  1. Not sure where else to post this... figured this would be the best place for now. This topic can be moved if deemed necessary.I am getting ready to do a complete redesign and repaint of my cornhole boards. I've decided to go with a UA theme, but part of the design for the boards calls for actual graphics and decals to be placed on the board. Based on the graphics I wanted to put on the boards, it would be hard for me to hand trace them onto the boards. The easiest option for me is to find a place that can make the graphics I need so its just a matter of buying them, putting them on the boards, and putting the final clear coat over them to finish the boards. However, as I am sure every one of you are chomping at the bit to say, there are copyright laws that prevent me from going anywhere and having them make me these graphics, which is why I am posting this here. I am hoping someone will know of a place that can LEGALLY make me the graphics to complete my cornhole boards. Price isn't necessarily an issue, as long as it doesn't cost me like $100 to have done. For reference, he's the basic look I am going for. Source images used for the graphics aren't very high-resolution, but get the point across: http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r59/tbo...UAcornhole2.jpgAlso, each graphic is approximately 18" wide by 15" high, if that matters. thanks
  2. Agreed. I hope those in charge know this and plan on putting together some kind of pre-game festivities in this area. It'd help to draw people from the shiny new stadium to our academic campus and show them what UA is all about. I like this idea too. Isnt there going to be a presidential suite in the press tower? if so, and it hasnt already been named, this would be a good room to name.
  3. Thanks for the info, Big Guy... thats the information we've all been waiting to hear. Its interesting to hear that there are some significant differences between the turf at both the field house and the RB. The alternating green will look really classy. I love the look.On a side thought... whatever happened to those aerial shots we were getting every other month?
  4. Okay... seriously? how many times is this going to be posted out of sheer ignorance? I think by now we get it... its going to be SIMILAR to whats already in place, however that statement doesnt say exactly what it will be. Is this really that big of a deal? It's a playing surface. Regardless of what it is, i just want some kind of surface for our team to play on. Let's just stop posting this and be slightly more intelligent like I think we all are (or at least should be)
  5. two trenches they dug about a month or more ago are the main drainage system. Field was dug down to the proper depth, now they have to go in with dozers and grade the field. As you may have seen after a big rain, there'd be big puddles of water in the middle of the field. Thats because the field isn't crowned yet to drain the water towards the two large drainage trenches they dug. What they're more than likely doing now is moving dirt from the outside inward to create that crown. Theres really no major drainage systems to put in place right now. Id say definitely within the next month we'll be seeing turf.
  6. really cookin on the field now. looks like they've got 2 bulldozers running. Also see them working on those two buildings on top of the endzone facility.
  7. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Coleman commons has been completed. It's even in some of ME87's pictures. It's the green space between the baseball fields and Buchtel Hall. Then again, maybe it's not, because I could've sworn I read something about a fountain of some sort and an amphitheater...hm..http://www.uakron.edu/nll/Coleman-Commons.phpClearly it's not done yet. They still need to do the fountain, ampitheater, removal of the tennis courts and the construction of that oval... so it'll be another few years before its 100% done. Keep in mind that the new Soccer stadium still needs to be built, so they're probably keeping that project in mind with this project.
  8. 17. A digital clock outside the stadium facing exchange counting down the days, hours, minutes, and seconds to kickoff against Morgan St.
  9. closing spicer from exchange to vine would be entirely possible. They've got it half closed right now with all the work they're doing around the new dorms, so closing the entire street isn't entirely out of the question. Traffic can just as easily divert over to Goodkirk/Fountain. Personally, I'd love to see union street closed off north of the stadium and spicer closed from at least vine to exchange (including orchard, vine, and nash streets). I think that'd be the smartest way to go about it. I also hope the University and the City work out some kind of plan to employ both the Roo Express and the Metro buses to move people from the stadium to the various outlaying parking lots/garages. They'd be fools to not do it...
  10. Thats something else I was thinking about. I get the suspicion that the University will be employing the use of the Roo Express Shuttle Buses to get people who are parking downtown to the stadium and back
  11. not to mention commuter students, professors, and staff that are here on weekends.
  12. I thought the same thing, but I believe those will be structures put up as entrances to the endzone facility. Looking at the cams, you can see open shafts at the top where those buildings will be. They'll be used as the main entrances for the stairs and elevators. The west building will have stairs and an elevator, the east side just stairs. Keep in mind I am only basing this off of logical deduction based on the renderings and what i see on the webcams.
  13. very good point. I was kinda thinking the same thing myself. However, at the same time, saying youre considering a school like UA also makes the powerhouse schools feel like the smaller schools are doing a better job at recruiting the player than they are. Makes them feel like they're being out-shoved.
