  1. .178 is much more resonable than .781... hahaEven so, thats a hell of a lot of alcohol to have consumed, especially on a tuesday night.
  2. .781?! Holy hell!! I hope thats a typo cuz thats 9 times the legal limit!
  3. ...problem is that the NCAA is winning the game "You Can't Win This"
  4. Wasn't Alexander Mr Y, and Henderson Mr. X?I cant remember... with all the activity today with recruits I lost track
  5. am I missing something here? where is Mr. Y?...still trying to find this info...
  6. I think people are too quick to jump on the big ben bandwagon. Yeah, he's done well and has 2 superbowl rings to show for it, but he's only been in the league for 5 years! I say he needs to keep this pace up for another 3-4 years and he has a solid bid to Canton. I think he'll make it to Canton largely based on the number of rings he has. His stats are very good, but they aren't stellar.
  7. I never really thought that the stadium would make THAT much of an impression on recruiting right away, especially this year. I kinda get the feeling that once it's done and you can REALLY see what its going to be like to play for the zips, namely what the gameday experience is in the new stadium, the finished facilities, etc, that we'll see some improvement in recruit quality. Think about it... if you're a recruit, what is more impressive to you: an unfinished stadium that you cant really get a chance to walk around in or a completed band new stadium that is just gleaming with that fresh car scent?
  8. thank you for the hospitality dave. i'll be checking in on here throughout the next few weeks at least.just don't piss us off...
  9. wow... this is good news. Im definitely excited for this fall... and not just because of the stadium!
  10. No, I know that it is the tunnel. What I don't understand is why there are two walls right next to each other. I guess Ill have to talk a walk by to see if I can get a better idea.
  11. Depending on which day the game is, I may just go on my own even if the rowdies don't. I have a very close friend who goes to Notre Dame and id be able to sleep there. For me at least, it'd cost me $50 or so plus tolls to make the drive. Might be worth it... then again, might not.
  12. WE'RE NOT WORTHY!!!I still want to know where you guys get these from. At least this one is Hi-res so I can see more detail (unlike gozips.com where you need a telescope to see anything)**editA few things I notice:- I see boxes on the roof. There's only 1 thing that fits in those boxes: stadium lights- appears as though the lights will extend across the entire top of the press box... nice!- the endzone facility is really starting to come together.- why does it look like there are double walls on the south end?
  13. I hope so too... if he choses to come here, and is okay with those images/graphics, Im totally going to use one as a poster when the kid starts playing... hahaha
  14. got a link for that info? Not trying to call you out on it, just want to look around and see our company.
  15. they're cookin today. Looks like they got all the main lower section steel in place. dang.I also saw this and was amazed that the crane could reach out that far and not be the slightest bit unbalanced...
  16. I could be going out on a limb, but I don't think the Cap'n will have Ball St at #3 in HIS rankings I gotta agree here. I can't seem to make sense of BSU being ranked above akron, and Im not saying that just because I am an akron fan. I guess the only justification here is that they have played more conference games, but even then we're 5 games above .500 whereas BSU is 1 game over.
  17. zen... where'd you find that pic? Oh... walked by the press box today on my way to work and noticed they got a ton (figurative speech here, not literal) of glass panels already stacked and ready. I didn't expect to see that stuff at the construction site at this stage...
  18. Yup.. Honestly, its better to have the east side slightly larger so that the size of each side seems more balanced. If they were to keep both sides the same capacity, then the west side would dwarf the east side. Aesthetics...
  19. This is now a little off-topic, but something is definitely wrong with midwest football. Our teams are slow and boring to watch. The Big 11 is even more painful to watch than the MAC, IMHO.Even though I am partially an OSU fan, I WILL agree to that. Considering the amount of talent that comes out of this area, youd think the entire conference would be better, but either a. the talent is being recruited out of this region to the the South and West, or B. the talent is being recruited locally, but the systems they are playing in flat-out don't work.It should be noted, however, that the OSU/Texas bowl game this year was a very close game throughout, even though everyone figured Texas would just entirely dismantle OSU. Considering that Texas was the other team that really had a legit chance to go to the national championship last year, had they not been snubbed out of the Big12 championship, I would say OSU held their own against a far superior team, unlike Penn State... Alas, this isnt relevant, so I will shut up now. But yes, I would much rather watch a MAC game than a Big10 game.
  20. they're canadians. Nothing to worry about here.
  21. I just sent the guy an email to let him know about that.
  22. So let me get this straight... someone out there, who is a student and potentially a member of the football team, would RATHER stay at the run-down rubber bowl than build a new stadium that is actually something to be proud of? Wow... I guess this world really is going down the sh!tter...
  23. ::turns a dead ear::LAAA-DEEE-DAAAA!!!Oh, were we talking about something here? No? Okay, carry on.
  24. First off, Dr. Z, thanks for finding that. At least now I know I'm not all alone on this one.**edit - just saw Cap'n's post
  25. Oh please. I think it's time you pulled your head out of the ground and saw the light of day. Akron DOES compete with OSU for recruits, it just doesn't show up on every high school recruit website that people treat as the word of God. Akron competes with OSU for recruits, its just not the same way that OSU competes for recruits with Mich and PSU. If OSU wants to take someone else's recruit to fill a need they have, then that's the proof that's in the pudding. Its not Akron who's directly effected, but it shows that OSU and Ohio MAC teams do compete for talent.
