixon (foot) is expected to return to practice Wednesday, Nov. 8, after coming off the non-football injury list Tuesday, Nov. 7.
  5. Good to hear, thanks for the scoop.
  6. Anybody have a guess to why CJ got no action?I talked to Luke after the game and asked, he said he had no idea about CJ playing.
  7. True story: Jason shows up at a Zips home game and sits down in the section next to us with his to be wife at the time.My brother is a HUGE Dolphins fan and wasn't at the game. The only thing I had with me was a popcorn box.I tear the popcorn box open and use one of the flaps to get an autograph. I sit down next to him and shake his hand (one of the biggest hands I have ever shook) and tell him what a big fan I was and how my brother was a Zips and Dolphins fan. I further explain that he is going to be ticked that the one game he misses JT shows up. I asked Jason to sign, "Dear (my brothers name), you should have been here, Jason Taylor"I go back to my seat and look at the popcorn box, it reads "should been there, JT" Super nice guy to a pain in the butt fan though.I would hope that when he retires he is given the ROYAL treatment at Akron.Second long winded JT story. I'll always remember the 97 draft when the Dolphins took JT in the third.I was convinced the Steelers were going to take him being from the area and I thought he fit there 3-4 scheme well. The Steelers had two low third round picks and I was sure they would take him with the 82nd or 91st pick.Maybe the Dolphins thought the same thing and grabbed him with the 73rd.I met Cowher four months after that draft when he was signing autographs for fans and asked him if he thought of taking JT.He stopped signing, looked up at me, gave a pause, and said "yeah...we thought about it", looked down and continued to sign. Maybe you had to be there, but it was funny.Check out some of the names drafted before JT that year
  8. I remembered reading your comment when I was watching the game last night.Did you notice how many WV players were on the line of scrimmage during predicted running plays?
  9. Here is my rumor of the day. I don't believe it, but I'll throw it out there.John L Smith gets canned from MSU. Who is one of the prospects being talked about to replace him?Mark Dantonio, head coach at the University of Cincinnati. Who would show up on Cincinnati's list if Dantonio left for MSU?Long chain of events to happen though.
  10. I'm not sure why everybody thinks it has to be one or the other. Why can't they co-exist in a game plan the way Tebow does in Florida. Is it all possible that CJ playing actually may make the pocket better for Getsy thus making him better?
  11. ".... so Casey can you please send out a long distance dedication to Mr Jones""Well Dr Z, this one goes out to all those Zip fans that are feeling a little down this year.To Andre and his Mom I say, keep reaching for the stars"long distance dedication
  12. Brookhart said he plans to use redshirt freshman backup quarterback Carlton Jackson more. Brookhart wanted to get Jackson, 6-foot-2, 195 pounds, from Pompano Beach, Fla., more action against Toledo, but that plan didn't work out.``I'd like to get Carlton in a series a half (this week),'' Brookhart said. ``He's impatient but he's getting better about it.''
  13. Good point. Where is it written in stone that we have to play that defense on every down or in every game? Can't we look at film and say "hey this team has a very weak passing game, maybe this game we play the 4-3 and get some more big guys in there" Maybe we can adjust at half time and switch defenses, or a few series to seehow the offense reacts. I know I'm in the minority, but I thought our defense played bad last week.I know the stats and score looked great, but I saw too many bad defense plays.
  14. Organization fails Frye
  15. That's EASY, hire Tiny Kiss to play at the tailgate party!...and hot tubs with 'Fear the Roo Girls'
  16. Yes, winning your first MAC championship in school HISTORY is a great year.Yes, going to your first division I bowl game in school HISTORY is a great year.Win and put a new stadium on campus and people will come.I'm not sure what the debate is, the stadium is going to come no matter what you or I type.
  17. Fight the good fight Don!
  18. In classic Cleveland fashion:Browns' Carthon out; Crennel says he wasn't firedESPN.com news servicesBEREA, Ohio -- Maurice Carthon resigned as Cleveland's offensive coordinator Tuesday, two days after the Browns' NFL-worst offense scored seven points in a loss to Denver.Carthon, whose head-scratching play calls and personnel moves angered fans and puzzled players, was in his second year running the offense.Despite having two weeks to devise a game plan, the Browns (1-5) picked up only 165 total yards in losing 17-7 to the Broncos and are ranked at or near the bottom of the league in most offensive categories.Browns coach Romeo Crennel said Carthon came into his office Monday and offered his resignation. The pair talked and after their discussion, Crennel decided to accept it from his close friend for the "good of the organization and the fans."stay tuned for more...
  19. Stop me when I heard this story before. Insert Couch for Frye and Arians for Carthon. Sounds like a good KNR subject for hours of uninformative radio.
  20. Z-P, I love those. I can never read enough of those. #26 now needs some minor editing (real Yunzers know what I mean)
  21. Just another good reason to buy the Post when I'm in the city.
  22. Kind of reminds you of some threads last year when some gave up doesn't it?NOTHING would be better than Can't blowing this.
  23. That was kind of my reaction (minus the Ben comment).Rodgers???? I hope Green Bay NEVER wins a game with him.Green Bay could have drafted Frye and been set, so could have Miami.Instead Charlie got screwed.
  24. Click here to see where or if Sports Illustrated ranks Charlie FryeFrye's stats
