The East's lone loss came to Georgia. Significant wins over Miss St, WVU, Dayton. I'd say thats a pretty good start for the MAC East. I'm glad we only have to play the teams in the West once a year.

WVU has 7 freshman. By the time Akron plays them they will be a much better team.

WVU lost to a DII school 2 weeks ago...Mississippi St didnt'.

Zips move up 2 spots to #12 and are one of 5 teams to receive a vote.

Best play call of the game was in the second half when State pulled within 4 and the crowd started getting noisy. The very next play Rico threw the alley-op to Zeke and took the crowd out of it for the remainder of the game. Previous Zips teams would (and did) started to fold at that critical moment.

Has anyone seen the new all silver uniforms? They look pretty slick.

What I am interested to find out:1. Does this mean the U23s will have practice at Akron? Our Field House would be perfect. This would be beneficial during the college season to just have the players come to him. They can even put them up in Quaker. Having all these pro soccer players around would be a nice balance for all of the NBA players that seem to come and go.2. Next year preseason scrimmage between the U23s and the Zips? Like the Crew scrimmage a few years back. 3. How many former Zips will make an appearance on the U23s? Teal, Kitchen, Valentine, Nagbe??? I would guess at least 2 if not 3. Most of them already have national team experience.

The Marketing Dept needs to set up a Madden contest. The ultimate winner gets to call the plays for the next Zips home game. Reasons this is better then what we have:1. We will have a proven winner calling the plays.2. He can't do much worse3. He won't call run up the middle from shotgun every other play4. It will get mentioned on ESPN (might be a negative)5. It can't get any worse.6. If it works someone gets fired (possibly from both schools) If they don't go for this then they should set up a console on the side of the field and press the "ask Madden" option to determine the plays before every snap.

Since the beginning of the semester he has been on campus at least twice each week. It seemed like the first week he was there every day. The current joke is that since the NBA is in lockout maybe LBJ finally decided to take classes.
