What I am interested to find out:1. Does this mean the U23s will have practice at Akron? Our Field House would be perfect. This would be beneficial during the college season to just have the players come to him. They can even put them up in Quaker. Having all these pro soccer players around would be a nice balance for all of the NBA players that seem to come and go.2. Next year preseason scrimmage between the U23s and the Zips? Like the Crew scrimmage a few years back. 3. How many former Zips will make an appearance on the U23s? Teal, Kitchen, Valentine, Nagbe??? I would guess at least 2 if not 3. Most of them already have national team experience.

The Marketing Dept needs to set up a Madden contest. The ultimate winner gets to call the plays for the next Zips home game. Reasons this is better then what we have:1. We will have a proven winner calling the plays.2. He can't do much worse3. He won't call run up the middle from shotgun every other play4. It will get mentioned on ESPN (might be a negative)5. It can't get any worse.6. If it works someone gets fired (possibly from both schools) If they don't go for this then they should set up a console on the side of the field and press the "ask Madden" option to determine the plays before every snap.

Since the beginning of the semester he has been on campus at least twice each week. It seemed like the first week he was there every day. The current joke is that since the NBA is in lockout maybe LBJ finally decided to take classes.

You seem to be confusing rural and suburban areas. Can't, Buffalo, and EMU are suburban. NIU, Miami, Bowling Green are rural. I've been to most MAC campuses and quite a few Big Ten campuses. The Big Ten is made up entirely of land grant universities. That and their academics tie them together, but more importantly than any of that, they share the same culture. The MAC does not share a culture across its member institutions, in fact it varies wildly. Akron begged to get into the MAC, and it was a horrible mistake. If I had my say back then I would be dead against such a move (I am well aware of how the MAC was around the time we got in, so I am not judging based on where we are now). We never belonged in this league; the MAC has never treated us like one of its core members. As far as EMU's budget, they spend it funding non-revenue programs. That is where their priority is. they can be just as successful in a non-football league or a lower division. If you're in the MAC, as an FBS school football had better be your top priority, followed by basketball. Ball State is another school who doesn't care for sports, but keeps them reluctantly. They drove away Brady Hoke after he became too successful. Ugh. U of Mich, Indiana, Iowa and Northwestern are not Land Grant universities. According to the NCAA, total football operating expenses: EMU $4.385 million Akron $3.862 million Basketball operating expenses: EMU $1.367 million Akron $1.035 million So if EMU doesn't care about the big sports...? BTW, I only looked up a handful of schools, but BGSU and Ball State both outspent Akron on football and basketball. Just because emu spent more on bball doesn't make them a better team.

Ohio Burger has the same manager and same employees as Sizzling Zone. The burgers they make are delicious. They put bacon on the burgers and the burger is pretty good. They tried modeling after 5 Guys Burgers and Fries.

I agree. How much would a BIG curtain cost so that we can restrict current seating to 50% of capacity and the JAR doesn't look so empty? Have you ever been to Millet Hall in Miami (OH)? What about CSU? They both have curtains and it looks terrible.

I bet we will have answers to a lot of these questions after the summer trip to Canada. I hope we can watch those games online somewhere.
