Candidates to Replace Rob Ianello

How about the head coach for Gardner Webb? He knows how to get a terrible team to win in Infocision Stadium. -
Will the Soccer Team Outscore the Football Team?
tpsjugglerdude replied to Captain Kangaroo's topic in Akron Zips Football
But the soccer team IS playing BG. Last year we scored 6 in the first HALF. then they put the Rowdies in and some guy in a wheelchair to finish the game. -
On Big Soccer there are ACC fans wishing AKRON would join the ACC for soccer. First time I've heard this on the internet on websites not named Zipsnation. I love on Nagbe's goal you can see the UNC defender pulling on his jersey hardcore. And I love after that goal the interaction with the UNC fans.

Soccer vs Wake Forest game thread

I believe it was Hartwick in last year's MAC Championship game. -
The picture was taken and posted the first day it was up. Ironically it was when the media circus was outside the JAR. It should be permanent because it will start growing and become fuller.
-
Anybody else see this in front of the JAR? You might have missed it due to all the media vans. lol

Another staple of University Park closes

When Chipotle asked if they would like to open a branch inside SU they said no because it was too close their other stores and it would hurt the others profits. If they took zipcard on campus and were open till 11 (when SU closes) they would make a killing. -
run with the guards? Why does he need to do that? Have you watched our offense. We walk up the floor.

Digging has begun!
tpsjugglerdude replied to tpsjugglerdude's topic in Akron Zips NCAA Championship Soccer
A little bird told me, new stands will be constructed prior to this season. What that entails, I'm not sure. Little bird may have more to share. Will keep my head covered. --edit-- Nevah mind!!! yeah the old stands are going on top of the hill in the end zone and the new ones will be put in soon with the new pressbox. -

2009 Soccer Attendance
tpsjugglerdude replied to ksu sucks's topic in Akron Zips NCAA Championship Soccer
This says that in 13 games we had 27,787 in attendance. I bet that is more than the first 13 home games for basketball. -
So it's finally happening

The doors really aren't locked, it's said that for a week but they dont actually lock the doors. Btw, a few hours ago I was playing a few pickup games in Memorial and Quincy Diggs came in and shot around for a while. Looks like he has a nice shot and a decent wingspan for his size. He was a little shy but very friendly as well. I know a few other ZN.o members were there playing and say him there too. Yep, I saw him there too. He said it's cold up here(wait til winter). A pick-up player told him he should go to Akron when he was shooting around at a different hoop(Diggs was wearing a Wichita State shirt), and Diggs says he does and he transferred. He's got a big wingspan like RootforRoo44 said, and he looks like he's a better shooter than Hitchens, maybe even better than Brett McKNight or even Steve McNees. +1 -
Did he mention that Diggs is already on campus taking classes? He was at Memorial tonight working out. He said its a lot colder here then he is used to. lol

It landed in the turn around btw the field house and the stadium what is that Vine st or something like that. There is not much there other than field house, rec, and stadium.

A lifelight just touched down next to the Info, hope whatever happened isn't too serious. Not sure if our team was practicing or not.

2010 soccer schedule
tpsjugglerdude replied to ZachTheZip's topic in Akron Zips NCAA Championship Soccer
Officially Released: http://www.gozips.com/SportSelect.dbml?&am...amp;SPSID=47177 Oct 23rd will be the Day to Corral the Broncos as we play them in both Soccer and Football. I'm bummed that we played Syracuse in Football in the middle of the UNC weekend. I was lookin forward to going back after last year. A bunch of easily travelable games. -
Talked to one of the coaches today and he said Rogers is still not completly recovered from his injury but in the fall it will be a wide open competition.

Pure speculation, but maybe Darryl Roberts gives up his scholarship? Pure speculation, but maybe Darryl Roberts gives up his scholarship, wins the Nobel Prize in Economics and we sign the under the radar monster wingspan man. Darryl Robers winning the Nobel Prize eh? More deserving than someone else i can think of I hear that person is going to win the Heisman Trophy this year based off of him attending a football game.

It looked even worse from the field.

Pics of new parking deck and stadium dorms
tpsjugglerdude replied to bUAkronG's topic in General UA & Campus Discussion
Correction on that...April 15th is not the day that AC comes back on as some rumors stated. It is the day that UA LOOKS at turning it back on. They determine if it will get colder again and if there is a chance it will, they leave the heat on. -
Lots of fumbles, 5 that I can remember. Several recruits were there as well.

Zips still using outdoor practice field?
tpsjugglerdude replied to InTheZone's topic in Akron Zips Football
They played on grass once last year (Penn State) and will play twice this year (Kentucky, Temple). The MAC title game is on artificial turf as well. Seems like the 50 yard practice field is fine for the frequency of play on natural grass. It's impossible to run a college football practice with over 100 guys on a 50 yard field, individual drills would be impossilbe, not to mention the kickers need a place to practice, and being that we have no goal posts on the grass space, that's impossible. If there's one position where practice on grass before a game on grass is an absolute must, it's kicking, and right now they have nowhere to do that. How about we worry about our kickers getting good on turf first. Let's not waste our time worrying about kicking on grass until we make our extra pts every time on turf.
