What is this show? Local access? 45/49? Never heard of this .... UA related or no? I used to watch it when I lived in Akron. I havn't watched it in 4 years. It shows on this station, only site I could find on the web I believe it is on Mondays around 6. It is NOT university hosted. Just takes calls on sports. Anybody can call in. It's not real hard to get on, so you can ask any Akron sports question you want. He will give you a good answer. It is worth your time. I think it was called sportsbeat?

Boo to Fox Sports for still using our old logo. Get with the times Fox. I HATE seeing that crappy "A" Same boo goes to the broadcasters of the basketball game in Cal that used the "A" FEAR THE ROO ! PS Any fan that still has any Akron stuff on it with the "A", THROW IT AWAY MAN. Feel free to email Fox, I did at Fox Feedback

I believe I remember reading about a year ago that Dolan wanted to model it after the YES network

I tried to Tivo the game at 3 AM on Friday when they replayed the NIU / Akron game since I went to Detroit. Something must have ran over, because the game didn't start until 15 minutes into my recording. When I did get to watch it there were parts where they said "due to time constraints we move forward" Time constraints? Who the F is watching at 3 AM that doesn't have time to waste? Anyway as soon as the 4th quarter starts, my recording stops, so I miss the best part. If anybody has a dvd copy of this game and is willing to mail it to me, please PM me. I will compensate you for your time and media. Did anybody notice this year

UAM should get a copy of that and play it on the big screen before the basketball game. I would guess that would invoke a standing ovation. PS I realize the rights issues.

You can debate this topic until the cows come home. Anthing that I type would just be an opinion. If you want to truly know the answer to this question, ask a player on the team that has played for both coaches. Even ask the parents of a player that has played for both coaches. They have definite opinions on the matter. I have heard from both.

I saw Mike standing on the sideline on Thursday.

Just getting back from Detroit and still pumped up. I would like to try to convience those of you that were not able to make it to the Mac championship game to go to the Bowl game on the 26th. Ford Field was MUCH nicer than expected. I'm not a huge dome fan but I have to say, that field is AWESOME. Very well designed and a great place to watch a football game. Especially when your team wins. It's a great time of year to watch a game inside the dome. Anybody that was at the Thanksgiving day game will appreciate the comfort level that Ford Field has to offer (PS this is NOT a push for a dome at Akron) UAM did a GREAT job with the alumni party before the game. The cheerleaders cheering everybody as you walk in was a "touch of class" Made you feel wanted and got you pumped up if you weren't already. Getting to meet a few new faces from the board and a few who say the read but don't post was nice. It always nice to see zipsnation out and about. Getting to meet ex players and players parents gives you a great feeling that you know you are rooting for a bunch of class guys down on the field. One parent told me to look for good things from the O line last night. You were right. Great call. What a great time. You guys can help me out describing your bus ride and your hotel experience. I stayed at the Mariot and had a great time. Chime in if you were there and let everybody know what a great time we had. So get off your duff's and get your tickets to OUR FIRST BOWL GAME !!!! (man is that fun to type out) I'd also like to thank all the players and coaches for all your hard work. You made yesterday UNFORGETABLE. You are all truly WINNERS. One more baby!

400 yards and 5 Tds against the MAC West Champs wasn't impressive?

As the season started many wondered if Luke could fill, or even come close to filling Charlie's shoes. He was up against a lot, new offensive line, new receivers and he had to prove he could shake off the rust from sitting. Well the regular season has come to an end and I think it's time to look at a comparison. I think only the Thanksgiving day winds kept Luke from getting those 37 yards he needed to pass Frye's passing yards. Two more games Luke !
-
I don't see them finishing with any more than 6 wins. I think they HAVE to start Frye at least two games before the end of the season. They have to see what they think they have in him. I'm sure Romeo would like to start him later rather than sooner though (@ OAK). They are 35 mill under the salary cap at the end of this year, so if Frye doesn't perform, or at least show the potential to perform, look for them to go QB hunting again in the FA market.

Wednesday, November 30, 2005 1:00 p.m Tony Grossi Plain Dealer Reporter The long-anticipated debut of Charlie Frye as Browns starting quarterback might happen on Sunday. Coach Romeo Crennel said tendinitis in Trent Dilfer's right knee would keep him out of Wednesday's practice, enabling Frye to take all the repetitions with the first team. Crennel said it's possible Dilfer could still make the start if he gets back on the field by Friday. Dilfer said he would do all he could to prepare to play, but he indicated the knee hurts worse than from tendinitis. Frye said he is looking forward to working through the week for his first start. He played only one snap in the loss in Minnesota and was removed after an interception. source

Nice post DA. BTW, to the fans that took the time to spell out "Go Zips" & "Mac East Champs" in the snow on Thursday: PS A part of this can be seen in the photo of the Andys above.

Don't get mad, get rich, click on football on the left hand side of the page? You can get $5.25 for ever $1 bet. Bet 10, get 52.50, Bet 20, get 105 and so on... Best investment opportunity of your life if you think the Zips will win.
-
If your lucky, you might get on channel 27's news if there is a drive by also.

I hope so. Owens went to ZERO mac championship games in how many years? JD got there in how many? I'm glad he is doing well at Ashland. I'm glad JD is here.

If we win, we derserve to go to a bowl game, If we don't win, we do NOT deserve to be in a bowl game. That would be exactly what we get for losing to Army. Beat NIU AGAIN and don't worry about it. Zips D Wolfe

I think we stand a small chance

8k in attendance is a huge success? Getting your game downgraded to ESPNU a huge success. Yeah it's great you got some exposure but I doubt anyone watched the game Thursday morning. I have to agree with the crowd. I was suprised to see so many fans brave that weather. You would have to be there to understand. Watching the highlights on ESPN did NOT do it justice. Did anyone else notice we made the top ten? Between the weather and the crappy opponent I would say it was a success. I know one thing, it will be a lot warmer at Ford Field

Balanced Zips a real title threat

Great Plains Sports picks Can't State @ UA game
Dr Z replied to IBleedMACGreen's topic in Akron Zips Football
don't waste your time clicking on this, this is all it says. My favorite line is "Akron plays pretty well in the Rubber Bowl" Oooooooooo Can't is a terrible team this season who has won zero games against D-IA competition this year. Akron is not a great team either, but they play pretty well in the Rubber Bowl. I doubt that Can't will have what it takes to win this one, despite the rivalry between the two. I like the Zips at home in this one. Akron 28, Can't 10 -
About time that Wolfe (204 yards and counting) pulls a hammy, nothing too serious, to be ready, say about Dec 2.
-
Follow along with Gamecast, for those of you that can't see it on TV
-
That would make us 6-6, my guess is no. I think they have to take the winner of the Mac championship game, but not the loser. They could take BG at 6-5.

Wolfe Riley NIU favored by 9.5, if you bet WM straight up, you can get 4:1 odds right now
