  2. Hey I posted a nice polite topic in the MEAC smack talk forum. I figured I'd leave the smack to drealscout and the rest of you superb trash talkers. They've already resorted to poking fun at a zip. Let's get these bears a little riled up. Here's the link to the discussion:http://community.meacfans.com/eve/forums/a...881/m/641109404
  3. Here's some info posted about the lights.
  4. Yeah, that's what I thought, too. Can we see less commercials with Doc Proenza holding balls in his hands and more like that one? Great shots of campus and of the stadium/history. All of which can conveniently be found using google images!
  5. http://www.ohiofridaynightlights.com/compo...out-being-a-zipPretty good article on D'Orazio. A few errors, but it portrays UA in a positive light.
  6. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports...on/6555870.htmlA leading candidate to replace Robinson could be Hunter Yurachek, the acting athletic director at the University of Akron. Yurachek is a candidate to succeed Rhoades at Akron but could become available if somebody else gets job. As the No. 2 man at Akron, Yurachek had a close relationship with Rhoades."I can't say enough great things about him," Yurachek said the day UH announced it had hired Rhoades. "I've been in this profession for 17 years. I've worked at Wake Forest, Vanderbilt and the University of Virginia. And he may be the best individual I've ever worked with."
  7. Who are the people actually paying money to view rivals' forums and stories? Are most of them actual coaches/scouts? Otherwise, they're either crazy or have way too much money.
  8. Yes, damn those Adrian college bulldogs. Damn them right to hell.
  9. Please. Leave that hate for Michigan to the suckeye fans. I'd never root for anyone over Akron, but I don't hate Michigan anymore than any of the other Big 11 teams(except OSWHO, of course).

  11. Hm, apparently you are ignorant to the screaming masses of the uneducated fools who consider themselves Buckeye 'fans'. Live in Ohio for about a decade...you'll quickly realize what I'm talking about. Sorry if the term "Buckeye country" made me sound like one of them. I can assure you, I'd rather root for Michigan(just out of spite).
  12. Can't wait to read all the positive comments from the normal Ohio.com gang.
  13. Back in my hometown near Ashtabula, OH(almost Pennsylvania) there are tons or Akron blankets being sold at the local Wall Marts and one of the hardware stores. It's spreading, my friends. Buckeye country is officially being invaded.
  14. Yeah 3 stars and offers from such Division 1 power houses like Western Carolina, Liberty, and North Carolina Central. That's why I question rivals ranking systems. If you ask me he should have just gone with the only other offer had that was worth a lick, Buffalo. Can't State's academics(or lack therof) will only hold him back in the long run.
  15. Erick Howard scored a 23 ACT in June.Honestly. I think his GPA is hurting him more than his ACT. He now has an overall of a 20 ACT. Not so hot, but I've known kids with ACT scores only a few points higher than that who got into OSU for academics no problem.
  16. Friday, July 24. The annual rip on 'kid day.
  17. Let's be honest here. The kid turned down offers from three other BCS schools. Do you really think they just toss offers out to guys solely because of their speed? There's no question, this is another big time commitment.
  18. Haha, I had the same exact thoughts(as witnessed by the comment I just posted on the article).
  19. I've gotten postcard sized ads in the mail on three different occasions. Each of them has the renderings of the stadium in the background and lists a few of the season ticket packages. My family plans on going to a game or two, but we don't understand why they're sending them to us. No one in my family is from Akron, so the 'family pack' of season tickets wouldn't even apply to us. Wouldn't the University be better off sending these things to people around greater Akron rather than to a bunch of students who likely(hopefully ) already know about the stadium?

  21. I agree with everyone who commented. I think zen sums it up best. Graham Watson had an intended slant and she used the facts that best backed that up. There's a line between slanting data and journalistic irresponsibility. Whether or not she crossed that line is subjective to each reader.
  22. There's new countdown to the opener on UA's homepage. 'Bout time.
  23. Although I agree wholeheartedly, it probably won't happen. They have plans to remodel the interior of Bierce, which I think is stupid. By the time CH is free game, couldn't we get the money for a new library? Bierce is eh..
  24. http://www.ohio.com/sports/50805542.html''I had a chance to go through it the other day. It's fantastic,'' Brookhart said. ''The turf is beautiful, the stands are almost done. There are some internal things to do, but that's to be expected. Our plans are to practice there on Aug. 6.''Live practice feed online. That's what I'm talking about.
  25. True. The need for a sports apparel shop in the stadium is evident. I think you guys are worrying over nothing though. I'd be very surprised if the university didn't go above and beyond expectations on the stadium team shop. That's a HUGE opportunity to make a lot of money. I'd be surprised if that were to change with a new team shop. You said it yourself, there will be an increase in demand for zips products. You know what that does to price...
