As other have mentioned, I would have loved to play a few more elite ACC teams, and I would LOVE to have a rematch against Northwestern just to show them how much of a fluke that game was. I'll still take it, though. What I don't like the most is October. We have 1 home game during that month compared to 6 away games. That will be a tough stretch for our guys. However, I guess it's fair considering our September schedule.19-0 anyone?

hey now... just because im an OSU fan doesnt mean that im not a Zips fan... If the Zips are playing OSU, then I'll cheer the zips on with everything i got. Outside of that, Im a fan of both.

Cincy wouldn't be bad. I'd definitely make the trip for that one. Ann Arbor? Don't think I could bring myself to actually have the desire to go to that town... ever...Don't forget Buffalo. I'm sure we'll be making a big student trip for that game.

I would be more than willing to work in collaboration with the AK-Rowdies and the admins here at ZipsNation to create a new AK-Rowdies website. I've got quite a bit of experience doing website development, and a lot of free time this summer, so I'd definitely be game for this.

construction crews are starting to install all the glass for the main concourse/elevator tower. Also noticed they've been making really good progress with the brickwork around the stadium.

nothing wrong with playing this type of game. its really the only way to find out how well we stack up against the elite of the BCS. If we do well in the game, it speaks wonders of our program. If we beat them, it speaks even more.also, we have 6 home games this year, including a game against Morgan St, which many will call a cupcake game. We then play Indiana at home, a very winnable game for us. I'd say thats about the best possible scenario we can have as a mid-major D-1 team. Our schedule looks very good and we have the chance to get an 8 win season if JD can do it right.

if you look closely on the left side of the 3rd cam, you can see it.

The only other place I can see a table being set up would be the Polsky building because it is out of the way and there are students who only have classes in there. It would be extremely hard to set tables up in classroom buildings. They would only be busy at class changes, whereas Polsky and SU have students in there at all times. But I think that is a great idea for the faculty to announce events.The Rowdies need to setup a website that is continually updated. It would of course have a link to the Nation. I think that has the potential to keep students more updated then random facebook events and messages (not that those should stop because those are great!)Thanks for bringing that up... thats something else I think needs to be approached is that the AK-Rowdies don't have any kind of a website to operate from. Yes, they have a facebook page, but prospective students need to be able to get information on what the AK-Rowdies are without having to get information from a person. Now more than ever, people use the internet to get their information because its more convenient for them. I really should contact them and see if I can get them to let me design and build a website for them...

i was under the impression that the surrounding walls for the field were far enough away that they didnt need to have any padding. hard to say through the renderings because Im not sure how accurate the field rendering is, but I believe it'll reflect the style of the stadium wth the brick.

Thats good to hear. I really would like to see a larger emphasis on attendance of more games for other sports. I know this year Ian kept saying "coming to this game gets you points for the Can't game at the MAC tourney", but nothing really came of that. I guess it was a ploy to get more students to come out, but that will only last so long. Something tangible and understandable needs to put into place so that students REALLY understand how important their overall attendance is. Here's something I would LOVE to see done for the new stadium: Make the lower-level sections of the bleachers for registered and active Rowdies and the upper sections for general students. Let the overflow from both sections go to the endzone berm. That way if students want better seats, they gotta be active members.

This is what I have been proposing to all my friends for almost a year. Its the best way to increase attendance across the board to all games while building that reputation and unity that is needed.I made the decision this year that next year Im gonna try to run for a position in the AKRowdies administration. There is so much work that needs done with the Rowdies that they need someone to step up and do something about it.

vmd... all I gotta say to you is STFUYes, the buffalo's in canada thing is stupid, but theres so much more to that chant than you'll ever know. Hell, I don't even remember most of the story behind it.As far as our chants go, I dont care if our chants are your standard chants. I just want unison among all the students and not a half-assed effort from 80% of the students. As long as we get as many students there as possible who will at least make noise the entire game, regardless of what that noise is, I am fine with it. In fact, the Rowdies have a handful of unique chants that we do. Maybe if you were paying more attention to what we were doing rather than what we're not doing...In response to your bashing of the Z-I-P-S and ZI-PS chants... do you HONESTLY thing OSU is the ONLY school that does those chants? Seriously do you? Becuase there are COUNTLESS other schools that do the same thing. Penn State does something very similar with their "WE ARE - PENN STATE". When a chant is used across the country (or around the world for that matter) its not copying off anyone, it's just using a good chant to use at a game.So please... do us all a favor and get off your high horse there and stop giving the Rowdies a bad name. I have my complaints with the Rowdies, as would anyone, but those students who actually SHOW UP to every game and give it their all are some of the best in the conference.

Im sorry... but does anyone else think this topic has gone on for WAYY too long now? I try to keep up on this thread hoping some good information might come of it, but all I see are people bickering left and right.

One of these days Im gonna go take some pics of the stadium from various parts around the city. You really never get an idea of how big this place is until you can see it from 3/4 of a mile away.