  14. Not just the SEC, but pretty much any upper-class college school. I know its a generalization of all schools, but its pretty much the case. In regards to Rutgers... While it's true the New York media market would be a huge market to get involved in, it's already dominated by the Big East. Nobody out there cares about the Big10. If anything, Rutgers joining the Big10 would actually hurt them more than help them as far as the media goes. Next up would be West Virginia. They're in the right location and have the media market thats best representative of the majority of Big10 teams (big state school, huge loyal fanbase, etc). Yeah, Pitt and Syracuse would be good, but right now Basketball is their only strong suit. They're weak football schools, and we all know the Big10 relies on its football product more than its basketball product.
  15. In regards to Missouri... I dont see them going anywhere anytime soon. They've been the only consistent Big12 North school to give the Big12 South any competition. The Big12 needs to keep Missouri, otherwise the Big12 would become grossly unbalanced. However, if the Big10 was SOMEHOW (and I put big emphasis on this because any Big12 team would be a fool to leave that conference right now) able to lure a Big12 team to the Big10, the Big12 would be stuck short a team. There's no way that the Big12 would pick any schools east of the mississippi, and there really aren't any teams "big" enough to fill that slot anywhere in the great plains region. My theory on all this: If the Big10 decides they will expand their conference to 12 teams, they are going to seek either Notre Dame or an elite Big East team. Any team located in the eastern Midwest region would be ideal for the Big10. Seeing how the Big East is really the only major conference that has conference members in that region, they'd be the Big10's prime target. Personally, if the Big10 can't lure Notre Dame in (which is entirely possible given past attempts), I see the Big10 going after Pitt, West Virginia, or Syracuse. Geographically, Rutgers is a too far East to make sense for the Big10.
  16. I honestly dont care... if thats what you were asking.I just know this topic has been beaten to a royal pulp on these boards, but seeing this story and the schools Joe-Pa throws out there really makes it interesting. To get this out of the way, I am a supporter of staying in the MAC and building a perennial powerhouse before moving somewhere else. However, if the opportunity presents itself... I'd be hard pressed to pass on it. Something to note about Joe-Pa throwing those teams out there... they are regional to Penn State. If any of them were to be invited to the Big10 (dont even want to begin to think what the conference would be called if they expanded to 12... ), they'd be in direct competition regionally for TV time and recruits. Not sure why Joe Pa would want another team from that region to be in the same conference as his team... but looking at things realistically, those are the best teams that would fit a Big10 conference expansion. Anyways... interesting story to think about... Im interested to see what comes of this.
  17. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4118848Saw this story on ESPN. When Joe-Pa mentioned those 3 Big East teams, it made me wonder if this is the door that might open a slot in the Big East for us. Now, I know this is a horse that's been beaten to the point where you could drink the remnants, but this is a very, very interesting story to hear.
  18. that site that the stadium page is run on isnt associated with gozips in any way. It's hosted by channel1media. Probably in a roundabout way associated with gozips, but that site is not gozips in any way
  19. i dont know the rulebook that well, but if he was kicked off the team and he transfers to another school, doesn't that mean he has to sit a year per NCAA regulations or does the rule not apply because he was kicked off the team?
  20. im actually looking to get one for myself. definitely interested how you get this because i may want one myself.
  21. I dont think they'll be planting grass... I think they'll be bringing in sod and laying it down. However, they won't lay it until all heavy construction equipment is done in the area. Once they get the concrete walkway laid down and most of the scoreboard up, they'll be able to use the cherrypickers from the concrete walk to finish the work on the scoreboard.
  22. They got quite a bit of field work to do before they get to laying the turf. But, per our resident posters who took the tour they said they'd start working on the field the end of April. equipment on the north end should be gone relatively soon. They're nearly halfway done, if not farther, with the brickwork. All this work recently is really making me excited!!
  23. In case anyone here was wondering what happened to the Stadium's website ( www.uakron.edu/stadium/ ), here's what happened. The athletic department decided to pull some politics on those of us in charge of maintaining the school's website. One of my co-workers put together the website you all know and trained 6 different people on how to edit the site and keep it up-to-date. However, for reasons unfathomable for us here, the Athletic Department decided that website wasn't want they wanted to use anymore and, in essence, forced us to take down the site and redirect the url above to gozips.com. There was no warning, no time for us to get things figured out, just take down the site and redirect it to gozips.com. To say the very least, we were very ticked off, but there's not a whole lot we can do because of the power the athletics department holds. Athletic Departmens "reasoning": http://www.gozips.com/ViewArticle.dbml?&am...amp;SPSID=47122In the athletic department's defense, it was dumb to have two websited for the same thing, but the least they could have done was just copied everything over to gozips.com. Because of this move, I can't find any of the renderings of the stadium...
